Yeah i know thats prob the best thing to do.can anyone recomend good VW specialist in glasgow area?how much should i expect to pay for the once over?anything else i should ask them to check?the car takes bout 2-3 seconds longer than it should to hit 60 annoying!!also from about 70-100 feels sluggish i had a 1.4 306 and from anywhere above 70 i recon it would leave my C for dead.

iv got a 1.8 16V its not as quick as it should be i kno its an old car but its only touching 80K miles.any ideas what this could be or ways to find out? thanks

tonight i noticed that my fogs wernt working (front & back).they were all working a few days ago.surely this must be the fuse and not all of the bulbs,has thia happened to anyone b4?does anyone know what fuse controls the fogs?or where i could find out?also when i got the car i noticed moisture in one of the front fogs so i removed it let it dry out but is got moisture in it again any ideas??thanks

hi,just noticed that the passengers speaker in the dash has blown.going to get one out another C tomorro.has anyone replaced this one before any tips not wanting to make a mess of it.how du get it to pop out and is there anything i should watch out for?

Rams,sorry im tired and brain isnt working properly.so if i get a panel i dont need to remap or adjust the fuel air mix?

hi,still back to my original question on the previous page.do BMC make a panel filter for a 1.8 16V??if not is there any alternative and what would it involve??

thanks for your replies guy's,ehm thats me bugrd,cant think of any other reason why its not as quick as it should be.does anyone know what kind of results i should expect from a pressure test?just to see if its running at full power.

probaly around 50mph,its the only thing that i can think of thats preventing it getting there in around eight seconds.dont kno if it the standard gear box or not.

yeah seriously considering this.im a bit miffed though above u said BMW filter,du not mean BMC?yeah id be able to get cold air feed to it no problem,thats the fun part.would this filter just go striaght in to my air box (panel) no fiddling around.what about the fuel lines that sit on top of the air box are they in anyway related to the air box?if it isnt a panel filter what happens with these? cheers for your help.

hi,iv got a 1.8 16V it doesnt do sixty in second and im convinced this is why it takes over ten seconds to get there.is there anyone out there who can either confirm that theres does the same or different?would getting the gearbox reconditioned help this or can it be adjusted?cheers

hi guys,been thinking of getting a K&N for my 1.8 16V,its already got the box drilled like swiss cheese,dont think im going to bother getting a K&N after reading this.i am curious about this BMC thing.do they produce one that would fit my C?if so is it panel or is there much modding needed?

Yeah thats the one,just a wee sensor.got a new one for £15+vat from a stealer. worked fine after that,but recently the fan has been making a hell of a noise so i took it apart today and stripped the motor bit of grease and put it back on,worked fine.but think its conked out now,so prob be heading to a scrapy soon for a new fan motor.i was thinking about getting the head skimmed dont suppose uv got urs skimmed?just looking to get better throttle response,but without spending big bucks.already swiss cheesed the air box but not put a K&N in yet.what were u stripping the head for?prob best to pm back since going off the topic a bit.b

on my 1.8 16V C,the warning light for the water temp/level keeps coming on.i checked the level it was fine and checked the fan its working fine too. i drained the water out today and flushed it to cleen all the gunk out.put some anti freeze in and added water again to the mark.i went for a wee spin the light popped on again,iv put it down to the water not being filled back up again to the right level,obviously i will keep topping it up after the next few journeys till its at the mark permanently.just wondering if anyone has had problems with the sensor?the water temp is fine and engine isnt over heating.

my c takes over ten seconds to hit sixty,im convinced that this is du to it not hitting sixty in second.its a 1.8 16v.anyone know if there does this or if it can be adjusted?

wats the best mod that can be done for £200,be it styling performance etc,iv got a 1.8 16v.got some spare chash not sure if should keep it and try to add to it or what.

does anyone know ruffly what a full set of leathers would cost,nothing to special?and how much would a retrim in leather cost?
