-
damn nice looking motor you've got there lee!! 8) and that grille is actually starting to grow on me too
-
imo your bro will be lucky to get even £8k for it............vr6's and all corrado's in general are falling price wise.......at the end of the day the youngest possible corrado that you'll find will be a 96P-plate(they do exist btw)so 7 years old if i were you i would offer him £7k and see how he reacts then wait to see if he can sell it for more also most insurance companies won't insure vr6's unless they have a cat1 alarm fitted so thats not really an extra that should be counted as it would be unsaleable if it didn't have it fitted

even £9k-£10k these days is a bit optimistic for a storm, unless its a mega-lo-miler......under 30k miles....also storms do not come with Air/Con as standard it was a dealer fit option.....believe me the storm is actually only a leathered up vr6 from new with a colour-coded grille and solitude alloys which are all easy enough to add to a standard vr6......and of course those rare badges.........i consider mine to be in good(though not A1)condition,all mine is really needing is a few minor bits of paint(stone chips and minor scratches) and the solitudes refurbishing(£1k in total paint+wheels)to be classed as immaculate if i did all that i wouldn't think of asking more than £8.5k and thats with 53k miles 1 previous owner and fvwsh....so £9k for a 94 m-plate(without leather too) is way ott imo

right for all you lads and lassies going down from aberdeen/n e scotland to star-performance for the rolling-road day on sunday march 16th if you would like to travel down in a wee convoy then get yourselves to the duthie park(riverside drive entrance/exit) for 8:45 am and we'll set off at approx 9am to get down to star for just after 10:30am...........if you are going on the rolling-road make sure your tyre pressures are correct(which you should do for any  trip and that you have plenty fuel in your tank  ) and for the rest of you going....look forward to seeing you all down there 8)

agree there kev m8.....but its hi-mile avg cond e-36 m3 money and low-mile A1+ condition storm money...so its not really a fair comparison also if a vr6 is expensive to maintain/repair the m3 can be hideously expensive... £1500 for the vanos springs to mind, also standard tyres on the vr6 are pretty cheap whereas std tyres on the m3 can be pretty dear too...especially the back ones...also another thing that puts me off the e-36 m3 is the fact that its too easy to tart up any e-36 coupe to look-like the m3 and there is literally tens of thousands more e-36 coupes than Corrados.....also you still see good e-30 m3's around the £10k mark too.....though these are more driver involved than the e-36 and are more desirable to the enthusiast admittedly, but makes you wonder why the newer more powerful model is as cheap to buy  :? anyway imo top-price i would pay now for a storm would be £9k and it would have to be under 30k miles with total vwsh with not a scratch on it and with a totally immaculate interior too just my £0.02ps worth kev m8  -

vr6storm replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
yeah pau1 told me about it....they have several pics of my car from a "me & my car" feature in the daily record's motoring supplement which was run last year........and the daily record is part of the mirror group however they stated that last of the line vr6's with 60k would be worth £5k   !!!.......................although mine is not in mint condition(more like good condition) it has fvwsh and "only" 53k on it i wouldn't want anything less than £7.5k for it......which imo isn't being greedy and of course i have no intention of selling it at all either. its funny too that only a few years back quentin wilson was saying if you find a storm that you should lock it away in a garage as its a sure-fire future classic -
oops forgot to say welcome to the forum Zac..........i'm sure you'll find lots of information that'll be of good use to you and i'm sure you'll be able to help us out likewise

i'm pretty sure SLC means Sport/Light/Coupe....though i could well be wrong!

£9000 ? - I didnt think ANY Corrado is worth that kind of money these days!!!! Im seeing storms going for £7k ! agree a little bit with scott about the £9k  though most of the £7k storms are hi-milers or in poor condition..........but steveb you are paying ott  even for a mint lowish mile vr6,alright it has all the desirables(apart from leather)but these really add little value to it imo, fair enough it saves you from spending on getting these mods, the price your brother is asking even a garage wouldn't charge you that much and they would also give a warranty too....which is an essential with any vr6 especially one at £9k
-
best thing to do is contact niko on this forum,he's a lot nearer you than the rest of us.....as he's in the same country as you!! anyway he knows the people at rosstech who do the software/hardware you'll need
-
Beg to differ mate ;) I have a '92 registered VR that has all the '93 characteristics. sorry meant all 92 model year......if yours was built after the german traditional end of july holiday then its classed as being a 93 model year.....august92 onwards build dates btw
-
don't forget the poor vr6 owner here boys
-
in case you are near aberdeen jill.......dubcharged doesn't mean pitstop in aberdeen........its a totally different company he's speaking about
-
osnabruck actually....all corrados's were built at karmann's factory in osnabruck not wolfsburg..............i'll get me coat  LOL
-
hi jill, welcome to the forum! when you say the north of scotland...whereabouts do you mean?? the reason i ask is that there is the vwccgb(scottish region) rolling road day on the 16th of march at star-performance and there will be a few of us going down to it from aberdeen.....is that near you? don't worry if you are not a member(yet!!!)you'll be more than welcome to come to it,and hopefully a few of the other g-60 owners will be more than happy to help point you in the right direction, and of course star-performance are a wee bit nearer the north of scotland than bedrock, though munkay used bavaria in aberdeen so that might be even nearer to you hth
-
hi tonih if its a finnish spec then the sunroof might have been an option as it was a standard fit on uk-spec vr6's.....all 92 vr6's will also have the earlier style dashboard(mk2 golf-type heater controls, white needles on instruments etc) hth
-
right according to kev finlay who has organised the rolling-road day it is 10am that the fun commences so you can all maybe have a bit extra in bed
-
yes they are the agents for AmD up here in scotland but they don't have the facilities to actually make the chip specifically for my car, star will only get your ecu number and get AmD to do a chip that will match that batch of ecu's,whereas AmD will get my car on the rolling-road and and "blow" a chip specifically for my C's characteristics  .....so it wont be a compromise....also the chip will cost the same the only extra will be the fuel cost but as i'll be swinging by mj-interiors to pick up my m8's anniversary interior 8) he's sharing some of the fuel costs too,but as we are setting off 5am-ish i cant make it past glasgow for my uncle, otherwise i would :(
-
hey bananaman..........i wouldn't leave going to AMD too late....i've heard a wee rumour that they are going away from the older stuff for tuning and are going to be concentrating more on modern engine management systems(eg drive-by-wire stuff).....i'm booked in for the middle of april for a custom re-chip through my mates recomendations(he's used them on several vag cars without problems and good power gains) hth
-
i had my oil cooler seals replaced but i only had an external oil leak.......mark16v's one appears to have corroded on the inside(which is quite common seemingly)so just fitting new seals won't make any differance hth
