Heater controls - swapping late for early.
bristolbaron replied to Junior Jackson's topic in Interior
Ha! Was just gonna post a new thread about this, but checked the search first and it was only mentioned a couple of weeks ago! I've got as far as buying passat controls, offered them up to the early dash, but the hole is tiny by comparison. Could do with seeing a late dash next to mine, to get an idea of size difference. Looks like another thing to sit in the cupboard for a bit! still, the mrs is buying me a dremmel for christmas, may have fun in the new year! -

My brain cant comprehend exactly what im trying to say but bear with me: If fuel costs are reduced, and we pay per mile, then it doesnt really matter how fast we travel in that mile, as the cost per mile is the same. The additional fuel used will be made cheaper anyway, so surely we then dont need to worry about fuel economy? - that'll make the hippies happy. Maybe im just trying to see the bright side, but ill be looking forward to emptier roads to drive on at inappropriate speeds!

Got a new job.. but which co' car do I choose?
bristolbaron replied to Phil K's topic in General Car Chat
i drove the new passat for a couple of weeks and it is superb. depending on your driving style the handbrake can be annoying though. you cant just jump in the car and drive off putting on your seatbelt, the handbrake wont let you, unless you push the button at just the right time. Also, its all or nothing on hillstarts. Id have to drive the golf before making up my mind tbh. -
When will it end? Man killed by thieves in his OWN car!

My Dad! he's a screw in a secure unit 8) These type of kids are known to have the most 'accidents' -
as it turns out they're 7" anyway. im really pleased with them, will do the job until spring. was planning on fitting 195/50's, is this still better on a 7" rim then 205?

i do about 400 miles per week in my G60, I convinced the mrs to buy a mk2 8v gti, so i could use that to get to work. fuel economy is about the same! the C will always get used as a daily driver.
