  1. that sounds like the easiest way to do it, however have you tried getting someone to pull up on the bonnet whilst you pull the lever? Get them to pull up before you pull it so it's at it's highest first - this can also help..
  2. 205/45 is best all rounder 205/40 is okay 195/40 is okay
  3. fair enough.. personally i dont see much point in the CCGB any more but thats just me and not what this thread it about.. the main problem is it's not VW, it's franchisers that you're dealing with. In their eyes you own a car worthy of the scrappage scheme and they'd rather make money on selling you a new car every three years than sell you parts, especially if they're discounting the comparatively little profit they'll make. there are enough alternatives now that I haven't been to a main dealer for parts in maybe 3+ years..
  4. CCGB membership or membership to anything else will not get you a compulsory discount at main dealers. If you don't like it, don't shop there. If your only reason for membership is discounted parts don't be a member!
  5. Black j plate g60 at M32 st pauls roundabout yesterday eve around 5pm. Thought it might be domwells but bigger shiny wheels!
  6. I used to do a 70 mile per day commute in my g60 - 200 bhp and i'm not light footed.. I'd get 35mpg most days. Somethings wrong with your fuelling, or you only have 2nd gear! My situation is now very different to yours so can't really appreciate it, however weekend toy and passat tdi daily is the way forward - you will still save money.
  7. Cheers guys, pretty much all similar views as I have at the moment - it's far too good to break, with the couple of paint bits done it would be back to show standard again.. I think I'm going to try it pretty much as it is and see what the market says.. there's gotta be someone out there looking for a well powered G60 with decent stoppers, it's just a case of whether to sort the paint or not
  8. My G60 is going to be going up for sale due to another project coming my way. [no information is being released about this at this stage!!] It's definitely going up for sale, but I can't work out the best thing to do in the current market.. The current spec is as follows: VW Corrado 1.8 G60 Supercharged 1991 J Plate, 129k Miles 3rd Place Corrado @ MIVW, Holland, 2007. Corrado Forum Calender Car - November 2008. Exterior: Whole car resprayed Oct '05 - except rear panel/tailgate as had plans to modify. 17” Multi Spoke Alloys with Falken tyres Smoothed Wingmirrors DDI Blue Wingmirror Glass Passat Handles Lupo Wipers Colour coded JOM Grill/Eyebrow Rear Wiper Deleted VR6 Bonnet/Wings Smoked Repeaters Custom In-pro Rear Lights Interior: Early Black Cloth Interior REVO Boost Gauge in SWG Air Vent Pod DDI Backlit Gauges Chrome Gauge Bezels MOMO Gearknob Oily Stuff: G-Werks full blend charger - only driven for 250 wearing in miles since rebuild. SNS 5.5 Chip/ 68mm Pulley Golf G60 Front Mount Intercooler New Radiator New Water Pump Rallye Outlet Samco Hoses - Water & Charger Deleted Boost Return Supplied KW V1 Coilovers VR6 Topmounts G-Werks Full Stainless Exhaust/De Cat 305mm Brembo Cupra R Front Brakes Rear Axle overhauled, including MK4 Calipers, Goodridge conversion hoses, Powdercoated rear beam, OEM rear bushes, OEM disks & pads, new bearings. It's pretty much ready to go at the moment so I could sell as is, however I'm not certain that the value of items like the Brembo's, fresh refurbed charger and front mount will be realised in the asking price. The car needs a couple of bits finished paint wise, as there are scratches to the bumper & paint bubbling around the windscreen & front of bonnet. I don't know whether to get these done as sell at a premium, cut my losses and sell as is, remove high value items as above or break the whole thing to make the most money out of the premium parts on it. Here's a pic of how the car stood before most of the work was done and a more recent one with wheels & interior which have been removed already.. So what do I do??
  9. jom or reiger.. search ebay or venom motorsport..
  10. Cool, thought that was the case.. mine may have had a light or something in it?
  11. I've had my car key stolen from a 91 G60, which was the full plastic end not the metal vw logo.. Will it have had a transponder in it? Or can I just cut a plain key? Have been looking at the later style flip keys with two buttons, can I fit one of these and get it to read the remote central locking? Cheers Baz
  12. if you have to ask other people how to be different, you'll end up the same. both ideas have been done to death, and even first time round were pretty sh!t..
  13. After saying go later it looks like I'm gonna be flying out: 24th-26th.. Having said that, I've been enough times to miss a few things this year... would still recommend the dates above.

  15. ideally you want to be there 27-29th going back on mon 30th if poss..
  16. From Thursday to Saturday there are traders there selling new parts.. No used though.. Haven't decided what Im doing yet, have enough time off to drive or fly..
  17. Will probably pop over.. Nobody sells anything out there though. Are you planning on going show weekend or weekend before?
  18. Only part of a corrado that won't fit in a corrado is the bonnet..
  19. I use a meguiars d/a which is pretty good.. have had some great results with it so far. btw.. did you get to look into this? window trim..
  20. In need of a g60 alternator.. Don't mine if 65 or 90 amp as long as it can be posted or collected near Bristol asap. As cheap as chips or I'll return mine instead. Cheers Baz
