That what i thought, has anyone replaced one if thats the case, how much? Luckily i'm change my dash anyway to i replace it then. So if i leave the knob on cold air and the fan turn off is the car OK to drive? pretty sure someone has cracked replacing the matrix with the dash in-situ...........cant remember where the info is tho
-
ahhh well if you are going to be replacing it anyhow......then i suppose a bodge job is worth a try
-
bear in mind too that if any bit of grit or foreign material wont exactly do your rack insides any good  so might be as well to bite the bullet and do the seals/rack/etc rather than try a heath-robinson repair

its feckin pretty poor that even with the recent accident information collated from all the police forces that shows that speed isnt the main cause of fatalities(7th IIRC) that they still pursue this near zero-tolerance of it

dont strictly know for sure if its for sale(its maybe getting fixed)......as i spotted it at a guy's house who buys, sells and fixes motors.......anyway its a bordeaux pearl metalic one with factory cloth recaro's in it.........it used to belong to a mate(who also happens to be Skid's neighbour)....anyway he sold it about 2 years ago with circa 110k on the clock tho with a very recent top-end rebuild......when i had a look by today it has now got a dent in the front pass.side wing and another dent on the bonnet but other than that is pretty clean
