i'm in no rush to sell tbh, i'm was thinking about selling march/april time coz the market's crap at the mo. i was hoping to get 2.3-2.5k for it but i would like to see it go to an enthusiast who would look after it. but then i remember how much i loved driving my car last summer so it's going to be twice as hard for me to sell her come the sunnier climes!!! these cars really get under your skin don't they?

thinking of selling my c as i just had a 10 day ban & my insurance is going to go through the roof & it's just not practical anymore as i need a diesel for the daily slog through the centre of newcastle! also got the chance of a really cheap valver that's going to be a little project for me so i'm not leaving the c scene altogether! here's the spec, 2.0l 16v 94 L reg ice grey violet pearl 111k service history up to 85k timing belt done at 103k new front discs & pads 5 months ago new battery & alternator 3 months ago just had new slave cylinder fitted, all reciepts present. bodywork very good condition, no rust, 2 tiny car park dings, & the odd scratch here & there. bbs 15" alloys very good condition, one curbed on the edge but otherwise good. grey cloth interior in good condition. all the electrics work including sunroof, mirrors, windows & spoiler( a rarity ) clifford imobiliser & laserline alarm pioneer tape head unit & 6 disc multi-changer in glove box headlight loom uprated powerflow st/steel exhaust fitted 2 months ago. 2 months tax 7/8 months test. bad points, for some reason the alarm doesn't make any noise (bit of a problem for alarms really!) it arms & the indicators flash but no siren! heater controls only work on the windscreen & footwell settings although i've got a new control unit & beldon cable which should sort that out. car is pretty much standard apart from exhaust, wiring loom etc, really don't want to sell but my sensible head if being a bit bossy so just testing the water. if it's not worth selling then might be getting locked away so i can just look at it! i'm sure there are things i've forgot but i'm not really thinking straight at the mo! there's pics of my car on the north east meet thread on the event announcements, page 5 probs best pics. mine's the one on the far left L883 reg cheers, gaz

yeah i'm pleased with the result, also i get out of picking up inlaws, shopping & the like over xmas! woo hoo! g/f's gutted coz she'll have to be taxi driver for the next 9 days! slightly worried about how much it'll affect my insurance but i'll worry about that in the new year.

just an update on my speeding offence, was up at court today & i think i got a bit of a result! they decided on a 10 day ban coz i said i needed my car for my job & they took into account that my company closed for xmas! so i've sorted a lift for the next couple of days then i'm off till 3rd jan. i'll be pxxsed from the 23rd till 31st so i'm well chuffed. it actually works out at a 9 day ban coz it comes into effect as soon as the hearing finishes! also got a £235 fine which wasn't great but i saved myself £100 by pleading guilty straight away. gaz

no probs mate, just pleased it's a genuine ad! as you all know there are a lot of dodgy dealers out there!!

the reg is blanked out on the autotrader ad, they've just used the same pic from the ebay ad.

just seen a ice grey violet vr6 for sale on auto trader & was a little concerned as i had a look at this car & seen the ad on ebay & quite a few things have changed! it's possible someone is just using a similar pic to sell their car & if that's the case then i'm sorry but you just can't be to careful! first off the milage is different, the mileage on the ebay ad was 114k now it's 98k. ebay ad had history up to 80k this one now has full history. also i know this car was involved in a minor prang & the slam panel & fog lights were replaced & obviously it had a front end respray. there are a couple of other things that don't match up but then it could all be legit. the car's for sale at just under 4k & it's the only ice grey violet on autotrader. would hate to see someone get ripped off but at the same time it could be a genuine sale & i'll apologise if it is, could even be a forum member?

they said that coz it was a possible banning offence they wanted to give me a chance to appear in court & give any evidence that might help my case. that's fair enough but i'll be totally pxxsed if i drive all the way there & they ban me anyway! i'll let you know how it goes, good luck with yours dredgey!

my case was ajourned till 19th december so i think i'm going to attend this time. think i'll get suited & booted & try to appeal to their better nature!! the letter i got said that i could be banned straight away so i'll have to take my g/f just in case. it's a pain in the arse coz i've got to drive to kendal in her 206 coz she hates driving my car!

ha! thought it was just me & my cack handedness!!! i hate the uneasy feeling you get when she's driving sweet as coz you know something's going to go wrong! maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, it'll be the day after!!!!

a cheeky little 102mph in a 70, was braking hard at the time to!! so sorta the same as you. is this your 1st offence? what ever happens to me should be a canny rule of thumb for you. might try to ring the court on monday to try to find out the outcome.

yeah, when they send your court summons they also send a means form for you to fill in. obviously i've lied through my teeth about my outgoings but they have things like what you spend on drink, lottery & all kinds of crap! i've sorta convinced myself i'll get 5-6 points & a £250 fine but then you just never know?

i asked to see the photographic evidence as i thought i'd try that course of action but then the picture came back & it was like a f-n passport photo! clearly me!! i'm sure they've heard every excuse under the sun but then don't they say honesty is the best policy? i'll let you know next week if i agree with that statement coz if i get banned i'll try every trick in the book to squirm out of it if it ever happens again!!!!

my case is up in court this monday coming, 28th november. got caught doing 102mph on the m6 by a camera van on a bridge! i've pleaded guilty by post, admitting fault but sent in a letter basically grovelling. 1st offence, excellent driving conditions, very sorry for my actions, need licence for job blah blah blah! i'll let you know how i get on, hopefully have an answer tuesday wednesday. gaz

just been talking to a mate at work & he was telling me he's just bought a supercharger off the new mini that he's going to fit onto his g40 polo. apparently & you'll have to pardon my ignorance coz i know jack shxt about what happens under the bonnet but these things bolt straight on & are reliable for about 100,000 miles! apparently people are buying some kind of race kit for the new supercharged mini so they replace the one that's already on so they are quite cheap to get hold of.( my mate paid £100) this got me thinking, has anyone else heard of this & also would the supercharger fit a g60? i'm just curious coz i would be really tempted to get a g60 if i could get a reliable charger & not have to worry about rebuild costs & stuff! (coz i cant afford a vr!!)

getting a stainless powerflow system fitted tomorrow for £335, not a bad price i thought? tempted to go for the cat bypass, does this give much of an increase in power? the bloke i spoke to said it would make it a lot noisier but if it gives a decent power increase then i'll probs go for it?

i need the whole system from the cat back over so does anyone know who keeps these in stock or at least a couple of days delivery? nice car lippy, i've got one the same but in standard trim. doncha love the colour?

just been quoted 360 quid for an exhaust system for my 2l 16v corrado so thinking of getting a stainless system. does anyone know of any decent exhaust suppliers in the north east of england or at least someone who can send out by courier? tried g-werks but they have nowt available for a couple of weeks. need one pdq as mine's totally rotten & the tail piece has snapped off! cheers,gaz

luckily there's virtually no damage, couple of dints on the sill & somehow they managed to knock the back box off it's mount! the thing is these kids were only 12 or 13, what would you do with them? if i caught them i could've took them to their parents but chances are they'll be scumbags too! bit of a sweeping statement that but it proper boils my pxxs!!!!!!

was driving to my g/f last night when i heard an almighty clunk then another! thought my exhaust had fell off or my gearbox had decided to part company with me! pulled over to check back for spare corrado parts in the road only to see a couple of kids legging it away! couldn't find any bits of my car in the road & thats when my powers of deduction kicked in. looks like these f-n charver kids have taken to lobbing rocks at passing motorists for a bit of a laugh! at this point my pxxs was boiling so i chased after the little twxts but couldn't catch/see them as it was on a new road through a half built housing estate & all the fields surrounding are pitch black. when i got back to the car my 1st thought was getting the car somewhere that i could check for damage but then i started thinking what could have happened if the rock came through my windscreen! scary thought really!! i'll be looking out for these little fxxkwits in the future but i'll doubt they'll be stupid enough to do it again.....but then again!

think i saw this one near jesmond in newcastle about 6 weeks ago, only seen it from the side but looked canny if a bit lardy! had the windows blacked out too which i'm not really a fan of but each to their own. bodywork was immaculate though from what i can remember.

hi guys, just after a bit of help really, got caught speeding on the m6 by one of those sneaky bxxta'd vans on the 7th may doing 102mph. just got my court summons through for the 28th november & was wondering if anyone else had been caught doing a similar speed. done a search on the forum & on the net but there's no rule of thumb. i've heard of some people getting banned while a friend of a friend got 3 points & a 60 quid fine! i'm thinking about going to court myself as i think if i'm there in person i can grovel/kiss arse/plead for leniency! i'm hoping that as it's my 1st offence, driving conditions were excellent & the road was empty that this will go in my favour but then again i don't want them to think i'm trying to slime my way out of it. has anyone got any experience of this sort of thing & does it affect insurance costs by much? dying to get my hands on a vr6 but thought i'd best be sensible till i hear the outcome of the court hearing! cheers,gaz

i can only speak from experience & if i was going to buy a rocco it would def be an injection version but then i'm sure there's load of excellent carb versions still going strong. loads of rocco's already have the weber conversion so you might be in luck. def worth a look though. just beware of the brakes or lack of!!!

not wanting to put a dampener on all the positives of scirocco ownership but i owned an 88 F reg GT & it was a total money pit. every common fault rocco's have mine had it, fuel tank replaced, filler neck,faulty pierburg 2e( weber conversion), leaky windscreen seal, new fuel lines, sliding heater control thingy jammed, gearbox problems & generally breaking down all the time! that car cost me a fortune & it never bothered me in the slightest, absolutely loved it! would do it all again but def go for an injected version next time! still look for them when i'm out driving & wish i still had mine, not at the expense of my rado mind! one day when the the gf lets me i'm going to buy a storm or scala & i'll be a very happy camper!
