Before you start ripping into it........ I was sure, but now the new wheels are on it I don't like them. I am aware that I can very nearly walk under the car without jacking it up! Personally I just wish it worked at the momment  So what do you think :?:

Cheers, just getting F-up with simple simon jobs turning into nightmares. And everything that goes seeming to be going all at once! I shall cheer myself up by posting some picks now, will if i get any good comments that is!

Sorry mate, keep doing that. Won't again I promise..

I have now officially given up all hope. Having broken the pipe off that goes under the car. Taken the end out put it in a vice with the 4 inches of fuel pipe left on it without the vag clip on it and pulled with all my might and it has stretched the plastic fuel pipe so much it turned from blue to white. And anyone reckon that would have come off in situe, think not! I still cant get it off after spliting the hose with a stanley! Pointless i know but wanted to prove to myself that it was just me. Also stabed myself quite nicely. Almost had enough blood to completely colour in the DOHC VR6 on the engine cover, looks quite cool actually!! Ive sealed everything, shut the bonnet and locked the garage. My corrado is officially off the road until further notice.

Taken off the throttle body intake and everything attached too it! Broke the vacum thing that looks like a flying soucer, I hope its cheap! No sarcasm please, it would never EVER have comeoff without breaking. Pipe that goes to the carbon can to underside of the throttle body with a little thin T peice was so perished it broke up too! All off now and I have cut the pipes down so there is 4 inches left on each down on the inner wing. HOW THE FLUMIN BLIP do i get the remainder off the horribly brittle feeling plastic pipes that come up from under the car. They are not coming off and i dont want pull on them too hard!? Bit confussed has to how you can move them up and down about 6 inhces and rotate them 180 degrees with no resistance, but im not going to push that one! Any idea how to get them off? Oh and I now have no idea which one goes to which pipe on the fuel rail....DOW....school boy error there! Got some braided 150psi stuff for £12-4 metres im going to fit until the £60 rubber vw ones turn up (thought i heard a ripping sound, and its not in my pants).

Blimmey, your black throttle body pipe looks dif to mine!? Do you ge that blue samco bit with the cda or do you have to buy it separately!?

Being a pest again :-P , but next time anyone takes off there induction kit or air box can someone post or ping me a pick of the bodywork around the carbon cannister? Mine is all very neat and original looking, but slightly curvs and wanted to make sure it shouldnt be completely flat to the inner wing. Hard to explain, just want to be sure, still twitchy about my wheel alignment. Number 2, what exactly does the carbon can do and does it need replacing at a particular interval? Cheers guys Nick

Thanks Tekara, and the same can be said for yours for sure mate. Dr Forinor......had older cars with no fuel line issues before, but the i reckon its normal W&T on a C VR. Me thinks its due to the rubber pipes being strapped so close to an engine that runs very hot in the VR, and they have lasted 11+ years. Nearer the bulk head they look much fresher. Was a little suprised but seems a common prob. Both have 1994 stamped on them, so i surpose they've done ok.

Great info thanks. I had a box of halfords ones and they looked like the small ones required would cut into the rubber as they dont stay round. Will grab some from vag in the morning, nice one! Found a dealer who have promised me both lines by end of next week too! So it will be temp fix for 1 week if they keep there word. Cheers boys, and here to another weekend spent on the C !! Will be posting up some decent picks of her tonight when i get home if you want a proper look at this horribly thing that seems to take up all of my time now! Can tell me if it looks worth the effort....................

Cheers Kev (for buying the last ones LOL). Seems to be a lot to take off to get at them, bulk head end! Finding it hard to get any pipes off the plastic intake pipe without brakeing something aswell. Any tips! Then its heat shield of the inner wing i surpose? Jubilee clips ok on fuel lines? Cheers Nick Is it me or is everything going at once on my car!
-
Don't surpose anyone can suggest some miracle way of getting two replacement fuel lines delivered tommorrow can they! Part nos 535201293D 535201219B Looking at a week - 6 weeks from various main dealers and i really needed this done this weekend. But they are apparantly "shaped"
-
Its not unusual ! VAG it is then. On the train thismorning, that s.cks !
-
umm, just taking it all apart, where do those pipes end bulk head side!!!?? looks rather more involved than i first thought!!!!!?????

I HATE THE SMELL OF OPTIMAX IN THE EVENNING..........

Jim, wise words it turns out thank you............... Was a no go as when we wipped off the induction kit to see if we could do it there and then the pipe was not only leaking from the fuel rail join on both pipes, but it was so hard and brittle we managed to make it leak half way along!! Its almost crumbly, wow! and very very lucky i think. Seems wierd, but id been smelling something for a few days and i think my still dodgey engine mount maybe accelerated the problem. Hence me just having got home on the yellow lorry! Car safely in my garage and clamped up to stop leakage in the garage. Basically then, do i get vag hoses or can i just buy a couple of lengths from halfords and cut them if its standard hose diameter? Will be doing sat myself and garage checking my work for free monday to be safe. Do i need to take that heat sheild off aswell?
-
Dad's going to take a look, but its looking like the AA as Jim has scared me! Looking like the first time shes going to let me down completely then. I was reading that us thread the other night aswell, idiot. At least both the pipes have 94 on them so theyve last well, I surpose. Suprised im in such a good mood still, but prob not after the AA wait!
-
My signature suddenly seems rather apt!!
-
my initial reaction, but knowing my luck with their knowledge it will get worse! espec with my recent luck with having stuff done! Main question is whys it stopped when hot!?
-
Umm, got a mile from work and smelt fuel, big time! Drove back and popped the bonnet and fuel was all over the belt tensioner, around the left side of engine and over the lower hose end. Also on the end of the fuel rail, but i couldnt see where it had come from? End of the lower of the 2 pipes is def fraid slightly at the end, but it appears to have stopped now!? DO I DRIVE HOME? as for some reason it seems to have stopped now its hot? Or do i call the AA and go into waitrose and chill out on the sofas watching the plasmas until they turn up!?? I understand these will be opinions and if it goes up its my problem?? PS: Have a powder exdinguisher in the car (Small one!) HEEEEELP!

Serious stuff boys, and i will make it happen. Where can you pick up second hand VGI's!? Presumably if you can find one your looking at 5-600 ish?
-
Everyone seems to worry about how hot c vrs run compared to golfs/ventos me included and its hard to suck anything other than warm air into the thing. So how on earth do you get enough cooling for a supercharged vr c? And where does the blower sit? Thinking ahead as still sorting the standard set up on mine! But i know from experience more go is adictive and resistance is futile, so i will be schricking then more at some point. And where do you find a VGI!?

Wilko, think we've missed the boat on this one. For info though everyone rates them as being the best in every respect it seems -
Drove an R32 a few weeks back. Sounded nice and went ok, but like you say, felt a bit sterile for want of a better word. Steering wheel gave me the horn though, pardon the pun. Best wheel i've ever seen, about 2 inches deep and classy, shame it wont fit in a C.............

When its not missfiring that is!

Id like some clarification on the g60 vs 1.8 16v too. im a bit of an anorak on car mag figures have collected them since i was 7! Dads fault, starting with the old road tester with handle bar mistache in an original tvr griffith. Anyway, every mag i have has the g60 slower to 60 then the 16v!? Whats on thre then? Is it gearing, weight, waht is it? Having friven both theres no comp, especially lower down the rev range, and 139bhp vs 160 even bigger torque diff, surely somethings wrong? Agree all pub chat really. I love my vr, real world mid range is where its at, and no having to change down three gears to waft past people.
