  12. Breaking VR6 Corrado - All parts available I've decided that I simply won't have the time to finish my project so have decided to break her. Completely rebuilt VR6 engine which has been stripped, dipped, painted and rebuilt with new bearings all round, bolts, gaskets, piston rings, honed cylinders etc. Complete with dipped head which was skimmed and fitted with new valve guides and then professionally rebuilt. It's all back together now with new timing chains and guides. I have most (if not all) ancillary parts available for sale too but do not come with the engine if bought separately. Engine on it's own would be just what is currently fitted. Car has black Karman leather interior all-round which is in great condition. Feel free to message me and/or come and take a look. 13. MY FAULT - I SUGGESTED THE MAF! There you go :) ISV-wise simple enough to remove - couple of hoses and a lead then use carb cleaner overnight to soak it. There give it a rinse with cleaner again in the morning - refit and it should behave itself a little better. Jim
  14. My bad Paul, so used to my VR6. I don't think the 16v comes with a MAF. Doh! Sorry.
  15. I think (from looking at the Bentley) that the red wire with yellow stripe would have gone to the alarm system and is the central locking activation. Cover the end up and leave it; I don't think it will cause a problem. Your clocks losing power and resetting means that the permanent live circuit has been broken, either by the perm live feed or the ground being loose or disconnected. I would check your earths still as it sounds like its still the issue. Jim
  16. Hello mate. I'll check the Bentley book later today to see if I can identify it although in the meantime if you're getting 12v off it then its a switched live and at the very least needs to be covered up or it'll short on the car. I'll drop you a line later when I've found out what it is. All the best.
  17. Sounds like connection problems. Stick a multimeter on it, you already have a fair idea that its not the pump so work your way back up the switched live and see if you're getting any current. That's the firs thing I would do after the stuff you've already done.
  18. ah mate unfortunately not. it looks like just the lower half. im starting to wonder whether it'll fit but I just dont think it will. it needs to be off a rado rather than a golf Im afraid, but thanks for messaging anyway. Anyone else got one?? Jim
  19. Perfect thanks. Do you want to PM me your details and I'll send some money - Paypal, bacs whatever you like. Thanks again. Jim
  20. Awesome, let me know what you want including delivery! Thanks, lifesaver. Cheers Jim
  21. I agree, they were never required for UK emissions anyway.
  22. Having just stripped down my spare fan assembly to get a quieter motor I removed the belt whilst the assembly was off the rad. I can't imagine it's that easy in situ but I haven't tried. Removing the assembly shouldn't be that difficult leaving the rad in place though I wouldn't have though, it's only 3-4 bolt I think. I've also now got a spare belt but was gonna keep it. If you can't get one from the stealers then let me know - it's used so I don't know how 'pliable' it is or how likely it is to break though. Best of luck. Jim
