  13. Not really as you have to disarm your alarm, find the control unit, flick some switches on that then press the buttons on the new remote. Can only be done if you have the ability to disarm your alarm and find the control unit. They also send instructions for your specific alarm.
  14. Not wanting to start another 'mega' thread  but is there any reason you need 2 of the same arms? Could never really answer that from the other thread
  15. Hey chaps, just a quick one to say that if any of you have lost your alarm fobs or 'zappers' you should give these chaps a try! http://www.bridgwater-electronics.co.uk/ Ordered yesterday afternoon. A laserline remote cost £40 and came with instructions on programming the alarm to accept the new remote. May be a bit steep but it delivered by the next morning!!! Good service! Hope this helps someone.
  16. Re-coded my locks to accept me key!! Turned out that they didn’t! Also got a new alarm fob... http://www.bridgwater-electronics.co.uk/ for all your lost alarm fob needs!!!!
  17. Well on top of killing my alarm fob, my key not wanting to open anything but the boot! I have now just killed my driver’s door handle!! Had a look at it and it looks like the double pronged lever type thing has snapped off! I’m thinking that this is a common problem?? I tried a search but couldn't find anything related what can I do!!!! (ill have my new fob tomorrow but still cant open the door!!) cheers
  18. Well here's a few pics, sorry about the bad lighting. Could have made a neater job but was in a rush, anyway looks fine.
  19. Its easy, with a bit of grinding. Basically just cut plastic off rado key, clamped the old key blade agents the rado blade, grinded a similar shape neck. next clamped the rado blade against a flat piece of metal to drill a half circle grove at its base, which in conjunction with the retaining pin on the key, keeps the rado blade secure. Works a treat. Just need to program the fob now.. I used a dremmel type tool, took about 30 mins.. will post pic later
  20. yeah makes sense come to think of it.. .
  21. As far as coilovers go i think its a case of use bumpstops if they come with the kit. I had a set of raceland coils that used no bumpstops but have seem (possibly) FK kits with them on. I read a thread about the weathering of different coil kits on CGTI forum, Ill they to point you in the right direction for it if I can.
  22. Just a thought, but isn’t the compression different with a normal 8v head?
