AFAIK thats for O/E parts........fitting and painting all depends on whether you have a friendly paint-sprayer to hand as some can charge as little as £50 to do and other can easy charge over £100
-
VAG-parts quoted me around £150+vat+PnP for a new later style front driver-side wing a few months back........so i guess you're gonna be looking at easy £250 to get it done with a new panel
-
very sad mate  ...............you have a "future classic" Corrado VR6 that looks perfectly servicable,in a desirable colour too, with a FVWSH and looking pretty original too.........all to canibalise it and put it into yer Golf..........don't get me wrong i'm a big fan of the Golf VR6 but to do that to an un-bent Corrado is just criminal........there's plenty later OBD2 Golf VR's out there and plenty ppl seem to agree they make the same power as the 2.9 VR so why not keep the C VR as is and make a bit of money on it...........you'll easy get £3k upwards for it......and i'm sure you'd pick up a later OBD2 VR6 engine for the profit you make

just hearing Guy Hartley's chargedupstorm reversing into his space on the VWCCGB stand was damn impressive too 8) 8) 8)
-
i've used them too............damn impressive and no scratches either
-
right going by the fact its an L-plate i would reckon its near safe to say it will be coil-pack equipped and the engine will be the ABV VR6,2.9 as you already know...............this is just a bigger bore version of the 2.8 AAA code VR6 AFAIK with different cam-shaft profiles too...........that AFAIK i'm sure some of the other more knowledgable guys on here will correct me if i'm wrong
-
tbh it being the "featured" car in a VW advertising campaign won't make it more valueble than a same age/miles/condition/spec C G60......unless the mileage is extremely low........what it will do tho is make it more attractive for the Corrado collector out there but IMO there isnt that market out there.....as YET
-
easy one to check first too is the fuses and relays........mine had a "wee" starting problem early on this year and it was just down to a blown fuse and loose relay...............if you look under the fuse-box cover(driver-side under-dash shelf)if you spot really weird looking fuses then chances are they've never been changed

Servicing charges.... how long should it take?
vr6storm replied to yalan's topic in General Car Chat
i would imagine your 16v front engine mount would be the same as a VR6 front engine mount to fit.........this shouldn't take more than 30mins by any competeant mechanic.......ive seen it changed in 20 minutes by a tyre-fitter mate.......admittedly on a Golf VR but pretty sure the room to manouver is much the same -
well for the sake of 5-10 minutes a day max......i just have a wee container(kept in the boot) that i fill with hot soapy(cheap car-wash liquid)water and a sponge.....and just clean the dust off......stops it accumalting and staining.....and keeps the wheels nice and clean everyday
-
na wasn't "telling you off" as such just mentioning in case any other forum user(s) tried asking for copies of ETKA etc......just basically covering the forum's behind :-P
-
i should also point out too that the Corrado-forum does not condone copies of ETKA or Robert Bentley on CD being advertised on here
-
LOL......sorry about that matey  ok the BBS solitudes fitted to Golf colour concepts and VR6 highlines are the exact same as fitted to storms.........the only thing to be wary of tho is......there is also 4-stud BBS solitudes too.....normally fitted to Polo's but ive seen them fitted to Mk3.5 Golf cabriolets too
-
explanation please?.......
-
it'll either be the coil-pack or they could be meaning the little immobilser in the steering column, that reads off your ign key......as ive heard this described as a "coil" too
