  2. I have 16's on mine but some guys on here are running 17's without any problems. Only problem is when you lower it too much ... oops. - Ross
  3. Mine started running really rough then it got broken in to all in the last 3 days. I'm feeling your pain guys :( - Ross
  4. The doors gonna need some work ... they went at it with a screwdriver by the looks of it ... but the paint work is still ok. £50 xs for the window, but I'm getting a stonehip fixed while theyre at it. but you're right... could have been worse. - Ross
  5. Hey guys, Bit gutted this morning when I got up to see my C outside missing a window. I'm looking at it very philisophically, its done now and nothing I can do. Would love to have seen their face when they smashed the window to get in, then realised they couldnt get the door opened... the wonder of having no door pins and delocked. Then they prob went to go for the stereo... the one that isnt in the car (has been sitting in my shed for a while) Yesterday it started running really rough as well. Is anyone else having a bad week? - Ross
  6. I havent seen another C since I bought mine... well thats not true... I always see them parked with nobody to wave at! - Ross
  7. Black as black can be... I've started really liking white C's as well. I didnt before :) - Ross
  8. I have the 312 setup behind my rondell 16's... theyre a tight fit. They will not fit on all 16's. The 320 setup i recon you'll have serious probs getting any 16's to fit. There are some details on the wiki about the 312 setup that may help. - Ross
  9. If it helps I'm sure one of my mates had bbs off a mk2 golf on his mx-5. That may or may not help ;) - Ross
  10. So should get it done for under £200 then? Hopefully I can grab some VAG parts before it goes in. Cheers, Ross
  11. Hi Guys, I have to get my rear brakes sorted as soon as because I need the car this week. All the smaller garages close all have jobs on til late in the week so I was going to use ATS (in Beverley nr Hull). Are they likely to charge me silly prices? How much would you expect for rear discs and pads for a '93 VR6? I just bought the car and now hear a nasty metal to metal sound from my rear wheel... how unhappy am i! Cheers, Ross
  12. 89.9p just now... petrolprices.com is great... tells you the cheapest fuel in your area :) - Ross
  13. I'm guessing either a head rebuild if it is the HG or stem seals. Both of them I assume would be a few hundred £ upwards? I know this is all theoretical, so thanks for humouring me ) - Ross
  14. I said that more to state that it doesnt have leather ;o) How much ££ would i be looking at to solve either problem? - Ross
  15. How cheap would you say is cheap enough to make it worth while? VR6, 120k, karmann int, tidy bodywork, coilies. Hes looking for 4k. - Ross
  16. I'm guessing that isn't much better than burning oil though. Would that not lead to further problems and then needing a head rebuild? Either way, I should probably give it a miss? - Ross
  17. I had checked the oil, would I have seen any coolant in it if that was the case? What could be the cause if thats the case? - Ross
  18. Not that cheap. I'm guessing that stem seals fix isn't cheap either. I was thinking that it could be a sign of things to come. - Ross
  19. Stem seals? Serious or not so? Yeah, even when it was warm it was tough to get in. If you pushed a little further left then up, it seemed to go in fine. - Ross
  20. Hi Guys, I need some buying advice. I was out looking at a VR6, I have a few concerns about it (as you usually would buying a used car) but the one thing I'm not sure about is... when downshifting and putting your foot down, there was a puff of white exhaust smoke. This was the only time I saw anything from the exhaust. The smoke disappeared pretty quick and wasnt bluish, so I'm not thinking oil. Am I reading into it too much or could there be a problem? Other problem was trouble engauging 1st but reverse was easy, I assume it just a case of adjusting the cables... easy job?? Cheers in advance, Ross
  21. Not got a C yet, but I've had a few with my mk2 Golf: 'It reminds me of my old nissan sunny' and 'It looks a bit dated inside' Grr.... uneducated people! - Ross
  22. I've heard good things about trimstar http://www.trim-star.co.uk/index.php They're somewhere on the east. - Ross
