My 'weekender' is a Mk1 Eunos, an ex-track day car, I actually had to RAISE the suspension ( luckily adjustable Koni's) by nearly an inch to make it sleeping policeman friendly.

I've had my VSR manifold on for a couple of years without a remap......I've just not managed to get round to it.....I'm sure that there will be an improvement when I get round to it.

I've never actually seen any direct on the road comparison with a Schrick and a VSR manifold.....I'm assuming it's another one of those urban legends that abound on t'internet....I must admit I'd intended to do a 'before and after' for wheel torque readings on a rolling road (the only numbers worth talking about IMO) but just couldn't wait. Mines still not been re-chipped 2 years down the line, so I'm probably not getting the best out of it....I do know that fuel consumption improved slightly on motorway runs ( under change-over point), and so did pickup from mid range to top, when the flap kicked in.....another 100 years motoring and it'll probably have paid for itself !!!

I bought my VSR from a guy in the US who was converting his car back to original... after much haggling it cost me neck end of £1500 with postage and duty.....that was about 2 years ago...I doubt you'll find anyone in the UK who is willing to part with theirs for less than a couple of grand, although you might strike lucky in the US, with the 'almighty $' being so low .......allegedly only 500 were made , and most went to the US on Corrado's and Golfs.

We regularly have this problem on the beach in Blackpool. Last month another muppet came over from inland to have an (illegal) blast on the beach and, you guessed it.......got stuck. Rather than pay the council for a tow-off he opted to sort it out himself......with the inevitable outcome,..... pics in the local paper of the car lying on its side in the sand as the tide receded .......evidently his dad had only bought him the car only a few weeks before.......I didn't know if to laugh or cry !

Brill thanks mate.

Hi, My VR6 has developed a leak in the corrugated small hose which runs from the valve cover to the intake air hose.....my local VW parts people say that this hose is only sold with the air intake hose (£70+) , does anyone know where I can buy just the connecting hose, or will I have to cobble something together out of an old water hose ?

I've had a Dieselgeek one for about a year now, it's excellent, the fitting was a bit difficult and involved surgery with the Dremel to get it to fit, but well worth the effort.

If you look carefully, you should see that the two banks of cylinders are offset slightly,,,,,it's quite obvious on my Rover V8, possibly the Chevvy block not so obvious, it's always the frontmost cylinder ... usually the right front, standing at the front of the car......are the plug leads not labelled ?

I saw the same thing happen with MGB's a couple of decades ago.......my V8 roadster has been steadily increasing in value over he last decade....another 20 years and I may get back what it's cost me. Not having learned my lesson the first time, I'm happily ploughing money into my VR6 (respray....VSR manifold etc). Will I ever get it back......hopefully that'll be my children's problem......similar thread on the MG site ended with a Yorkshire wag remarking ...'enjoy it now...you spend along time staring at the lid !

It doesn't belong to you, it belongs to them, to keep it is stealing......where's the dilema ? In the reverse situation...you would expect people to be honest with you......I don't see the difference. Contact 'em and tell them what's happened.....they may well tell you to keep it.....alternatively there may be some poor s*d who is waiting for the part to turn up, and wondering what's happened to it.

So how old do you have to be to look a 'little silly'....
mgbv8mike replied to Leonard's topic in General Car Chat
Oh Err.......Looks like I'm oldest so far then....... (65).... VR6 with VSR manifold is my daily driver. My 'weekender' is a 1977 MGB roadster with a Rover V8 efi engine..... (152WHP and 199ft/lbs)....still some work to do on the ignition , should make 175WHP on the next rolling road session.......not bad for 19CWT car ! Out of interest I tried Saga for my insurance 'Good morning ....how can we help? ' 'I'd like to insure my cars...I'm 65' 'Yes sir....what do you drive .....Micra, Yaris or Rover 200 perhaps?' 'No. ..Corrado VR6 and V8 MGB ...both modified ' 'Goodbye' -
I've got an ItalVolate on mine, not unlike MoMo but rather chunkier, I've never come across another one. I'ts starting to show signs of wear and could do with re-covering, the factory are supposed to offer a re-covering service, but it's in Italy, and I can't get their e-mail address on their website to work.

It's coilpack, mate. the connector has 8 wires;- Pink: :White/red: : :Black : Red : Purple: :Brown: White /black: White: (this is the layout of the socket connection) Any help would be appreciated........looks like job for Stealth !!!

I bought one on E bay some time back, but haven't had time to fit it yet. A couple of questions, Does anyone have a wiring diagram, I assume that it wires into the harness immediately after the ECU ? If it is dis-connected (It has a socket fitting) does the ECU revert to 'standard' ? Where can I get it fitted and mapped in the wild North ?
-
Am I missing something here ? My VR6 has a brake balance valve and ABS, I don't see how increasing the size of the rear calipers would over-ride either of these, can you explain please ?

A53 and A54 are a favorite for bikers, I suspect that they account for a lot of the accidents, having said that I drove the A54 towards Lancashire a week last Sunday and it was surprisingly quiet...it's one of those roads that swoops and curves as it goes through the Derbyshire dales towards south Manchester, I wouldn't like to meet heavy wagons coming the other way though !

Yes, I got a Dieselgeek one.........excellent piece of kit, both side and fore and aft throws are considerably reduced.....gears go in with a very satisfying 'click' now. A bit of an a*se to fit., you need a Dremel to cut out the tunnel to fit, but that's the only downside.

Stan, I thought that the sensor wire was supposed to be self-cleaning, gets heated up to some phenominal temp on shutdown....I occasionally have problems when i throttle back, and hit the accelerator hard in 2nd gear.....but no messages of gloom on Vagcom, and have thought about replacement....at that price it's worth a punt !
-
How the heck would you export that !!!!!!!

I did warn yer!!!!!

Aaaaargh........sorry about that.
