just checked owners manual. says 'approx 4 litres' with filter change. but also says: 'due to the special tools required, the job knowledge necessary and disposal problems, the engine oil and filter changing should preferably be done by a v.a.g. dealership.' just so you know.

now that is f**ked up. I'd find it very very difficult not to completely f**k him up. My mate has just had similar happen to his TT. Except not girlfriend related, it was his dad. [long story!] I have a lot of respect for him for not doing anything physical.

not too sure yet.. if the reverse is flush, i'll flip the guages etc around, and wire up everthing. may try and use the LED for something exciting.. but don't yet know what! thinking about an engine start button at the top.. who knows! If it won't flip, then I will use it as a template to convert to RHD... then look at materials to maunfacture in.. again, who knows! gotta check the guages work yet!

I saw it last minute and put £20 as max bid! It's for a LHD, but i'll soon sort that. was 'sold as seen' so its possible the guages don't work. Almost feel guilty i was bidding against someone from here, especially now i know it was you! Almost. :lol:

Thats what im hoping will happen, as the car really isn't that bad. The whole front end of the car is a slightly different colour to the back anyway, so they may see the need for a full/major respray. Also, i spoke to a wheel shop today about refurbishment, they said insurance companies just seem to replace the whole set these days! My worry is total repair costs outwaying it being written off. I'd much rather have my car, with fresh paint work and new wheels then fight against silly amounts of money as a payout.

spoken to my insco, they're actually pretty good! [adrian flux] they've put a company called angel assistance in charge of handling the claim. i've had a call from them already to say they'll sort me out with a loan car whilst a quote is done. they just need to get his insurers to accept liability. Anyway.. i'm going back out to polish the remains!

I'm gutted! Driving to Bristol this morning down country A roads, my journey is slowed by an old fart in front doing 20-30mph, in a national speed limit area. The guy realises he's keeping me waiting, so decides to take the corners slower - 10-15mph. I get to an area where theres a bit of straight - now a 30 zone - and safely overtake at 30 mph. He decides he's not happy, so goes to overtakes me with a parked lorry the other side of the road! inevitably, there's not enough room, so he smacks into the side of me. :cry: He's damaged both wheel arches and an alloy, not major damage, but not looking good for E38 now. I'm still going, but just won't be turning full lock at any point! Ah well, just see what the insurers say. Two blokes in the lorry saw what happened, and one, in his best Bristolian said 'get 'is insurers ta call I, I'll tell 'em he's a C**T!'

I had a friend pulled over for using the phone recently, the police took his details and radioed them through. His cousin (a copper) happened to pick up the message and told the PC to let him go! PC said 'it seems it's your lucky day' and sulked his way back to his car!

I've been using this today and was a little disapointed. The paintwork does seem smoother, i've then safe cutted and waxed half the car so far, but thunder stops play. I will buy it again in the future, but as a once yearly job.
