  1. Cheers for the comments guys. I nearly didn't do a gallery thread for this car but I'm glad I did.. I'm hoping to get outside tomorrow for the polishing - thermals at the ready! Will post more pics once I'm done. Pete! How are you!? I'll let you know details when it's up for sale bud. Cheers Baz
  2. Oh and another tip.. Last year Audi had a showroom/stand with an outdoor area overlooking the track. The outdoor area was for Audi customers only and you had to show your car key for entry. it included complimentary food and drinks. This year I will be taking an Audi key with me even if I dont still have my A3. 8)
  3. the VW ones are very cheap from main dealers..
  4. I went last year on the Friday for the first time. It was easily one of the best shows I've been to, very expensive, but worth every penny. I regretted not going for two days or at least going the night before and staying over locally. We got there about 9am and the queues were miles long! Apparently, the Friday is a much quieter day and we missed seeing Ken Block which I was gutted about. I'm not sure I'd spend the extra on grandstands, which I was previously told was well worth doing. There's a field about half way up the track which you get a great view from.
  5. I worked as a sales exec for MINI from 06-09. The classic shape MINI vastly improved when the 2nd generation model came out.. When the Clubman came out I thought it was hideous and I'm still not a big fan. The countryman is even worse in my opinion and not really needed. The one project that has been floating around for years at MINI which I've still not seen any concepts for is the mini MINI. This would be a 2 seater, still a bit bigger than the old Mini and to capture the Smart/IQ market. This would make for a great car to drive if it comes about - especially in S form. If you haven't driven a hatchback shape Cooper S you really should, it's a great car.
  6. Thanks for picking the stuff up yesterday matey- sorry you were 'hurried' out of the carpark by that old bint  :) was thinking of making her wait, but thought it might be the headteacher or something! catch up properly next time bud.
  7. youve been offered a VR for a grand and a set of RS's for £500 quid?? some people get all the luck! RS are very unlikely to be 5x100 though..
  8. I've bought from these in the past few weeks.. corrado head Very good, slight issue but very quickly resolved. CazzaVR Most patient seller in the world.. Philuk Very quick delivery!
  9. So I finally managed to spend some time with the old girl today! Didn't get as much done as I'd have liked, but a day of decent weather meant I could at least get outside for a while.. Just looking forward to the longer days now as darkness stopped play. First up was a decent clean inside. I treated myself to a Henry at Christmas as their great for car vacuuming. Corrado front seats are so easy to remove there is no excuse for not taking them out to clean properly. The boot area then got a little clean, it was pretty tidy in there anyway, so just a wipe around! Once this was done all the plastics has a wipe over, the seats were then vacuumed and refitted. When I bought the car the lock barrels were missing, giving a perfect excuse to fit delocked passat rear handles. I bought a set of brand new handles, so these were due to go onto my G60.. I've pinched the old set from the G60 to go onto this one. Fitting was pretty straight forward and in removing the door card I was surprised to see the membrane has never previously been taken off! I also fitted a pair of smoked side repeaters as I really don't like the orange ones against blue paint. I still had time for an exterior clean, but not for mopping, which I'm dying to do! Next jobs are to refit a set of bumpstrips which arrived the other day & to fully mop the bodywork now the weather is improving. I'm also booking the car in to have a remote central locking kit fitted as I'm currently accessing the car from the boot! I've just bought an Audi A3 180bhp 1.8T Quattro, so the 8v is going to have to find a new home within the next couple of months. I've really enjoyed owning and pampering it, it's been an excellent daily car and I'm still surprised how well it performs for the MPG it gives back. Unfortunately though I think I've learnt that I can't own two Corrado's until the G60 is finished.
  10. Really? I think as the shows grown the standard has got so much higher. Not many cars inside now which couldn't be classed as an 'ultimate' dub in show & shine terms. Outside makes a refreshing alternative with homegrown cars and clubstands. The only thing missing is a motorsport element. Personally it's one of the only shows I will definitely go to each year. it's the main season opener, so you get a first glimpse at winter projects and the Saturday night is brilliant catching up with those you haven't seen since September. The lighting definitely doesn't help the amateur photographer so now I don't even bother taking a camera. The only thing I'd really like to see improve is the show & shine presentation. E38 has it nailed with a drive on formula, MIVW's projection screen is great, however at UD you can never hear the awards properly and even when you do unless you know the car's owner you don't know which car won anyway.

    VW Badge idea?

Personally ive never seen a played about with badge which looks right, however there is something i like about this idea..

    body work

yup, they'll both fit, the line in the early bumper curves up and round at the end, the late one fades straight out. the later one is easier to smooth because of the fade.
  13. The best bet is to comfortably open the flaps and then build up to full power. When moving flaps there should definitely be no resistance. Even a small amount of resistance could get you into lots of trouble further down the line. Lubricating the flaps could be a good idea, but not really necessary if the C is well maintained.
  14. Yan/David, can you confirm how to get the heater exchange box out? I currently have no hot/cold control so was going to try and located and remove the box for a dig around.. can this be done without removing the dash?
  15. I've been using p2g for a few years now and never had a parcel go missing.. I've always had the item dispatched through home delivery network though, not dhl. Hdn are great, i pay for a service which will collect between 7&7 but then phone the local depot in the morning and they give an exact collection time. Once the driver dropped a parcel to me after work as I wasn't going to be in when his round came through my way! I used parcel monkey to send wheels/tyres to the highlands and thier service was also good.
  16. well do what you can and let me know, could be looking at march delivery if something is organised fairly quickly..
  17. would be interesting if someone could find out if the parts used are the same.. i have a contact who could get anything over, but would be unlikely to find out part numbers etc..
  18. i have weitecs on my 8v and im really impressed with them.. may be worth you taking it for a spin one day..
  19. Pm sent with [hopefully] some helpful info, but to confirm the meet details.. yes, it's a meet organised on the Edition38 forum which happens on the first tuesday of every month at 7:30 at krispy kreme - avonmeads. there is also going to be a meet there on sunday 13th feb, so could be worth trying to get to that if you can..
  20. no probs, if i have any issues shifting them i'll break them and get back in touch.
  21. it would be great to see a pic of the back of the unit if anyone can get one? Cheers for the info. Baz
  22. can anyone confirm that they dont have a sub pre out?
  23. hmm.. sounds good.. the only problem i can see now is the likelyhood of a preout on the headunit to hook up an amp..
  24. i hate to be the bearer of bad news Kev, but my Corrado sales brochure says different.. that is a cracking find, especially if it really can be made ipod compatible.. any chance you can find out if it can be used with an iphone 3gs? I'd buy one for sure if it can.
