So....that'll be gospel then ! The MG site (http://WWW.mgcar.org.uk) had the inside info (allegedly) some time ago , some went to the Top Gear studio.....the official line is that it's several drivers since Perry let it slip in his book .

Thanks RW1, I checked the dual sensor, and the WK contact appears to be shorted out, am I right in thinking that I'ts one of the sensors on top of the oil filter housing that I'm substituting, presumably I should be able to identify the blue/ black wire . (VR6 engine)

Blue/white is definitely for the oil pressure gauge, according to Bentley., I can't find mine (VR6) so I have run a wire from the auxilliary gauge into the engine bay, and bought a VDO sensor (no360 006D). Does anybody know which sensor it replaces, there appear to be two on top of the oil filter housing, but I was told that the sensor is somewhere on the engine block ? A pic would be handy ! The connections on top of the sensor are marked 'G' and 'WK', any ideas which is which ?

I've done a couple with the MG Car club (MG's on track) They are MG only...so no chavs or muppets.....the MG guys feel the same about their cars as the Corrado owners...my MG's cost me more than the VR6 and is nearly 20 years old (theoretically)...so gets treated accordingly.. the club did a trial track evening for newbies at Donnington earlier his year for under £100......seriously good fun, as much track time as you could take and really good instructors.....their track days are about £120-£140, shared with other club, maybe we could consider that as a possibility as it would reduce costs (the TVR lot didn't turn up at Donnington...so we got it effectively all nght at half price !)

Yes, I was a bit surprised at the lack of bottom end torque.....I've got the 3 litre big valve TSR Le Mans engine, and nothing much seems to be happening under 3000rpm.....its' still running in so it may improve yet..... but I've also got an MGB with a 3.5 V8 engine, and that one pulls like a train from tick-over....in fairness the MG is much lighter than the Corrado, and it's been set up for bottom end power , but the difference is n the 2 cars is amazing.

I own a Mk 2 GTi and a VR6 Corrado. Both are totally unmolested suspension-wise. The Corrado is streets ahead on both roadholding and handling, you are into Porsche territory...the only cars I can compare it with are the original mini Cooper S , Escort RS and the Alfasud Sprint (OK I'm quite old, but I recognise classic handling when I see it ). Scrounge a drive in a Corrado .(VR6 if you possibly can)...you will be sold

I bought a LHD set on E bay earlier this year for considerably less than that....they are not a perfect fit ( the consoles are handed of course) but it's not really that noticeable....I was told that RHD ones ( when you can find them) are nearly £200.

Mine threw a wobbler on the VR6...sorted by Andy Rossall Blackpool Communications 07976 757573, if you are anywhere near Blackpool.

Not really...theyr'e building me a 3 litre engine, and it's part of the deal, stage 3 head & big valves. Give 'em a ring ..they are quite friendly...I dealt with them years ago when I has a Mk 1 Gti. They have offered to put it on their rolling road after I've done a few miles as part of the deal....the only problem is that they are in Someset, and I'm in Blackpool. Will keep you posted. Mike

TSR are doing one for me at the moment, with big valves....They are the only ones I've seen advertised. Mike
