Why its sometimes better to ring the Dealer first...
Toad replied to Pat_McCrotch's topic in Suppliers Forum
My local dealers parts desk is really good, they know me by voice now. The service desk is less good, but I won't be taking the car there again... Just ordered a load of nuts and bolts for the weekend, hopefully they will text me in the next few days. Tom. -
Lucky Jim more like. Looks stunning. :)

Bumming session in the woods? Shhh, we're trying to keep it quiet until the video is released![/quote:3h0tql0p] :thumbleft: Put me down for a copy on BlueRay.

Bumming session in the woods? You did put it a great deal more elequently than me... Any chance of bringing your caliper windback tool down on Saturday?

1. Through the breather on the block. Ally lump positioned above the oil filter braket. 2. Oil pressure test possibly, and you shouldn't have a cat. But I'd just see how it goes. 3. Dunno, I've seen a G60 topped up far higher than that and it survived. 4. See what happens. 5. Cleaner should do it. 6. Not just yet. 7. See how much oil made it up into the throttle body, might not be too bad....

You're supposed to leave the mounts loose and turn the engine over for a bit so it all settles down on the mounts. I wonder if it could be that causing the vibration?

VR6 dies after going over a pothole....STILL DOING IT!
Toad replied to easypops's topic in Engine Bay
I can appreciate that. But i sometimes find myself driving the VR hard :D Yeah, I'll do that too, but it's just not as nice to throw down a road as the 16v  Mind you, it'll be a bit different when it's working this time around.... -

I love the VR because it's easy to drive, but love the 16v because it needs to be driven quite hard, and thus involves you more. -

You can't miss it. Black plastic ring around the ignition barrel. Wire running into the dash. SOunds like it could be a connection if it occured after hitting a pothole... -
The voice of experience?  What's a moob? Don't try and come across all coy... You were suckling on them the other day...

I'm not entirely sure to be honest. I'd speak to Junkie and see what he says about running with them. The braces are easy to come by, I think the guy on E38 who did some for the group buy on here still makes them.

Looks lovely and tidy. 4wd 1.8t PlopRocket sounds interesting....

Great news :)

You paid £12.76 and a signed picture of me. I will sort some pics of that head out soon.

Lol, it's absolutely filthy, covered in tramp piss and in desperate need of a clean. :( Same colour as yours believe it or not. Didn't put 2 and 2 together when I saw your members gallery thread.

Mine is down there quite regularly too... Live very close to the station now with the car in off street parking.
-
A 4 cylinder car. Whatever you can find with the best suspension, bodywork etc. The 8vs are rare, so it would be a shame to convert one.
-
 That was me, escaping from revision in the Dungeon... Is your car parked down Westman road sometimes? My mate keeps thinking that it's me sat around spying on her.

I've got a rear strut brace in my valver, and I couldn't say 100% that it makes a massive difference, that's on tired standard suspension. Can't hurt though, not for £60 or whatever I paid. The VR will have a rear ARB and a strut brace with a set of Koni T/As, so I guess the brace will be doing a bit more work. I think the 4 cylinder cars are nicely set up. I'd not fit a rear ARB on it's own to them, maybe a set of front and rear bars, like Junkie is selling.

Another default win for Toad then.... 16v it is. not if its hot chip fat :norty: It will be hot when it's dripping off my moobs.... :norty:

That film was taken from the point where I was a bit sleepy during our trip over, and thought I'd soiled myself.

I think you polished the bonnet a bit too hard....

Cheers dude! I've got plenty of KR bits hanging around, but the list is all for the VR, a lot of stuff like tappets I will buy new, I think the engine is only 70k old so it probably doesn't need them, but while I've got the cams out....
