I found my fuse for the windows eventually, it was on the board in the location of all the rest of the fuses, it was number 14 which is really strange as on the list of fuses number 14 is something like reverse lights, and the windows werent even listed on the list.

Just picked up my new seat guide clips from VW, gonna fit em tonight and hopefully that'll be the end of my rocking seat when cornering a tad quickly.

Hi and welcome. Prepare yourself for the many ups and downs of c ownership, one thing i've learnt, one job always leads to another.
-
Araldite is the strongest glue i know of, dunno if it'll do your windscreen any good though, there must be a glue specially for this job though.

Maybe its a red herring from volkswagen, it doesnt actually do anything. Looks like its something to do with lights or something.

Hi all stripped out my interior at the weekend to remove the carpet and dry out underlay and found this behind the dash just resting there. Anybody any idea where it comes from so i can replace it. Part number on it is - 535 919 390 Cheers Folks

Worth checking them anyhow, mine went and it was number 14 on the fuse board, even though on the list of what is what it doesnt mention leccy windows.

Does anyone know what day/time they repeat top gear, missed it sunday night.....d'oh.

Can someone give me the details of the repair kit please, mine will tilt up fine, only tilt down one side (you have to slide the runner back manually to close) and will not slide at all. Cheers folks

if you ask me, i know no one did, but i reckon its just a perk of the job. Fair play to him. If i'd been caught doin 120 on the motorway and they let me off, i'd hardly complain that they weren't doing there jobs. If you think there is no justice here, then what about the family that lost there young lad who got run over by a drunk illegal imigrant with no license, tax, mot and insurance in wolverhampton not long back. He got two months in jail, they lost there son. Shouldn't even of been in the country let alone driving on the roads. Now where's the justice for you. 2p over....

Cheers Gavin, dont get me wrong, i'd love to spend £500/£600 on some coilovers but i'm one of the few that seems to not have a never ending supply of cash (bloody wedding). Plus i am not asking that much of them, sure a set for my budget would suffice for my needs. Just spoke to C&R, the Weitec Ultra Gt kit 40mm drop is £245 all in. Sounds good to me. Anyone else running this kit care to let me know what they think? Cheers all Stu

I think he means the steering wheel Dr mat. Dont you??????

Who is that in wolverhampton then? Best of luck over the weekend, check the weather reports too, unless you have cover over your head.

As this is my daily driver and is never likely to be shown or used as a track car i am not after track car handling. I want it to lower the car approx 40mm, improve handling for times when i want to give it some and improve the ride quality i.e. comfort for when i'm driving around normally. As this is what i'm after would my budget not beable to get something to suit this or would i have to spend the £330 ish for a better kit. Cheers for all your advice. Stu

Unfortunately just a bit out my price range. Do GSF or ECP do any sports suspension kits..? Are they any good..? I know there are kits out there for this price, was just wanting some members reviews on any kits that they have fitted in this price range. Cheers folks Stu

Hi all As i dont really know too much on this subject i thought i'd cast my line into your vast pool of knowledge. Pretty soon i'm going to be uprating my suspension cause at the moment its just riding on lowered springs (approx -40mm) on standard shocks and the ride quality is a little scary to say the least. I will have between £200-£250 to spend so whats the best kit i can get for this. Preferably want brand new as opposed to second hand, unless very low mileage has been done on them, and i thought it best just to get new springs with the shocks. At the moment i like the height at the rear but the front is sitting a bit lower, would like to even it up all round as the rears. Cheers for all your help Stu

I reckon asking for a full refund is in order. If they refuse threaten to tell your story to the local press about said garage....they'll soon change their mind. I once had a pair of pliers left around my dizzy cap after having it mot'd. Imagine if that had somehow fell into a belt........dont wanna think about it. They should at least pay for your AA subscription, as you've had to use them already. Give em what for......let them see how p*$$ed off you are.

Although best to just check them all as i had my electric windows go on me, checked on the bottom of the cover - no mention of windows, but when i checked fuses one of them had blown which must of covered the windows too. Best just to check them all.
-
Cheers gents, will sort it when i get home from work, fingers crossed its just the fuse. Then it'll be a case of why did it blow when i was fiddling with the mirrors....hmmmmmm
-
Cheers henny, do you mean where the others are below the steering wheel? Is it on its own? how do i recognise which one it is (apart from it being the blown one)? Cheers for your help, really appreciate it.

Hi all My leccy windows were working fine but my leccy mirrors were not. Whilst stuck in traffic i decided to pull out the mirror switch to which i found the lead wasnt connected. When i got home i connected it up and had lots of noise from the mirrors but movement only in one direction on one, and no movement on other. Great i thought, at least there is power going there so i can sort it at a later time. Unplugged the lead again and now my leccy windows dont work. Neither of the switches work, they both did before, no noises....nothing. Sounds like a fuse or relay to me......looked at fuses in dash....no fuse for electric windows. Does anyone know if its a relay or a fuse somewhere else..????? Cheers in advance P.S. I'm dying in this hot weather as my sunroof dont work either.

Not really a chuftie but i ahve now owned my c for about two weeks and i cant get over the amout of stares/glances/head spins it keeps getting. And not just from the typical young lad either. i've had young, old, male and female look. Even had people in porsche's and top spec motors eyeing her up. Proof indeed that they really are a unique special car. Makes me love mine even more. P.S. Jane = Cute (shame she had to go)

Why hasnt anyone thought of that before.....Genius..... Henny, keep us imformed on your findings.
