our golf gti did 99.9 mpg all the time......the MFA was broken!! Hank Marvin I haven't had to buy too many parts for the 16v but places like GSF are reasonably priced for parts etc. It'd be nice if my car went to a forum member, someone that's going to love her and look after her!!

All the electrics work except that pesky sunroof, tilts but doesn't slide. I have only had the car since September, it had a service in August before I bought it. About a month ago, I did an oil and filter change. I've taken it to a local mechanic that I know and trust and he looked her over and he's sorted out a few little niggles that she had. I love driving this car, I love the way it handles and driving it never fails to put a smile on my face!! I'm hoping the VR will do the same!! If you're interested come and have a look, I'm only a couple of hours away.....

I suppose colours are going to very due to fading/age etc. or maybe it is just lighting. And yes, it does look good lowered 8) When we went to see it and parked my valver next to it, you could clearly see that they look a lot better lowered!

It is a really good car, in really good condition, since I've had it I've sorted out a few little niggles and it runs great now. The only bad point is that it has been keyed. I think that in every generation there are people that are foolish enough to drink and drive, however most of the people that I know that do it are in the 40-60 age bracket. My dad did it for years and then last year got caught and lost his licence, I have no sympathy for him, it serves him right and now he has to ride his bike everywhere. I am glad he got caught before he hurt himself or anyone else.

I suppose leather increases the price of the car so needs to be declared??

Wish someone would offer me the same money for my valver as we paid for the VR!!

It has the original speedlines, are they classed as a mod? I thought a mod was something different from manufacturers standard but they came with alloys didn't they? ps. Thanks! 6 days and counting.....

Saw a L reg blue vr6 parked along the A34 yesterday afternoon in Manchester. Drove past twice, first time in the black 16v, second in the blackberry vr6......

I need to know what counts as a modification so I can tell the insurance company. I want to be completely honest with them because I know what they're like and if I had a claim and hadn't declared something they'd try and wriggle out of paying. Anyway as far as I know, the car has koni adjustable suspension, a K&N induction kit and samco purple coolant hoses. All these need to be declared don't they?
