Its very easy to replace but i would try cleaning out with carb cleaner first (plenty of threads on it)
-
It might actually be related to that because it was idling like a bag of nails after storage then I got someone to clean it out and it idled perfectly again. I forgot to mention that the little braided rubber pipe that connects to a pot alongside the injectors was replaced because it had a split in it and thats when all the symptons started...

Cheers guys, ll'l order a new belt and see if that makes any difference...

Ever since my VR6 was taken out of storage for the winter it has been rather poorly. It tends to judder and misfire when you put your foot down in a high gear at low revs (1000-2500) but it is also quite intermitant. So far I have changed the coil pack which was arching - that made no difference at all. The spark plugs and ht leads which made it 80% better but still the problem is there but less pronounced than it use to be. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could be causing the problem. I have searched the threads but found no definitive answer. It has also backfired once when reving the engine stationary. Cheers

My dad's currently driving a MK5 Golf GTI the Corrado was his before I had it! And my mum drives a Saab 9-3 boat!

Sorry that title is taken by me

When the car is first started in the day the steering sticks slightly when you turn, after a few hundred yards the symptons go and everything is normal. I have changed the steering fluid to the recommended VW stuff but that hasn't made any difference. What could be causing it? Its on VR btw if that makes any difference cause I never got the same problems with my valver.

How did you cut out the original tweeters from there brackets?
-
Thanks, does the connection from the headunit to the amp go: sub to rear or rear to rear?! If you understand what I mean!
-
All the bits to my new ICE setup have now finally arrived. I'm running a 4 channel amp to a set of components up front plus a couple of subs at the rear. The amp wiring kit I purchased came with one set of RCA leads. Will I need 2 sets of RCA leads? because my headunit has: front, rear and sub RCA outputs and the amp has: front, rear inputs + an aux output. Cheers

I found the opposite was true, and the OE box had better pickup, but then that was on a VR Mine is on a VR but just to confuse things the K&N panel filter was originally off a 2.0 16v corrado which is much more shallow than the original paper VR one I replaced. So I don't know whether this would make any difference?

It might not make your car faster but I noticed a much improved throttle response and eagerness when I installed mine.

Just a quick update. I spent the morning feeding the amp power cable through the car, it wasn't easy and i now have scars to prove it  The muppets at audio acoustics delievered the wrong parcel shelf yesterday so thats put a delay on my progress  But I ordered the genesis components and subs yesterday so they should hopefully come sometime next week :) I might even pull a sicky if all the bits arrive next week

I'm slowly learning!
-
I've got it, thanks. I suppose that would mean the subs would be in mono and not stereo but i don't suppose that matters with bass because it isn't directional?
-
Have you got a drawing I could look at to explain what you mean? You have lost me!
-
 i'll do it myself for the rates you charge  I can't wait to get it all installed :D
-
I've ordered the CAD cabling kit and a stealth shelf from http://www.autoacoustics.com/stealthshelves.htm Apart from the speakers and subs i think thats pretty much it! Now how much did you say you charged to install it?!
-
Well mate its too late now cause I've done it! I have ordered the Alpine CDA-9857R headunit with the ipod kit for £219.99 + the JBL GTO75.4 amp you recommended for £99. I gunna order the Genesis components and subs on friday when i get paid! I managed to find a discount code off the net for free delievery so thats saved another £10 :D Cheers for the advice, its proved invaluable! Just one more question though, does the amp include all the cables i will need to connect it to the speakers and battery?
-
Toad, ru sure you're 26
-
You seem like you really know your stuff so im gonna take your word for it! What would you recommend in terms of headunits?
-
I never knew 6x9 subs existed! do they really work well though or would I be better off with some larger coaxial speakers? I want a good level of treble you see and I dont want the rears to drown out the fronts if that makes sense!
-
Half the problem is im lazy as sin! Im already worried about getting the amp wired up to the battery? where is the best location for the amp? This is what I have decided on so far: Alpine CDA-9857R Infinity 652.7I Infinity 52.7I Coming to 328 quid on bassjunkies.com! Would it be possible to use components up front with coaxials for the rear?

Any recommendations on the amp mate?
