  2. i've got it insured ok i'm just thinking of selling it because it never gets used. i actually had it sold for 3.5k last february but had a crash on the day i was taking it to its new owner! i was just wondering what it would be worth now, does the value go down by a percentage if it's cat c?
  3. how much does it devalue your car if its a cat c write off. thinking of selling mine again but don't know where to pitch it. the repair was done by the garage who's looked after all my cars to a very high standard. everything lines up perfectly & the car drives straight & true. it was only a light damage front end so just got a replacement bonnet, bumper, slam panel & headlight & it was fixed.
  4. from what i can gather its a twxt of a job, had mine done a couple of months ago & the fitter said the corrado's one of the worst cars ever to work on! if you're fully comp check your insurance, you might have windscreen cover. cost me 60 quid & it doesn't affect your no claims. good luck if you do attemp it.....
  5. been rather busy with the old girl these past few months, spent a small fortune since the crash! going from 17's down to 16's has made a massive difference to the ride quality so i'll be sticking with 16's. quite fancy some bbs rx's at some point but i'll stick with the montreals for the time being. got the koni's fitted & the leather put in, got some smoked rear lens which i thought would look charvery but i really like them! got the lupo wipers on, fan-f-n-tastic mod, best thing you can do! other random stuff, had an arch repaired by an old school lead worker type guy, he did an amazing job of cutting out the rotten piece & blending another piece in. new pioneer mp3 head unit fitted & new speakers all round & probably other stuff that i've forgot about. just have to try to find where the water's getting in & that's it.........
  6. Any photos as thats the only one I could find. Tedman Ive already contacted the guy and the silver ones. The Monti's do look good but then so do the 4motion ones. here's a couple of pics of mine with the monti's, not great pics but you get the idea
  7. i've got monti's on mine, wasn't too sure at first but really like them now. plus there's loads of 'em about & pretty cheap
  8. i've been thinking it could be coming in through the screen but there's never been water in the drivers side but now there is. i'll try a few other things but if that doesn't sort it then i think i'll be taking the whole interior out & see if i can see where it's coming in. thanks for giving me a few more ideas anyway, think i'm going to be rather busy over the festive period!
  9. this is really doing my head him in! i've now found water in the drivers side footwell which must be running into to back footwell. i had a new stat put in the car 3 weeks ago & the coolant is still where it was so hopefully that'll rule out the heater matrix, checked the sunroof drain holes & all is working well there. i'm running out of ideas as to where the water's coming in, any other ideas? i'm thinking of pulling all the carpets out to see if that helps locate the leak!!!
  10. i was thinking it could be the heater matrix but wouldn't that make the front passenger footwell wet? that's bone dry so that's making me think it could be coming in through the sunroof drainholes or somewhere else from the back.
  11. well i thought the problem was all sorted after i had a new windscreen fitted but i've noticed the passenger side rear carpet is still wet. thought it might just be taking a long time to dry out but it's noticeably wetter now. the only thing i haven't checked are the sunroof drain holes, mainly coz i've no idea what i'm doing! i done a search & apparently you poke a bit of wire down the drain holes, is this right? also is there anywhere else the water can come in? like i've said before i've totally sealed by door membrane, changed the foliage cover, checked all the trim & seals round the doors & fitted a new windscreen. this is really doing my head in so any help would be great. cheer
  12. a trip up hartside sounds like a plan! mine could do with a decent ride out somewhere, hardly gets used at the mo!
  13. since putting 16" wheels on my car & prefering it i'm thinking of selling my 17" momo m1's. i've no idea what kinda price to put them up for & don't want to put them ebay & get peanuts for 'em. i've never seen them on another car yet alone a corrado & i remember jimmi (who owned the car a few years before i did) saying they cost a fortune when he bought them. i'm getting them refurbed again just to sort a couple of scrapes so they'll be in mint condition & the tyres are ok, maybe a few mil of thread left. i've attached a couple of pics of the wheels & how they look on the car, hopefully it'll help with trying to guess how much they are worth.
  14. thanks for that james, couldn't see mine coz it's covered in gunk! do you have to take the front end of the car off, looks a bit tricky to get too?
  15. just had a spadge at where you've pictured james but i'll be buggered if i can see where the stat is???!!! i can see the 3 senders but not the stat. also is it a big job to change the housing?
  16. pardon my ignorance but where is the stat situated?
  17. drove the car tonight on a 50 mile round trip & the temp gauge never moved above 70, usually it sits on the white line below the 110. also the air coming through the vents wasn't very warm. i think i had a similar problem in my old valver & changing one of the 3 sensors at the front right of the engine solved the problem. haven't had a chance check but do vr's have the same 3 sensors & any idea which one i need to change? i've did a search but couldn't really find the answer i was looking for.. cheers guys
  18. well it's been pxxsing down all day & so far the carpets are nice & dry! looks like it was the windscreen causing the leak. think i would've cried if the carpet was still getting wet but for now it looks like the problem's gone away. at least till the next problem arises...........
  19. just got my car back after getting a new screen fitted & hopefully my leak will be fixed........ when i got there they showed me a pic of a 3 inch patch of rust with a half inch hole near the driver side wiper that they suspect was letting the water in. it's been rubbed down, primed & patch up so hopefully that'll sort the problem. they also said a couple of gromits were missing in the engine bay ( i think he meant bulkhead ) which they've also replaced so maybe that wasn't helping matters either? they had the car over 6 hours so fingers crossed they've done a decent job, will post up if anything happens.
  20. its rac autowindscreen on scotswood rd over newcastle. i'll let you know what kinda job they do but it i might've just struck lucky. the guy who's doing mine is being asessed & he's hoping to go up a pay scale so he'll be trying to do the best job he can! ( or at least he'd better! )
  21. well the car's getting a new windscreen fitted today, just waiting to hear when it's ready. hopefully that'll fix the leak but i'm still going to do the hosepipe test tomorrow. i'll post up if i find anything out.
  22. so far i've checked the door membrane & stuck it down good & proper, changed the foliage cover seal but my pasenger front carpet is wet! just noticed my windscreen has a crack in it right next to the drivers side wiper but not sure if it was there before i started faffing on or i've done it when i was re-fitting the trims when i changed the foliage cover. probably a daft question but could a crack in my windscreen be the problem? would it let much water in? also how do you check the sunroof drain holes? looks like i'll be spending the weekend sitting in the car with a hosepipe on it till i find the leak! any ideas or advice would be great.....
  23. owdo michael, how the devil are ya, long time no see? car's looking stunning mate, love what you've done to it. do you still here from andy? think he sold his sherry pearl c but not sure. anyway, keep up the good work & hopefully might catch up with you next time your up this way.
  24. got a sony mdx-m690 mini disc head unit in my car & for some reason the control buttons on the left side have stopped working! the control buttons on the right work fine & it works fine using the remote. any ideas what the problem could be? i've tried cleaning the contacts at the back & checked the wiring but still no joy..... also does anyone know if any sony head unit would be compatible with the sony multi changer i've got in my boot?
  25. thanks for the offer mate, shame your so far away! that's what i really need, a drive in a corrado with different set ups but they're few & far between up here so not much chance of that! at the minute i'm thinking of going with either kw v1's which i've seen for 600 quid so it's only a bit more than i was expecting to spend or just replace the springs with h&r's & if that doesn't make much difference buy new koni t/a's or something similar. i'm slightly more tempted to go down the new shocks & springs route only because i kinda know what to expect as i've had no experience whatsoever with coilies. just finding it a bit frustrating trying to find what i'm after.
