  1. think yer getting mixed up with the grey VR6 thats for sale now and again as that does have Fiat Coupe lights........the yellow monstrosity above pre-dated the Fiat Coupe by a good 4-5 years afterall
  2. VW have just released a supercharged/turbocharged Golf over here btw.........tho its only a 1.4L engine it produces 170bhp,the supercharger gives it boost till about 3k revs and then the turbo takes over.............back in the 80's Lancia had the supercharger/turbocharger combo in their ill-fated Gruppe B S4 rally car,it was producing silly power tho
  3. just the lack of air-cooled noise and some minor anomolies
  4. EXACTLY youve hit the nail on the head there,my car when new in 1995 was £63k..........Jays in 1990 would have been easy £55k-ish
  5. well i've had my 993 Carrera 4 now since october,I can't see it being that much more to run that a 964 Carrera4,so.........mpg i get about 21-23mpg round town etc in the Corrado whereas the 993 is probably 16-18mpg doing the same miles, insurance is group 20 and basically if yer under 30 its gonna be a nightmare to get covered, most places insist its garaged too btw servicing at an OPC is EXPENSIVE!!!........the 964 needs a bit more servicing wise than the 993 too,as its got mechanical adj on the tappets, whereas the 993 is hydraulic, and tyres are meant to only last 10k miles on the rear(although 4WD its still rear biased and there's an engines weight back there),brakes are also almost double the cost if not more than the C,at the end of the day a corrado is just a Sports Coupe based on a hatch/saloon,whereas the 911 is an out n out Sportscar so obviously its gonna cost more to run and keep in fine fettle..............worth every penny tho
  6.   sorry but you need to know as much as possible about yer dream cars
  7. if its a twin turbo 911 it'll be a 993/996/997............you not getting confuddled with a 964 Turbo 2???(which is only a single turbo btw)
  8. it'll be group 20...........even my 924S is group 19
  9. cos its ala Corrado and electric..........the 964 models onward had the electric one has standard, the only ones with a fixed whaletail/spoiler were the Turbo variants of the 964/993 and the 993RS/GT2
  10. NGK's are the best plug to get for the VR btw..............able to withstand the heat better
  11. true but i bet they save somebody running up yer arse when you reverse out of a space
  12. looking good jay...............the grin left yer face yet???

    Cleaning alloys

when i had BBS splits on my Compact 5yrs ago.............i got into the regime of cleaning them every day/night with soapy water(cheap car wash shampoo),wheels never really got dirty enough to need agitating with anything stronger,I also discovered by accident that the Auto-Glym engine and machine cleaner is rather good at cleaning carpet/fabric,as i spilt some on a dirty floor mat by accident discovered the spill the next day and washed the mat with water and it was like new
  15. Vibratech do the front engine mount £120-ish IIRC
  16. its not so much the tool for removing the plugs..........its the plug leads that are the pain to get off without the tool, make sure you get the metal tool other than the feeble plastic one too
  17. the clutch creeking could be nothing more sinister than the plastic trim at the bottom of the dash flexing.........had it in mine a few years back and it was driving me mad til i sussed it out as for the running probs.............if its been sitting for 4 yrs previous to the 2 months you've driven it,its probably needing a good service, new plugs,oil,filters(oil/air/fuel),it could even be needing new plug leads
  18. an ALL-time great Corrado wheel combo!!!! looking very nice jim
  19. although ALL 92J's and some 92K's 2.0l's will have the slider controls might be the possibility yours is a 93 reg'd one but with an early 92 build date.......thats if you've sliders of course
  20. like that..............love that colour btw
