is that sparkle silver finish I see before me...............
-
sorry but much as i like the 928's at the end of the day its a GT..........its not something thats suited to hustling along a B-road.........so not exactly a real car........unless you spend all yer time on the motorway or autobahn.........FFS the bulk of them were auto,so that tells ya a lot about them :D the Boxster is quite an accomplished all-rounder that has a bit of an image problem due to their relative affordablity
-
...........which is a cavalier in a party frock
-
now thats what i'm wanting mine to look like Diggerbucket..............you fancy doing a set for me???........as I'm a lazy bugger at the best of times if you do work out a price for me please as ive got a spare set of lights dying for a makeover :D
-
na Kev i'm a fan of the Boxster red leather interior.........it looks classy, whereas some of the grey interiors that they come in are just cheap n nasty................there is a Nephrite green leather thats just plain wrong tho
-
alas kev those days are a practically a distant memory now..............there's more Boxster rivals these days too, whereas when the Boxster came out the SLK/Z3/Honda S2000/TTR etc weren't out,so they won't make more than £5k over list unless they've already got £10k+ of extras on them..............its scary too, that you literally spend close on £60k+ speccing up a new Boxster...........thats close to basic 911(997) money btw
-
was think deja vu here too
-
Ive got whats known as RSR's on mine(basically the std boxes cut open and a heap of restrictive bits removed- http://www.carnewal-europe.com/main.htm ) and also have the air-filter cover "swiss-cheesed"......big improvement soundwise and seems to help throttle response too. the Boxster should feel rigid btw........it was afterall designed as a convertible from the outset unlike most other convertibles that are coupe based the poor man's Porsche I suppose comes from the fact the Boxster is the entry level Porker......likewise the 924 when that was entry-level Porker and the Corrado was called it,due to the fact it was going to be competing with the 924S til Porsche pulled the plug on the 924S in 88 btw all cars with A/C etc drip condensation so its just not Boxster specific

trig you got any pic of yer rear lights????...........thinking about doing all-red on mine too -
I wouldn't say they are bland, but there's certainly quite a few of them on the road,so its maybe a case of familiarity breeding contempt,I almost ordered a new 987 Boxster S and had my spec sorted out too, then realised that £41k was a bit much, especially when although slow depreaciators, there would still be an element of depreaciation involved, took the advice of a mate who posed the Q which would you rather see in yer garage a 911(be it 993/996) or a Boxster...........so to me it was a case of fufilling a dream(and saving £15k at the same time)...so far even with a slipping clutch.....its been great. .............and for all those who compare the Corrado with the Boxster.......much as I love the Corrado, lookswise, handling, performance etc the Boxster S beats it everytime.........the only weakness the Boxster really has is the "hairdresser"/"I couldn't afford a 911" image that isn't helped by certain tall n short TV presenters..........I certainly would still consider a Boxster S if ever I grew tired of the 993
-
tis the joys of porker ownership i'm afraid to say...........my clutch is starting to show signs of slipping on my 993.........with it being 4WD its an engine out job which the local OPC want £1500 to do with another £500 on top if it needs a flywheel.....
-
err no still with the council
-
err AFAIK i'm still a litho printer
-
they can go at all sorts of miles btw..............there's no hard and fast rule for them going in low milers over higher mile 986/996's,and even with FPSH they can still go.......its quite shocking tbh that a company like Porsche have this sort of problem, which funnily enough according to them only affects a small percentage of the water-cooled lumps.......IIRC Porsche are on their 5th or more design of seal for the RMS,even more worrying than the RMS problem tho is this lovely problem that can and does occur more than Porsche would like to admit. http://www.autofarm.co.uk/new.php3/silsleeve.html then again its probably down to Porsche cutting costs over the years, seemingly the air-cooled engines took approx 7hours to make, whereas the M96 water-cooled lumps only take approx 1hour to do.
-
why?? :D
-
OPC warranty i hope.................as no other warranty company seemingly will cover the RMS on the 986/996 water-cooled engine and FWIW the Boxster S came with a 6-speed manual as standard
-
sorry but E2 ADO is pretty poor for a P/P........best get a plate with yer initials and before anyone picks me up on A2 GON(no connecton with my name etc) on my Storm........that was already on a car I bought and all its cost me in the near 12years ive had it has been £205 (putting it on retention £105+ 4 years of keeping it on retention £100 on top) the plate on my 993 tho is car specific(C4=Carrera 4) and also my initials(RGK).........all thats cost me has been £399
-
watched a "ahem" pirated copy of it last night.........quite good
-
that Munkay's new ride per chance??? nice car at any rate...........I hope he's got a Porsche warranty on it tho
-
