Yes I have. I took my car in for a new ignition barrel, when I picked it up immobiliser didn't work. They also had the 'not us' attitude. They said it wasn't their fault because it was an after market immobiliser. I wrote a really rude letter to VW UK and said I was disgusted that VW would employ incompetent mechanics that didn't even know how to work an immobiliser. VW wrote back after contacting the dealership and gave me the same crap excuse. I was a little angry to say the least!! :bad-words:

5.1 average score for a storm?? However, 4 out of the top 5 are corrados!! I bet that's everyone on here giving them 10's

I need new brake pads and discs on the front on my '91 1.8 16v. Is it best to get them from GSF or will halfords do? And which ones do I need from GSF, I have looked on website but I don't know which ones from the long list I need. What do you guys recommend?

Yep, I get wierd looks too. When I got my corrado my boyfriends friend said ' thats quite a good car for a girl'. I didn't know whether to take it as a compliment or an insult!!

I'm female and have owned my first C for about 6 months now. Its a 1.8 16v and I'm already thinking about selling it for a g60 or a vr6. I think it's safe to say I've caught the bug too! :D

I have a spare alternator from a 1.8 16v, if it's compatible with a 2.0 16v, it's all yours for the cost of postage.

Ta very much, Supercharged, I'll follow the instructions in golf haynes, I assume the 16v golf is the same. Do I have to get the G12+ stuff from VW or can I get it from GSF?

Ok now I'm going to be really stupid :wink: I've looked in golf haynes manual, it doesn't mention water pump, is coolant pump the same thing?

Is this the same for 1.8 16v? Is it an easy job to do? Plus, forgive for being stupid but what is G12+?

Mine is doing this too (1.8 16v). I thought it was the alternator but I've put a different one on and it still does it, I was just going to post message and ask about it and I find this thread. :D Will change the water pump.

I'm 24, as you can see on the left! My first car at 17 was a 1.2 nova :oops: (hey, it was given to me) Then a 1.4 clio when I was 19 Then my corrado 16v which I bought in September when I was 23. -
Respray both sides to cover chips and where its been keyed Get alarm/immobiliser Sort exhaust out (if anyone sits it back, exhaust vibrates on rear axle) Swap interior to black Recondition cylinder head Get a new stereo (if you try skip tracks it goes crazy and spits the disc out) Fix sunroof Get a complete set of matching locks (carry three keys at moment) But first on list is get a better paid job so I can afford all this!
