killed my golf runabout( and nearly me as well)
NickVR6 replied to carpy25's topic in General Car Chat
Blimmey mate, quite taken aback by those picks. Very pleased to here your on the mend, that really could have been a lot worse. Get yourself a sony PSP and put your feet up (will hurt less too as lower blood presure to your foot!) While your off you could get someone round to sort that carpet too! Sorry, didnt want to make light of a serious subject but could'nt resist that one. I only feel ok about saying it as mine is an orange and brown shag pile afair! Take it easy bud and count your lucky stars. Glad your both still here. Nick -
Nice car mate, looks really clean and straight. and welcome

I sold my last mk2 gti for £3250 14 months ago on 99k. It was very tidy, as is your C. If mine was worth that yours is any day of the week with that mileage and a nice colour too. Don't sell it, you really will regret it when you decide you want one again and can never find one as good. If you need to free up some cash, why not sell your leather seats, not that i'd want them though ...... lol

Dinkus, as i've said before, those dodgey 16s you got from Kev s.ck big time they need to go. If that happens let me know! Would i be right in thinking a 97 R reg vento vr6 has 288s on like the highline?
-
Both very nice cars mate. Why not put yours in, you've got nothing to loose adn it looks well sweet. Its surposed to be fun anyway, not the super an.l conc bit, not that i know anything except mine would be no good in either! I really like the number plate, look agressive. Not sure on crome wiper jobbies but thats just me. The car looks great, just keep it away from mine or she'll start crying!

What's the best looking/most ugly car ever made?
NickVR6 replied to StormVR6's topic in General Car Chat
I'm gonna go 250gto or project aston, not sure which one, but its very light metallic green and at goodwood every year. Bedford van, you know the one where the wheels are at least 3 feet inside the wheel arches. Give me goose bumps when i see them, they must defy the laws of physics when cornering at more than 3 mph! -
Nice one budy, and if it drives well and the body is straight who gives a Ken Dodd what the mileage is. Great buy. It seems you will spend lots on it whether its done 25k or 225k. Just do bits in order of importance as and when they really need doing and you should get lots of help off here to get you buy and save some £££s too. Now dust of your tent and come to E38 !

Very very nice! I've just ordered a kamei style eyebrow from that bloke on ebay. Will let you guys know what its like when i get it next week. Anyone know if its possible to spray them yourself with a spray can from vag? I take it you would be a genious to get any sort of finish without it done prefessionally?

Also helps to be f...ing loaded of course, and live somewhere where it never rains!

I chatted to the bloke who was very american, and soooo into his cars. Seemed he had a load of cars around the 69/70 american era including a baldwin something camero he reckoned was worth more than the cuda. Never seen one of whatever that was but i've been looking ever since. Cuda was original and he said 8 were ever made. Quite liked the way the whole car rocked from side to side when he blipped it! Spose it must have been packing some torque! With longdeetudinal mounting. He was a bit i've got this that and the other, but was nice and i have respect for anyone who has that much commitment to their motors and keeping them that clean.

Saw an original Hemi Cuda convertible in the glades on hols in florida a few years back, i think they are rare. Not my bag but it sounded the nuts and was mint beyond all mintyness. (same as Don Johnsons in that series whatever its called). This one was a lime green colour with black stripes though, not yellow.

Never mind the lights mate, which personally i think look great on a black raddo. WHAT ARE THOSE WHEELS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they look the dogs!

Cheapest quote ive had for a rear bumper bonnet chips and one rear pannle was knocking on a grand, so this seems too cheap to me! If his works up to scratch thouigh bite his arm off! (after he's sprayed your car)
-
Cheers guys, but as you know they allways look better in the picks. The front is blasted with stone chips and theres a big crack in the back bumper you cant see! Allways park end on end thinking i'd rather have a scuffed bumper than a door dent, UNTIL I FOUND OUT HOW MUCH THE REAR BUMPER IS WTF! There is still a ripple in the rear quarter from the big sent also but its better. Friend owns a garage here and gets a guy round once a week. I added it to the list for cash and it was £30 per panel but ended up doing the lot for £60 cash. pm me if you want details as i would'nt want to post them if you catch my drift. Operates about a 40 mile radious from the south coast if that helps. I have details of a few round here if you are fairly local, only reason i went this route was because my dent was really quite big and on the swage line and nobody else would touch it! Dont watch them do it either, i had to walk away when the hammer came out!

I was suprised when uk car prices came down substancially a few years back, much to my old mans disgust after paying over £20k for a 150bhp mk4 demo Gti T! Anyway, i have been waiting for them to stealth up the prices in the uk again while nobody notices. I'd like to know how much the new gti is in the rest of europe?? Me thinks more like 15/16K? I'd like to be proved wrong though. But we do tend to bend over and take it in the council griter from the rest of the worlds pricing.

Some picks of my C this weekend after having all my car park dinks taken out, well the big one is only 70% gone but you can't see it in the picks so what the hey. 8) Also De-wipered my a.. and took all my seats out and spanked them to death, and detailed the headlights Mr Haywire style. :D I won't mention the new indicator lens as i'm still coming to terms with the price f.....stealers!    Anyway, here you go, in a flatering evenning light (its really not as as good as it looks!).....................

Steering Wheel Judder under braking at high speed
NickVR6 replied to stooby doo's topic in Drivetrain
I have this intermitently! I have new WBs, full alignment just done and wheels balanced and its done it on 3 diff sets of wheels. I am as usual perplexed -
Cheers Dutch, an email to the man hath been sent ! Not much you can buy for the VR around the £100 mark so this is well worth a try mate cheers.

I love my Knob, rather too much, but then nobody else does at present. It even glows when you turn it on 8) Here she blows.............
-
Matt's right, but surpose it comes down to how big the cost diff is vs how much you will use them mate. I'd say thats enough of a profile change to be noticeable for sure. Might help you find the limits more easily, which could be a good thing!

1. Get my cooler fitted so i can drive up without the heater on full blast. 2. Find out why my head light fuses keep blowing so i have some lights 3. Put the head unit back in so i dont go mad on the drive up 4. Buy another tent cuz mine smells like a turkish prison after a mate took it to glasto 5. Remember not to take my credit car with me, its just getting out of hand now

Superchips... good or bad? Can the Golf VR6 ECU be remapped
NickVR6 replied to matth76's topic in General Car Chat
Hi Matt, I think ecu wise AMD seem to be the daddies for mapage. I assume its a piggyback ecu system, but i have asked the same question on Kevs throttle body thread. My vr has a bmc induction kit and exhaust and on stealths rollers made exactly 200bhp. Not having the money for a schrick or charger at the mo i will be getting a throtle body for about £120 and maybe a map depending the the answer to the same question as yours. If you want just about anything else stealth are bang on but as i say, i think amd or the ones for the remaps/chips. Hope that helps but sure everyone else will be more helpfull than me in the morning! -
1. ahhhh ballacks, having read this i will need one of these or i won't sleep! 2. Bit confussed about re-maps as i thought you could'nt tweak the VR that way? 3. Kev, is your new TB a 2.8? i don't understand. Sorry, being dimm as usual!
-
Blimmey, im off for a few days and Kev launches the ultimate sig pick, sweet mate! PARCEL SHELF, I have a MINT and i mean mint original black item from my 94 vr with no sagage or anything. I wanted to keep it for selling the car on. But i now realise I could never afford to get rid of it now! One of the placky strap bits has snapped but the shelf is spot on. I have no idea what its worth ??
