  1. I used Contractors-Solvent and a scraper to do mine.. Pull off most of the foam, let this soak into the remaining foam/glue and the rest comes of easily. Again, def put something over the whole engine bay.

    Tps

TPS can supply anything a main dealer can. Trade members can get some items are at 'parts club' discount - this is generally service items and common wearables - disks & pads etc.. These can be around 40% off main dealer. Trim pieces etc are generally only 5-15%.
  3. roses are red violets are blue ive got a knife get in the van
  4. I have a late pair of handles without locks so easy to swap over, good working order. Was going to put them up for £30 posted each or £50 posted for the pair.
  5. I really wouldnt bother.. Sell the 16v & buy a G60.
  6. 4.5 was exactly what i thought before seeing your post.. at least 4k of that is because of my seats :wherethehellarethesmilies: Good luck with the sale.. I'm sure you know what you're doing..
  7. Sweet.. I understand with spiralling costs there's a need to have adverts, however It's got to be well worth subscribing to get rid of them!
  8. Is there any chance that subscribers can run without the google adverts on the page? One just came up for a singles website.. not a good look for at work or with the mrs in the background!
  9. Like it so far.. seems much quicker? Is it possible to change the banner link back to 'new posts' rather than index? I didnt realise how much i used it!
  10. im getting my arch skins completely cut out.. they're triple skinned, so dont take well to being rolled..
  11. Have you tackled a set of doorcards yet? Have had a very good price from a trimmer but would be interested to see if youd do them?
  12. im heading to an audi breakers tomorrow so will ask if they have any lying around theyll do a deal on..
  13.  really?! i fond mine very smooth and im always impressed with the performance.. I reckon you've had life too good with the VRT to appriciate an everyday car now Kev
  14. Im pretty sure thats the exact bit i need as the arm isnt pulling the cable enough for warm air to come through.
  15. Slight development on these. Used no.2 to fix no.1 over the weekend by replacing the broken arm for the tempature control. So now have a complete fully working, extremely clean heater control set. I'm affraid now I only have parts of no.2. Which bits in particular do you need? The white cover and green illumination piece are no good as they both broke on removal. (So fragile). Have a couple of good arms left, a few cogs, various other illumination pieces etc... Okay no worries, Ill pull the controls apart again and see if i can work out the exact problem and get back to you. Cheers Baz
  16. let me know price on both bud.. 2nd prob sounds better as i think it may be a broken arm on mine that needs replacing.
  17. My 'sensible' time to sell mine was Oct 08.. The car was in great condition, well specced & I needed the money to buy my first house. I didn't sell it, I sold everything else I owned so I could keep it. Since then the house has taken most of my disposible income so the car has done lots of waiting in the garage to be loved. It's payed my back by always needing a little bit more spent on it every time I drive it.. but i'm now past the point of no return. I wont get back what I would have done 2 years ago and since then I've spent more on it.. so it may as well stay - forever? Hopefully it will be out this summer, but who knows..
  18. Do you know the difference between the two? Im guessing the bowden cable is going to be set up the wrong way? If you could get a pic from the back/ top of the unit that would be great. Will also consider fully working unit but not for crazy money! Cheers Baz
  19. Whilst you have the grease out, it's worth a small blob on the rear view mirror balljoint. Mine was solid and the whole thing came off the other day - easily prevented. Good right up!
  20. Dark blue or Black C on Bath road, Bristol about 5ish this evening.. Heading towards town.
  21. Good work.. The 8v was my 4th which is being replaced by an A3 1.8T Quattro, I've been after a 1.8T for a while so when this came up I had to go for it. I'm already considering a VR6 to replace that as a summer daily though as I've still not owned one! :cuckoo:
  22. I've completely gone off the idea of having a big engined daily. Last year I bought a Passat V6 Syncro and although only a 2.8 that thing could use fuel! 200 miles to a tank.. I dread to think what you'd get back out of a 4.2 V8, but I can guess it won't be very much! Personally I'm only going big powered on a weekend toy..
  23. WTD: Broken late heater controls.. only needed to butcher the middle cog, so this must be complete and working. Don't mind if 1-4 power switch doesn't work.. Cheers Baz
