Thought it was about time I posted up some pics of my pride and joy. Had the car about 9 months now and has remained standard until now. Its got 62k on the clock and has full VW SH :) The guy I bought it from had replaced the lader with a new unit from vw as well (£1500) Spec: Standard engine for the mo  In Pro rear light thanks to Tempest's group buy FK AK coilovers which I'm well chuffed with as they aren't too hard at all Lupo wipers Uprated headlight loom 17" alloys that were left on by the previous owner, soon to be replaced by 8x17 Keskin Racers with Toyo Proxes

Heres some of the beauties I saw. This is the first time I've attached a pic, is there a quicker way than attaching one pic and then editing your post to add others?
-
Cheers guys I'll give them a go. Anyone know of any more?
-
Do you guys know any good wheels websites? Looked at most of the ones in the UK I think but nothing really takes my fancy  Particularly interested in American and European sites. Cheers

Used to valet cars for a local BM dealers a few years ago and drove one of the 530d's when they came out. Didn't know what engine it was when I first got the keys to it. Was well impressed driving it, all that effortless torque was great fun :-P Even more surprised when I got out the other end and discovered it was a diesel

Tempest I'll defo have a set of the black lights please :-P PM sent

If an offset of ET 30 will be close to the suspension legs will an ET15 be more suitable. The car will be on FK adjustables :?:
-
Where did you guys get your black VW grill badges from. Did you paint them cos my dealer has only got chrome ones on the system. I've got the newer style grill.

Think i'm going to try and go with the 8.5's then. Due to the width of these will I need to run coilovers?
-
Come on guys some of you must have wide wheels :?
-
Seen a phat set of the above  and was wondering on arch and suspension clearance issues. The wheels have a et30 offset. I'm hoping I can leave the arches as stock as possible. I have 17's at the mo and think they are a 7.5 width after measuring them last night. I'm on standard suspension (to be upgraded). I'm a bit worried about the wheels hitting the suspension legs - will the width of the wheels limit me to coilovers rather than shocks and springs due to the width of the spring platform?. Also what width tyres do ya reckon? Looked at the stance of A20 LEE and thought it looked the biz on a similar setup  Any advise appreciated!

Cheers guys. The cars running fine at the mo but Darren checked it over a couple of weeks ago and suggested a new one so everythings tip top before the mods begin

My local VW dealer has quoted me £48 for a knock sensor for my G60. The guy also said there are a couple of wires associated with the part that I may need to buy. Boosting the price to about £55-60. Does this price sound right, I've heard £38 mentioned in the past and do I really need the wires?? Dont want to pay the stealers any more than I have to

Cheers Chris. Is the bonding stuff specialist VAG stuff or a B&Q jobbie??
-
Cheers Kev. The scissor framework goes up and down fine (I've sat there watching it for ages!!) It's just when the window is closed I then open it and the framework slides down but the glass stays up in the window seal and can fall at any moment :( As I've found out  Can't see anything that should hold the glass to the framework :?

I haven't seen any group buys going ahead but I am looking to lower mine as well. Don't want anything harsh and have seen Gwent VW are doing a good price on the fixed damping FK's - £360 I think
-
Thanks for the quck reply Got the door card off at the mo. Well the glass sits in the bottom channel ok and the side channel ok but when the window is half down I can just pick the glass up right off the runners Wheres this clamp then??
-
Can anyone tell me what part it is that pulls the window down when you press the down switch. The window gets pushed up ok by the runner but doesn't come down properly as there is nothing to physically pull it down. Just stays up in the seal while the mechanism comes down On a different note can anyone help me out with a copy of the Bentley manual on CD Cheers

I'd probably be up for a suspension group buy as well. Trying to work out what will give me the best ride comfort though as I like the standard ride. As I will probably set the damping to the softest setting am I right in thinking that this will be approx 30% uprated on non damping adjustable coilovers. Do adjustable damping coilovers (eg FK Konigsport) have a minimum 30% uprated damping and get porgressively harder from there? Just trying to work out if a fully adjustable set are worth the extra cash :?

Cheers - Looks like its down to the stealers then :(

Had another look at the stuck passenger window and the functioning drivers one. What stops you being able to pick the glass up off the guide? As I can do this with the passenger glass but not the drivers. Does anyone know the part number I need??
-
Hoping someone can help - My passenger side window is stuck in the up position. At the moment I've got the door apart and the motor is fine (travels up and down with no probs) When I give the window a slight push down it sits on the window guide and goes down normally but then when I get it to close fully it gets stuck again. Is it right that the window just sits on the electric window guide along the groove and is not actually "held" in place. Need to get this sorted so I can seal my door membrane up nicely and stop the bloody leak in the footwell
