  1. Again follow the above.. my stepdad took his car to kwikfit for a sunday mot which only failed on items they could replace. my friends a mechanic, so did the list of jobs - half of which didn't need doing. He also found failures which did need doing that they didn't pick up.They did retest for free, but it was a lesson learnt. My MOT tester does MOT's only. They're pretty tight, but I'd much rather that than be driving a dangerous car.
  2. Welcome.. I've been to MIVW for the last 4 years. Haven't taken my car since 2007 though! Best show of the year.
  3. Parcel shelf (no holes) - £20 I'll take this.. let me know postage cost.. should be £6 if done with parcel2go. Are the straps unbroken?
  4. sell it if you do not want to keep it.
  5. My guess is this one.. same mileage and damage to front end. One-less-Storm-on-the-roads
  6. I've been cut out of the picture now though!? maybe that's just my settings.. Yan.. your acronym is misspelt! Its WPIMK!! 6 Years? Time flys..
  7. Was watching videos yesterday of landing at St Maarten.. Guess where I wanna go on holiday next year! [video=youtube;_w-9G8z4RCI]
  8. Unbelievable! Just read through the thread, OP seems to have very bad luck! Personally in the OP's position I'd be offering a full refund and getting some 2012 calenders made up with the same images and sent out as a gesture of goodwill. Hope this gets sorted for all involved. My half price boxing day crapo calender seems like a good buy now!
  9. not a major issue but worth asking.. On some threads which have replies a few pages long with attachments the paperclip goes over the last page so you end up clicking this instead. is there a way this can be changed?
  10. Good work on the G60.. did you get the one from here with the recaros? absolute steal if it was.
  11. I bought the Meguiars DA and it really doesn't touch VW paint. I've used it on other cars and been happy with my novice results, used it on the rado and it looked like it had just had a hand polish. I'm going to invest in harsher abrasives for now as I'm using Meguiars #82 & #83 but they don't seem to touch the paint. There are a few courses out there to show correct methods with a DA or rotary.. about £150 for a 2 day course, which i think would make a great birthday gift!
  12. I'll take em if you think they'll post okay..
  13. I need a front passenger side wheel arch liner for a 95 Corrado 8v.. Dont think it matters too much which model it came off though. I have no idea how best to post one, so local to Bristol preferred! Thanks Baz
  14. Of course the won't fit without adaptors! Thanks for your input though.
  15. Is the link not working for you?
  16. So further to the above post, I'm still at a 'getting the car ready' stage.. Last year what started off as a small job swapping the intercooler for the larger G60 front mount from the other G60 I bought turned into a complete nightmare. The swap itself was pretty trouble free but at the same time I fitted a set of Samco hoses. The first issue was having two hoses leftover that didn't seem to fit anywhere! The next problem was the engine overheating when driving, Nothing cured it.. Removed the thermostat - Still there. Fitted a new radiator - Still there. Fitted a new water pump - Still there. The head had been tested and was fine, so no gasket problems.. This left one possible option - leave the car in the garage and forget about it! I spoke with Darren at G-werks one evening and he said to check the bypass valve on the hoses going to and from the heater matrix. These apparently go all the time and fitting Samco hoses deletes the valve. SO THAT'S WHERE THE SPARE HOSES GO!!! Fiddly job to change them, but only left 1 inch long scar! My next problem was that the car was now SORN'd again so I haven't been able to check the car on the move. It sits comfortably at 90 degrees when stationary, but that was the case before. I also sold the wheels from it, so it couldn't go anywhere if I wanted it to. I've fitted another set of 'storage' wheels today and will get the car taxed 1st March. All being well it should be running okay again in a couple of weeks.
  17. ive got a set of 928s available..
  18. haha.. i did the same, powdercoated rear beam, new VW bushes, disks pads, MK4 calipers, hoses, brake guards & bearings.. Big job, but worth it in the long run. Use VW bearings - GSF ones are gash..

  22. So the car has now gone up for sale :( It's been fun owning and doing it up, however its definitely been distracting me from the G60. Since the last update I've had the Remote locking fitted and replaced the heater controls so they're now fully working.. Warmth at last! I also took some pics after its last clean..
