Wow. Your relief valve may be jammed shut, causing massive oil pressure. Which is not what you want. If your guage is going over 100psi, and you bummed the mocal, then I think you have a pressure issue....

Could be the thermostat housing or the crack pipe leaking, there are 4 (?) hoses coming off the thermostat housing, and 2 small hoses for the oil cooler, one running from the block, the other to the crack pipe.

Yes deffo. :) Also going to buy a big can of Waxoyl and an applicator gun and go nuts with it. Get anything that can be injected into filled up with the stuff. The front subframes and rad support panel will be getting a lot of attention as I've seen them going from the inside out before.

That looks absolutely stunning! How do you get the front plug lead cover off the upper inlet manifold? I'd like to give mine a proper clean up when I come to put it back together, and I'm a little bit ham fisted. :lol:

You sure it's not leaking through the dizzy? The internal seals fail in the 16v units. That can cause a misfire, shortly before the dizzy packs up altogether.

How hot did you let it get? I'd be a bit wary as the heating and cooling cycle can weaken the metal, or cause warping.

:lol: I take it combine engines aren't that high revving :D Nah, probably 1800-2000 rpm. Made a bit of noise and smoke when it went apparently. Had to tow it home backwards, on the road. :lol: Luckily we had another combine at that point.

We've got a piston by the front door from the combine that dropped a valve. Couple of days, a new piston, valve and injector later and it was up and running again...

Probably a valve... My guess is that the timing is out or it dropped a valve which has been mashed around inside the cylinder... Head and block both forked.
