  1. :norty: :norty: he he! Getting it done by a place called CRASH in corsham. Wanted to use redland, but they're not on their approved list and i cant be bothered with the hassle. Plus CRASH are on my way to work, so its handy. If the do a bad job, they can re-do it until its right. Will post pics up here when its done, i've seen some of the other cars they have done and they looked up to scratch. fingers crossed!
  2. spooky, mine done this this morning!
  3. And i forgot to add the best bit...! When the girl was discussing what hire car i would get, i requested a VW. She said she will make a call to confirm if i could definatley get a golf. Apparently, as my car has a 1.8 engine, and the golf would have a 2.0 litre engine, it would be classed as an upgrade, so couldn't g'tee it. She said i would most likely get a vauxhall vectra! I told her there was no way i'd drive it. [vectra's sit in a similar position to me as rovers and mondeos] She asked why, so i told her i'd rather shove wasps up my arse. You just know theres gonna be a Vectra waiting for me now..
  4. good choice mate! If someone offered me venoms for free, i'd still kick em in the nuts.
  5. You have a wiring fault.. i have the same at the moment, so have disconnected the loom... which reminds me, i must get that sorted!
  6. as dinkus, said, i may have been a bit over emotional about the damage caused at the time, but as insurance is progressing i thought id update. Angel Assistance haven't been very productive with dealing with the claim. At first they got the 3rd partys reg no wrong, so came up as a non registered car. They then done this again, but third time lucky, they found his details. I was sent to a local garage for a quote, which came out at £1300, for respraying one side, replacing a wheel and pulling out the dented front wing. I was advised that as my car is worth £1500, the car will be written off. I asked the girl to put down her glasses guide and do some reasearch into the 'real ' values of G60's. She called back to say perhaps it's not a write off and the repairs could go ahead. I asked how she got on with the third party admitting liability and she said, 'oh yes, i haven't checked that' She then calls back to say they do not accept liability, and they cannot now deal with the claim. It has to be dealt with by a solicitor, and I may get a cash payout, if they admit to a percentage of the fault. I said i'd accept nothing under 100% thier fault, and asked if she had contacted the witnesses. Answer was 'no'. She then calls the witness, and calls back to say after speaking to him, she is happy to pursue the claim. I am now booked in to get the work done in two weeks time, but due to my dodgy paintwork, i'm gonna fork out another £600 to get the front end and other side done at the same time. Now all i have to do is find £600! So it looks as though i've got there in the end, but sometimes it feels like you have to do the insurers job for them. I'm just glad i spent a year in insurance and got my basic certificates!
  7. NickVR6, i didnt know you had a babber! lil cutie too, sure he's yours? Love the idea of BOGOF... then you need two kids!!

  10. Nearly missed a black 16v today, heading away from the M4 at cirencester junct. M100 ***.. i was tuning the radio!
  11. kevhaywire, can you get one like that for the rear of a C? Any idea who makes them? or any clearance issues on standard set up or coilovers?
  12. Tidy C mate, welcome! I thought for a minute you had a massive spoiler though!! [look at left hand side of pic!]
  13. I had this seal go on my old 16v. It's worth sorting everything now as its a cheap and easy job. From memory: take of oil filter, undo nut up inside. take apart cooler, and replace seal. [you may need to remove this compleatley by removing two allen? bolts.] put back together again! Its also worth replacing the temp sendors at the same time as these are also prone to leaking. Your biggest single expense will be new oil! Whole job shouldnt take much more than an hour if you have a fair idea what your doing. Dont drive anywhere!! Oil empties VERY quickly!
  14. I thought all 2nd hand cars carry the 1 minute, 1 mile g'tee i offer?!
  15. Yeah, next thing I need doing I'll try Luccombe - heard some good things, mostly air cooled, though. Have you had any work done at the bodyshop, then? See clive at lucombe's, he's a good lad. My mates had most of his C resprayed at paintworks, they did a good job. He's only up the road from you, and i'm sure he'd let you take a look if you're thinking of getting something done.
  16. I cant speak for others, but I completely see the attraction in a big sports bike. However, after being involved in a fairly nasty bike accident, I'd never ride one. I was pillion on my stepdads bike a few years back, when a BT van pulled out on us and threw us both over the handlebars. I crushed my stepdads shoulder and put him out of work for nearly a year - he still cant lift his arm above shoulder height. He also broke his leg and had massive bruises everywhere. I messed up my lower spine and suffer from constant back pain. It's not terrible, but feels like someones pushing their fingers into your spine. I'm used to it now, but can't lift heavy stuff, or spend too long fixing/cleaning the car. Since then i've not been on another bike, and my stepdad will only ride on his own. So i do understand the attraction, but will stick with four wheels thanks!
  17. I would have let you drive mine mate... until the 'reversing' incident at E38! If i ever make it to Corsham you can take it for a spin
  18. Dont ya just hate that! I have to check last thing before bed, so theres not too many new posts during breakfast before work! :veryverysad:
