  1. The above numbers are all I could decifer from the end of the head... I'll take a better look tomorrow when I give it a good clean.
  2. If you want to have a good look round a couple of cars to see what to look out for, come over.... You're more than welcome... Just don't tell anyone where you are going, and promise not to scream when I push you in the car boot... It's a... errr..... tradition round these parts. ;) Seriously though, find someone who can show you round a car... And make sure you wear clean socks. :)
  3. Yup. You'll spank £1000 on a few repairs to a corrado in no time at all. Trust me.... I'm a professional...
  4. Right.... I'm pretty good on mechanical work, but rubbish on cosmetic stuff. I need to fix a variety of rust patches on the VR. Where should I start? Most are quite small and I would like to patch the paintwork up for the time being before getting the whole car blown over at a later date....
  5. Yeah, I know where to find the code of the engine that should be int he car, but this one isn't the original....
  6. I think I've found an engine number on my VR 11207996 Can anyone tell me where to find out what engine code and year it is? I assume I can do this on ETKA? Cheers.
  7. VRs don't drive as nicely as the 4 cylinder varients, far more nose heavy. Just putting it out there....
  8. :) Cheers guys... I might have sourced a few more parts for her over the last day or two which will bring it a lot closer to getting back on the road.... Can't wait to hear her running again to be honest...

    VR6 Bent Valves

can you see what i did above  but Zak's not on here at the moment so hopefully he has bought it?? if not, i may well have a nosey at it. Lol! Yeah... :luvlove: If you want a flowed VR head.... I might well have one off a VW cup car...
  11. Well, the VR has broken cover... I blew the tyres up and dragged it out the shed with the tractor. Nearly destroyed it through careless use of big bale string as a tow rope  Just washed her ready to start to strip tomorrow. The paintwork has deteriorated badly, and the seats had a little mould on them. Got somewhere to park it out the way that is a little more suitable, but not ideal. In other news, a large scrap bin was delivered today, so I have to finish stripping the 2 shells I have left, squash them with the tractor and drop them in... By this time next week. Good job I haven't got to go back to work till Monday :D

JP is a very very clever bloke. Been lucky enough to speak to him a bit about various things. I'd have that in a second if I was looking for a head.
  13. It'll probably be more like the right car will jump out at you when you drive a few... Stop running 16vs down... I'd never sell mine!
  14. You need to get someone to check it on Vag Com. The sensor ring is £25ish, but the new key and reprogramming will be more. The fault code scanning will tell you which it is. Check all your fuses first though....
  15. It's the factory immobiliser. You've either got a defective key, transponder reader ring on your ignition barrel or fuse 15 is blown.
  16. You basically need the front subframes, suspension, crossmember, slam panel, wiring loom, radiator, fan control unit, airbox, inlet trunking, exhaust manifolds and downpipe from a VR6 corrado. Plus probably the hubs, driveshafts, brakes. You'd jst as well get the wiring loom too. You'll need VR6 clocks on the inside.

    Music thread...

Just picked up Gallows - Grey Britain and High Contrast - Confidential. Halfway through the first listen of Grey Britain. First impressions are that it's very very very dark. Brilliant... :D :norty: :onfire:
  18. I was the L reg blackberry! I gave a quick toot on the horn as you pulled off. Had a great afternoon at Stanford, good show. I saw your post and your Avatar in the Stanford hall thread and wondered if it was you. Would have made more effort to wave as I scampered off, but that corner was a little bit sooner and tighter than I expected. :)
  19. Get a towbar fitted. :) Immense bits of kit. I've got one and everything.
  20. L reg Blackberry VR following me out of Stanford Hall tonight. Davidwort on the motorway shortly after. 250 miles over the weekend. 2 x Audi R8s and a Ferrari Enzo. The only corrados I see are coming out of a VW show....
  21. Probably a knackered slave or master cylinder, is there brake fluid dripping off the bottom of the gearbox? The master cylinder is below and to the right of the brake master cylinder with a pipe running from the brake fluid resevoir to it.
