What toe/camber do you guys run on standard VR's with a slight drop, want to know a little before going in and seeing what they can do AJ
-
Can the toe be adjusted on the vr6, might be a daft question but i haven't got the foggiest! Will be returning to the standard Speedlines soon wich means adjusting the coilovers so thought i would take it to an allignment centre when done and have it all set up properly Thanks

Spoke to DG Autotech about this the other week, for piece of mind if not anything else, £1175 inc VAT which they would do the clutch, thermostat, thermostst housing, washers etc etc, all genuine VW parts AJ

There not rear beam bushes they are front wishbone rear bushes, and from what i've read it is an effective mod to do. Again as for the rear bushes standard are meant to be the best really, AJ

Cant believe how much play there is in mine, a deffo must do if i can sort the parts. Didn't even think about it till i read this thread! AJ

AJ I tell everyone who i meet that AJ stands for Alvin Jeremiah I played rugby for Derbyshire when i was 15 I've watched The Fast and the Furious an unhealthy amount of times
-
Think it will work well with the wheels that colour. Need to start getting some parts together for the beam rebuild (and a beam) and make it up fully then a case of switching old for new. Sounds like you've make some quality upgrades along the way, where did you buy the new seals to redo the brakes, dealers/TPS? AJ

Great looking car mate, love the black ones. Good work on the rear beam, really want to get this done myself soon. Vento Cups will look spot on too, AJ

Storms only came in Classic Green and Mystic Blue dude AJ

Well off to the boozer tonight, he might be there sprouting all kinds off sh!t, "yeah yeah just cooked a lasagne while dropping the gearbox on the Cortina while i was doing a bit of pointing on the roof, at the same time"

Sounds like a thread i would be interested in Kev!

Swear down its 49% to 51% though Dave! Really want to keep this now and just slowly progress with it as and when. Next big job though is a rear beam rebuild i think, AJ

300mm adapter, thats some serious poke!! Car looks great mate, really like the Nuggets

8vMatt, thanks mate didn't mean to mess you with your wheels but when these came up i just had to have them! Coullstar, got to say i do prefer the motorsport style wheels myself but saying that cant beat some 17" RS' BTW your wheels are the cats nads! Pete, ta bud, working on them yourself really helps and not having the presure to use her everyday makes things easier, wouldn't be able to carry out the work to the extent you did but i'm trying! AJ

Stuff to use is gliptone leather conditioner smells much better and works a lot better[/quote:91lm2m80] So i've heard but thought the AutoGlym cant be all bad, it is. Looks like its dried my leather out not helped it so going to order the Gliptone later today
-
Alright Tom, hows life without the VR then? Whats next on the list?
-
Cheers Matt, wheels have helped a great deal, looks like a comletely different car even the paint looks better! Fed my Recaro's with AutoGlym stuff earlier too, that stuff is sh!t, will not be using it again plus it stinks AJ
-

Well here is my VR6, had it around 3 months or so after my last one failed in the engine department. Completely standard which in a way i wanted, plus money was tight. A few weeks searching i found this one in London, so after a while emailing/phoning it was train journey time. 1993 K VR6 Moonlight Blue Factory fitted heated & electric leather Recoro's Full bottom end rebuild at VW with reciepts circa £2500! Loads of previous reciepts inc heater matrix (happy days i thought!) First job was genuine discs and Textar pads, never driven a car like that in my life. The discs were warped so the drive home was very interesting plus i went the wrong way round the M25 took me 6 hours to get back, should of been 3! No pictures of how the car was a couple weeks ago but it was just very standard looking, here are the aftermath pics of the matrix though which failed right in the middle of Notts while sat at the lights in rush hour!
