  1. Is it actualy possible to visualy inspect? I thought it was all pretty well hidden, hence why it costs so much to get it done. My VR has done 125k and to my knowlege has not had the chain done, the engine is making no strange noises atm. Also i thought that the chain and clutch job was a bit more pricey than that?

    Wheel Squeak/Chafe

had a friend have a quick look and he's sure its the caliper intermitently catching on the outside of the disc. dunno if yours is the same surfer? - have you ever surfed polzeath btw? Gonna get the garage to have a look at it on monday...
  4. ..Only had the car (94 VR6) a few days and before I picked it up I know it had new brake pads and discs on the front (as part of a service). Now I don't know a lot about cars so maybe the brakes need a bit of time - but every time I turn a right corner or brake (anytime the weght is on the front left wheel) I get an intermittent squeak/chafe noise that occurs every revolution of the wheel. It can't be heard unless the windows are down. Where the discs/pads not fitted properly? Can't visibly see anything that would be causing this, i.e. big stick in the wheel arch. I've done a search but not come up with much. Any ideas anyone? Is it possible for a Corrado newbie to fix?
  5. I think there are only 4 or 5 now though, I saw a post from someone who has the interior taken from a campain (break?) in his corrado.
  6. Only had mine 3 days, my girlfriend exclaimed yesterday "oh my god, everyone is looking at us!" I don't even have any mods Went into the petrol station the other day and the dude asked me what pump number, I replied "No. 1", he looked out the window at my car then did a 'double take'... I smiled and thought - yep No.1
  7. Thought (seeing as I am new as well) I would steal your limelight and post a few pics of my new VR6 (picked it up on monday)..
  8. Thanks for the quick replies. The list of alarms on the direct line site has loads of lazerline ones and a few scorpions but no '5000's'. There are definatley no VW ones.
  9. I have an iTrip and for £25 its damn good. I also got a cigarette lighter charger from somewhere for a tenner, so the battery never runs out. I have never experienced hissing in the car but I have at home tuned into the hifi. Also after playing it through my seperates setup indoors I think the sound quality is pretty good (its as good as FM radio). I have also found that as well as needing to have the ipod volume high (80% is best quality) you also need to have the volume on your stereo up higher than usual.
  10. Hi, i'm new. Picking up my '94 VR6 in a week and am trying to sort out insurance. Direct line seem to be the cheapest (£860 fc) but I don't know what alarm is fitted in my car. The guy at the garage where i'm getting it from says it is the standard factory fitted alarm/immobiliser but on the direct line website there are no VW ones listed. I dont have access to the cars documents until I pick it up. So if anyone can help me I would be grateful, cheers then
