  1. my mate has a long term loan of my C at the moment and he's quite handy with the tools ect but this has got him stumped he went to my C today and lowered the pass.side window,he then tried to raise it later on and nothing happened,he then tried lowering the driver side one and nothing is happening,he's checked all the fuses and he's changed the control module with another good one and still nothing,he then tried the total closure and its not even locking or making an attempt to central lock :? ..........tho it does total close the sunroof as per normal anyone got a clue as to what this could possibly be a sign of??? TIA
  2. so how do you know its a Coco Chanel one then????.......i thought even if it was tired that that would be a major identification part of it
  3. of course tho bear in mind the difference in 10+ years of Turbo-development,i would imagine the S3 hasn't got nearly as much lag as a 964 Turbo
  4. yip scary running costs or rather repair bills..............mechanic at the place my bro-in-law used to get his HGV's sorted had one and quickly got rid when he blew a hole in the head.......IIRC Mercedes wanted £7k+ for a new head!!!!!!........that was on the 2.3 tho
  5. up the budget £3k and probably the cheapest 996 model 911 is available http://url.the-corrado.net/57880a
  6. the only 993 you'll get for £15k is a fake one based on an 80's 911 3.2 carrera
  7. only thing tho...............there ain't any Coco Chanel upholstery on it?? as per this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1986-VOLKSWAGEN-G ... dZViewItem or this one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mki-Volkswagen-Go ... dZViewItem
  8. you've fairly lost it since becoming a pedestrian :geek:
  9. errr S4 is V6 bi-turbo and then a 4.2V8..........i take it yer meaning S3
  10. is he the boy who had his carrera GT painted for £9k that has a running report in EVO mag????
  11. git git git git :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D what was it in for btw????
  12. it could be a case of wanting better cooling, and owners not wanting to pay the cost of getting the grille colour coded, the grille can also have broken tabs from coming off and on too.......so sometimes meaning a new grille
  13. yeah but its not really a storm-only thing i'm pretty sure its a model year thing..........its not like its gonna detract from the value......mine has been replaced purely in the interests of better airflow to the radiator
  14. you'll find the VR is notoriously difficult to "tune-up" cheaply tho one of the cheapest things to do on it is to fit a K&N panel filter......you'll be lucky if you notice 1bhp improvement but there might be a better throttle response and induction note
  15. yip thats RoW(rest of the world ) power.....US spec has 174bhp
  16. only difference between a Storm grille and a VR6 grille is the colour coding.........and they only cost £23+VAT+PnP from GPC(unpainted that is)
  17. it could have just been retro-fitted for cosmetic reasons too tho,as the C VR6 was launched in Sept 91 in Germany IIRC......so wouldn't have been available on an H-reg'd Corrado
  18. yer late tank was also available on late G60's
  19. the campaigns have all got the early interior, there's a few early VR6's(K-plates btw) ive seen with the early interior too, think the 93model year ones(so ones built from August 92-July93) have the later interior, the C VR from memory was launched in summer 92 so that early ones would have more than likely been 92 model year ones hence early interior but cos of the VR facelifted exterior

well if you can't find a G60 in your budget then a VR is going to be worse, don't fall into the trap of seeing some cheap VR's for sale and thinking they won't need anything done to them
  21. the only differences between the 92 and 95 will be 92-distributer equipped,90mm front spoiler, possible early interior,colour-coded rear Corrado badge 95-coil-pack equipped,50mm front spoiler, later interior,ECU/ign switch immobiliser(tho this might be a UK-only thing),chrome rear Corrado badge as for the chains the 95 could be needing them more than the 92 it can depend on how the car has been treated too,as much as age
  22. the ones i rerto fitted only take seconds to get to full brightness, compared to factory fitted ones my father-in-law has in his RR its only slower by 1-2 secs
  23. its a Coupe/Convertible just VW joining the CC bandwagon that Peugeot started a few years ago......its basically replaced the Golf cabrio of old as the Beetle cabrio is a bit on the tight side for rear passengers.........size wise yes its longer than the Golf but upto the original mk1 Golf Cabrio most convertibles were saloon based then the mk1 Golf appeared and then they started doing the hatch based ones, now its almost full circle and thats why its based on the new Jetta tho thats really based on a Golf platform so go figure
