thought i'd update my gallery coz it's been a while since i've wrote owt. here's a list of a few bits & bobs i've had done in the last couple of months. i'll add some pics when i get the chance. new timing chains new clutch top end service new front discs & pads (ate discs & green stuff pads) front end resprayed (to get rid of stonechips) grill & eyebrow colour coded wheels refurbished (couldn't get used to the speedlines) new alarm & immobiliser fitted also found out of a previous owner (jimmi) that the car's been chipped! woo hoo! not the best pics, crappy camera phone!

HELP!!! MY ELECTRICS HAVE GONE ALL WRONG!!
randomist replied to a98pmalcolm's topic in General Car Chat
just found the old relay in my glove box, think the part no. is 191 937 503 its just a 4 pin relay with 18 on the outside edge. think it only costs about 7-8 quid plus vat, give it a go first. what happened with mine was the abs light kept coming on & the heater went off, didn't know the the wipers were off coz it was the summer till much later when it finally rained! i came across a thread on here the day it was actually in the garage & quickly rang the mechanic to tell him to try this relay, he rang me back a couple of hours later saying it was sorted! saved me a fortune! hope this helps, let me know how you get on -
HELP!!! MY ELECTRICS HAVE GONE ALL WRONG!!
randomist replied to a98pmalcolm's topic in General Car Chat
this happened to me last year, done my f-n head in! mine was the number 18 relay, not sure if it'll be the same for yours. mines a vr, i assume your's is a g60? think i might have the old relay in my car, i'll see if there's a part number on it. back in a mo! -
think mine was classed as a group 16 coz it wasn't that much difference between the vr. if i was your age i'd think about a 2l valver & get a kr cam fitted, not be as fast as a vr but it'll still be plenty quick! but then once you've been in a vr you cant really see past 'em, it's the noise they make, that's what done it for me! if you can afford the insurance then go for it but get as much info as poss before buying. maybe have a look on this forum coz most of the cars that come up for sale are enthusiast owned & if they have it in the members gallery then you'll see all the history. you just have to remember the youngest corrado is over 11 years old so things can & will go wrong! you just have to hope its none of the expensive things! get yourself a credit card with a huge limit!

was washing my car on saturday when my teenage neighbour & all his mates pulled up outside his house in various chav mobiles saxos, 106's & the like. was quite amusing coz they all just sorted stared at my car without saying a word until one chap said ( in a very polite voice it has to be said) " excuse me mister (hate being called mister) don't suppose you want to sell your corrado, it's absolutely lush that?" said thanks but no thanks after all the money i've spent on it. actually got talking to them & they were really canny & quite clued up on corrados, one of their mates had just bought a g60 so not all charvers are clueless f-wits! restored a bit of faith in humanity it did! funniest thing was one lad said " i'd love a vr6 like yours, its wxnktastic!"
-
thought i had a set sorted but never came off, anyone else got a set for sale? need them by next weekend if poss? put this post in the wrong place! doh!
-
if money's tight then you're best off buying something cheap to run & insure. any older vw/audi diesel are cheap as owt to buy these days, something like an older passat round about the age of your c will be cheap as chips to buy & insure & they seem to be pretty much bullet proof! if it breaks down just scrap it & get another one! hondas & mazdas are usually totally reliable cars so maybe look at them. just a few more things for you to think about! :?

you've just got that S.A.D. (seaonal affected disorder) get yourself some sun on your back & come back refreshed & ready to get stuck into the niggly problems! you could probably get them all sorted in a weekend! not like you can do much in this weather anyway apart from sit in the pub! i had exactly the same dilemna 6 weeks ago, i hate it when things don't work as they should & it boils my pxss when they don't! justs eats away at me till i get them fixed bit once its done i'm a happy teddy again! mine was running like a bag of shxt & i knew the clutch was shot & i was thinking i may as well get the chains done at the same time but didn't know if it was worth it coz i just wanted shot of the car! so i thought i'd get them done anyway (always a good selling point) & while the car was in the garage i got it serviced new front discs & pads & they even fixed things that i hadn't realised were wrong! anyway, got the car back & instantly i knew i couldn't sell it! she's now running like a dream apart from my neighbour just put a dent in the passenger door with his! got the car booked into the paint shop for stonechips anyway so i'll just get the door done at the same time. meanwhile im going to rip my neighbours head off tonight & take a dump in his neck! just takes a bit of motivation to start one job then once you've fixed something it spurs you on to fix everything else! as you know there's a plethora of knowledge on here so someone will always know what certain problems are! soz for rambling on but you'll truly regret selling your c & there's no gaurantees that a newer car wont have similar teething problems! found that quite therapuetic!
-
apart from the opel every can mentioned so far i'd love! would love a mk2 mystic blue scirocco storm. thinking about my younger days i always wanted an mk2 escort rs2000 or an escort cossie when i'm in a charver mood! not sure about modern cars though, i'll have to have a think about it?
-
yeah i know, soz mate! if it makes you feel better i've just spent best part of a grand on a new clutch, timing chains, service & other assorted bits & bobs! worth every penny though coz she's running sweet as a very sweet thing! gis a shout if you need directions or any other help!
-
gutted for you mate, you haven't even had it that long! have you tried vee dubs in bill quay near heworth? they're a specialist vw breakers yard so worth giving them a ring. i've heard they do a lot of engine swaps & i've always found them reasonably cheap.(at the same time others have said they're expensive mind!) their number is 0191 4950366 if you need directions for it then just ask or i can take you there coz it's a bit tricky to find! good luck anyway, hope you get it sorted!
-
if i do take my car to car parks i park miles from everyone else, it's my neighbours who are doing the damage! don't have a garage so have to park outside my house. there's a bloke with a 306 estate & he has about 12 kids & they just sling the doors open & he insists on parking right next to me even though he doesn't even live on my street! i can feel my blood boiling again, think i need a lie down!
-
googled ding defenders & you're right, they are hideous! cool video of malcolm in the middle though! (find his mam strangely attractive in an older woman sort of way!) anyway, don't think i'll bother with them, looks like i'll just have to bubble wrap the whole car! saw a clip once of an alarm system when you stood next to the car it give a warning then shot flames out the side, can you actually buy them? that'll stop the twxts parking so close to my car!
