I've done it a few times, just try and get the old sealant as flat as possible and clean off the old sealant from around the aperture on the car's frame, then prime the metal using the primer contained within the kit. Be very carefull to make sure that the gap is correct between the door seal edge and edge of the window 'cos if you get it wrong or it moves the door seal will always rub against the window's rubber seal when closing the door..

Have you mixed up the ports on the back of the throttle body whilst changing the 1 meter ecu hose? Classic symtom is belching black smoke like your car's doing.

Hey Rich, I just sent payment for the fogs and stalk mate. -
Guys, After seeing the strange damage on the inner cv joint cups i'm wanting to uprate the inner cups, possibly one's off a 02M 'box. Will these cups fit into a 02A 'box? Is there a way getting around the fact that the 02M cups bolt into the diff? I've got a Peloquin installed that's 02A and i'd like to keep it. What other kind of mods are involved? Cheers.

This is a first for me, Yesterday i was cleaning out a pair of 02A gearbox inner driveshaft cups of their grey cv grease and happened to notice that both cups are badly damaged and have been cut into by the ball bearings within the inner cv joint!, big gouges/cuts were the ball bearings have cut into the metal. I opened up a spare 02J Passat td 'box and, low and behold, the same damage..WTF has caused this?? Any one else seen or noticed this whilst within their gearbox?

OK Rich. -
Right, Been down and came out at once, my dam camera's batt is dead. Luckly i've got an old headlamp harness taken out of a spare headlamp. So when looking at the connector from the top (the plug has a cut-out beneath the spring clip) the brown wire is fitted into the top left hand hole on the connector, Black/white tracer wire is pushed into the top r/h hole opposite the borwn wire, the yellow/black tracer wire is located in the bottom l/h hole and lastly, the side light grey/black tracer wire is fitted into the bottom r/h hole. If you can wait until tomorrow aft. when i go back down, i'll photo both of the plugs and route out my invoice from Vehicle wiring products who posted me a few of the special spade connectors for the headlamps because if you have'nt got the ref. number they could send you the wrong ones..
-
I went through the same thing with my ancient big relay headlamp loom, Whilst rebuilding the front end, after a 5 year pause(!) i could'nt remember how the dam wires were connected, after burning loads of fuses, shorts etc i ripped the whole thing out and bought a new version..

I finally manage to get a message up, fixed computer station this time and no bloody phone. Anyway, I've sent you a PM regarding payment details regarding both foglamps mate. -
I'm going down to my garage later, i'll photo you the plugs whilst i'm there. I strongly advise you to fit an uprated headlamp loom whilst your repairing the botched job on the connectors, the difference is nite and day..especially if using bright white bulbs such as PIAA's. I might have a few spare connectors too.

Quite strange, Anyone know why i can't send a reply on the 'For sale' thread when using one of these new dam smart phones? I'm using a Nokia lumia 920 phone but when i try and send a reply on one of the other areas. other than this off topic area the keyboard suddenly drops off the screen! Any tech bods out there who can shed some light on this annoying problem?

PM sent.

Defiantly a shame breaking such a nice one. If you go ahead and break her I'll have both sides fog/indicators, grille, both headlamps and possibly, if it could be couriered to Rome, the complete front bumper.
-
Don't know if this is the right place for asking this so if not please move accordingly. I've got loads of headlamps but only half a late style fog/indicator left over, Does anyone fancy swapping my 2 early or late version headlamps (I've got both types and yes, they have UK version glasses fitted, with or without electric motors for height adjusment) for a set of late fog-lamp/indicators? Let me know if you've got a spare set kicking around and fancy swappin. Cheers.

Guys, What master cylinder is needed for the Audi G60 front caliper upgrade? It's probably been asked loads but i can't find a definitive answer regarding the master cylinder bore size. I've got an ABS equipped corrado, is the MC's bore sufficent or do i have to buy a MC off an ancient Audi quattro or 100 that's got a 24mm bore MC. Anyone actually done it?
-
I've got 2 perfect headlamp lens that are useless to me 'cos they are rhd jobbies and here in Italy we're on the left.. Anyone got any spare lhd lens they wanna swap? Cheers!3
-
Alrite guys, It's probably been asked loads of times before but i could'nt find any info using the search. Seeing as it's been years since i've meddled with a 1st series corrado and i don't remember if the foglights and indicators off a 2nd series 'raddo screw straight into a first series bumper, the version that has seperate fogs/indicators. Enlighten me pleeze.

Hi Ben, I'll bag the left hella headlamp unit with no glass advertised for £7 and the r/h headlamp advertised at £12, the one with minor marks on casing. PayPal would be ideal. Cheers. -
Hi Rod, Sounds fair mate. PM me your paypal details and i'll settle up with you.
