  1. Oetinger i thought were a tuning company like GTI Engineering/BRM motorsport/TSR etc but in Germany. Not sure what bits they've done on this puppy, but they are a classy outfit eg Brabus for merc etc
  2. Thought i was above this, but obviously not ! Any more for any more?
  3. Nice one Dom. SAXO with full cat back = Wasp in a tin can
  4. I'd get one, but i'm saving for a boot badge that say "fuel injection".
  5. Im trying not to say yes Chris, as i feel i have already abused your good will enough! .............But probably yes !
  6. I think at the top Dr Matt may have been refering to me! I had this shinanigans and would'nt beleive it was the water pipe to the back of the head, as it only showed one tiny white blob. Caused all manner of problems and turned out you were all right and i was a muppet!
  7. Everyone talking about my car, i feel kinda proud! It did drop slightly mommentarily but 2cc stuck a suport under it the whole time we worked on it. As most things on the car its on 123,000 and 11yrs so it aint done bad! I expect henny you are right, after that much abuse and heat those wires are probably as brittle as glass by now!
  8. Kev, wise words. NOTHING ive ever seen beat the speedos for handling and weight. Part of me says dont do it there a prob made of lead or cast iron, but I think they will look quite nice on the C. They curve slightly out from the midle and have a speedline esq mini dish lip. ANYONE KNOW HOW TO GET VW CENTRE CAPS FOR UM?? Dont really fancy having Hunter writen in the middle! My camber is way way way on the neg side so im not burning the new tyres out but ill lump them on at the weekend and post some picks. Then its up to vince to straighten things up, fit new WBs, sensors, pinking, RR. Bar the mocal, i will be well on my way to being half happy with it soon!
  9. Nope, brand spank. ebayage. Dont know how to link, but try a search on "16" 5x100" and they are buy it now. There now one less set listed! Picks to follow this weekend, hurrah!
  10. App there not that light which is why there cheap i guess
  11. Cheers guys, they seem like such a barg! and yes Chris, shes nice and low now with MASSIVE negative camber until next week for the touring car tyre munching look! Not good breaking in the wet though oooooow!
  12. actually they are 7.5j by 16s, so i guess 205/45s What you think then guys? £295 with tyres!
  13. Stealth have the daddy of all machine so im told?
  14. any offers? sorry being impatient!
  15. Didnt touch the lambda Hen. Well, i did actually touch it and looked at it and thought, mmm nice wonder what that does! Might explain my pinking before too? Kev mentioned possible hole in the flexi joint confusing the lam?
  16. 7x16 ET 38 for a VR with 195/45 16s. Is that tyre wide enough or is 205 better and where would the offset sit with a 7J? Ideally want them sat slightly further out than the speedlines but still clear the back arch if you know where im coming from!? Will the speedo be out on 205s if so by how much? Cheers guys Nick
  17. and i spent most of my time eating and saying "whoss this do then?"
  18. We fitted new axel bushes, shocks and springs and the miltek. Due to VAG's great servicing, we had to drill out the front strut! Then chop it half to get the old spring out because I have the later top cups that dont fit the HRs, then order the new cups and pul it all out again. VAG had also rounded off the alen bolts on the compensator so we had to push one of the axel bush bolts through and chop the end off and then poke it back the wrong way to get the beam off! Somone had welded the exhaust up too! But i have to say the whole system was date stamped 4/94, hows that for build quality! and the axel bushes were not fun but that a story on its own. Front mount didnt get a look in. Unfortunately one of the new TA's as nacked so thats coming out again! Also im getting huge backfires on the overun and 14mpg all of a sudden, but the pinking has gone! Car feels a lot more lively with the zorst change i have to say though!
  19. They are only £50 from GS mate, but due to 2cc's genious we got away with it, JUST!
  20. I won't go into too much detail, mainly becuase i still don't have the technical knowledge to, but suffice to say Chris and Yan have gone massively out of their way to help me out.  Sacrificing 2 1/2 weekends and some very late nights and humouring my low mechanical IQ the whole time, my drivers seat is now a much better place to be! 8) Nothing like a few days bolt rounding to make some good friends (rather than loose them i hope!) Thanks really doesn't cut it I know, but your both on my xmas card list thats for sure!
  21. 1. Just a quick thanks to John for sorting me a VERY last minute next day delivery on a full Milteck system. Phoned him well late as i knew the beam would be off the car and the old lot looked foobar so I called the man. Don't know how but it came seriously well package the next day. 2. For allowing me to impose on his sunday when i got really stuck with the beam bushes. Nothing in it for him and he did'nt know me from Adam! But he saved the day. It was nice to speak to another like minded person who is so enthusiastic about the cars, meeting new peeps and just having fun. Which is what its all about IMO 8) THANKS JOHN :D Nick
  22. Cool budy, dont bust a gut over it, but it would be nice to see another friendly face there! Im dragging a mate along now too. He's got a mk2 with your engine in, but hes just having a rr session. Im after WBs, pinking issues and RR. Plus whatever else falls of between now and then!
  23. Thats a shame Mr beige, as Kev said i am taking my first trip up to Stealth that week. Unfortunately its Friday 5th, which i cant change due to work commitments the other days. Any chance you can move to Friday!! Be good to catch up with another C owner!?
  24. As you say, everyone makes mistakes, its how they sort things afterwords thats important. Cars are fickle creatures at the best of times. Top post, im looking forward to taking mine there even more now.
