I want to keep my Storm looking standard because it has only recently had a complete suspension overhaul using geniune VW parts. I want to know what I can do to improve the handling whilst still making it look standard. Uprated anti-roll bars? Strut braces? etc.. I want to get the best out of it with the possibility of getting coilovers in the future.

haha! It does work but the light randomly comes on. I cleared the fault before as I thought it may have been an old fault and it was fine for a couple of weeks but it only just returned today. Loose connection maybe?
-
Doesn't sound too bad then! Excuse the stupid question but what exactly does it do? I guess it's related to the ABS somehow?
-
I did a VAG-COM on my car this morning and it came with a fault on the Brake pedal position sensor. How difficult are these to replace? and more importantly are they expensive?!
-
You really need to amp component speakers to get the best out of them, otherwise you're best off sticking to the originals.

When my dad was running a MK5 Golf GTI we decided to have alittle comparision with my Corrado VR6. Once the turbo spooled up he was gone but as soon as the VR6 was in it's element (4000rpm+) I started inching on him, above 90mph I started catching up at an even faster rate. The VR6 really came into it's own above 80mph from what I experienced.

I have managed to source a complete brand new Conlog alarm system with the intention of buying it just to replace my broken alarm fob. Seeing as it's brand new I wondered what work is involved in replacing my old Conlog with the new one. Is it simply the case of replacing the alarm ecu's with the new ones or is it more difficult than that?! I have a Storm which has the immobiliser built into it. Cheers Phil

I have to say your Rado looks cracking in that pic 8)

I stick with 36 front and 32 rear on my VR and it seems to wear fine.

Audioscape also do a sub enclosure that sits in the boot and looks very nice when installed but they are pricey new. If your lucky you might be able to get one second hand from here, thats what I did.

I wouldn't have admitted that :lol

No it wasn't I assumed it would be alright because the stat is only about a year old and its a VW one but when it was on my old VR it had the same symptons so I'm guessing it must have been duff all along...

I just spent most of the morning replacing the thermostat housing on my VR with a spare new one I had because the old one was leaking badly. Got it all installed and refilled the coolant and let it idle for a good 15 minutes. The water temp settled at around 100C which I thought seemed quite normal, I then took it out for spin and noticed that the water temp dropped to about 75C and only rose when the car was at a standstill. To me this sounds like a dodgy thermostat, I really don't/can't be assed to remove the whole housing again just to replace the thermostat so I was wondering whether it is possible to change with the housing still in place? Cheers Phil

I used Dynamat extreme too and got the bulk pack like you. At first I was convinced it made a big difference but I personally put that down to a placebo effect now. If you take a look at the doors on the Corrado you will notice they are quite heavily sound deadended anyway as standard, so I think this plays a role in it too. Another downside to that amount of soundeadening was the hinges on my doors were begining to sag!
-
I personally wouldn't bother with sound deadening, I did it on my old Corrado and recently transfered all my ICE into my new Corrado and guess what.... no difference at all! The only benefit it did do was eliminate any rattles I had in the door but thats nothing a bit of sticky felt won't fix! It adds weight (alot of it) and gives the door a nice clunk when shutting but thats about it.

Nothing wrong with the timing on my gear changes ;) If there was I would have had the same symptons on my old VR! I'm determined to get to the bottom of this, it definately seems more electrical than mechanical related.
