i had a guy in a petrol station saying 'ooh, is that the new scirocco? i read about it the other day.' :lol: He seemed like a bit of a mentalist and smelt of wee though. He went on to say he had the old scirocco, but had to sell it because 'the mrs can't bend much any more' then the guy in the petrol station said 'is that you corrado?' i said yes, but he didnt offer up a chuftie :(

Just a quicky.. I'm looking at fitting a set of 6" wide alloys onto my G60 over the winter, until i get spangly wheels next spring. Just thought id check that the width is okay, i presume it should be as they were standard on the 16V, but thought i better check first! Also, would 195/50 tyre profile be right? Thanks Baz.

16vradge, just tried what you said, results were.. err.. interesting?! Was still full from where i filled up this morning - i did 20 miles today - so started engine with cap off. turned on heater and revved slightly [2-3k]. let oil heat to about 80, water didnt move. got to 90 and it started gargling. then started spitting water a bit. then a lot. turned off engine, and waited a bit. heater inside car stayed cold. Filled up with water/coolant.. it took 4 litres! Heater still cold. Drove around a bit and water level is still the same. so no idea if i've helped or not! [puts on stupid hat] How do i check the stat? and where is it located? sciroccotune, there does seem to bit a fiar bit of steam, but unsure if this is just becaouse its very cold atm! Looks like i may as well buy a new tank cap & coolant temp switch on thursday anyway. I'm going to steath on sunday, so may find someone there who can point at stuff!

i would def say road awareness decreases as you approach a known speed camera, i'll be looking at my speedo pretty much constantly to check im within the limit. insurance wise, you'll be fine. i had my license revoked at 19, for 6 points in two years. ive kept em on my license though.. no need to get them off!

H plate was during the cross over year [see my car above - H plate mk 3] meant they could be de-catted as well! :twisted:

it was prob a GT, they're not slow. I went up against my mates 1.8 16v when i had my polo, and he only gained on the straights. round corners i'd nip him.

apologies if the answer has already been given, i've tried the search but cant find an exact answer to the problem. my car is a 92 G60, with early spec slider controls. the symptoms are: * loosing water... lots of! light flashes after about 2 days [100-150 miles] and takes about a litre to fill. * slider very sticky, wont go far enough across to select windscreen heating. * only cold air comes out on any power or heating setting. * water temp display on dash stays at about 70 all the time. oil temp is as normal, 90-100 normal driving, 110 ish at speed. The carpet in passangers footwell is dry. Any advise would be helpful, im looking at changing to late spec controls anyway, if they'll fit? Advice on any other parts needed and other cars they would have come in may help my ebay search! Thanks, Baz.

as above, i seem to have a problem with my drivers door. The last few days ive been closing my door, and it just bounces back at me! When pushed closed, it goes flush, but doesnt seem to catch. Anyone had this before? Im thinking maybe something is sticking due to the stupid temperature we're having at the moment, but may be something else. I have passat rear mechs and handles, and everything may have been removed when the car was sprayed a few weeks ago, but was fine until now. Cheers, Baz.

impressive! I was told i needed a new front mount pretty quickly at my trip to Gwerks last week.. get these rolling quickly and ill be up for one!

id recommend heading to stealth as well tbh.. although its further in driving time, i reckon it'll cost you less in workshop time.
