Reprogramming a laserline alarm & vw flick key?? (pics)
sciroccotune replied to sciroccotune's topic in ICE 'n' Secure
WOW this thread has come back to life, Right the flick key can not be programmed to laser line alarms as they use 433 Mhz not 434 Mhz as randal correctly states. As for gutting a laserline alarm fob and putting it in a flick key it doesn’t work as you have to remove to much of the 'aerial' which is just a large area of printed copper on the pcb. As for reprogramming a laserline fob it can be done. I have instructions for 996V2/996V3/919/917/776/719. I think it may work for you paddyg but you are best checking your control box for the correct model number. As follows:- Note when programming a new fob ALL existing fobs/touch keys must be programmed in also. The system will accept a maximum of 4 fobs and two touch keys. Procedure: 1. Ensure that the alarm system is fully disabled using and existing fob/touch key. 2. Locate the alarm control box. 3. Turn on the vehicle ignition 4. Set Dip switch 3 to the ON position. If the LED is ON go to step 6 5. Press and release the arm/disarm button on a valid remote or insert a valid touch key. The LED will light continuously. 6. Press and release the arm/disarm button on the new fob (or insert and remove the touch key). This will be acknowledged by the led going off then on again. 7. Repeat step 6 with ALL fobs/keys to be programmed onto the system. 8. Set dip switch 3 back to off position and turn off ignition. 9. Test all new fobs/keys. May be worth a sticky mods?? -

any ideas of the best paint to use?
-
very nice! i think i'm gonna give this a shot.

Bit of a poll and question. I have an old set of tsw 16" multi spokes sitting in my yard, my plan was to paint em gloss black. Just fancy a cheap change really so titivating old wheels is ideal. So what do you guys think? Black wheels on a red C? Also what paint have you guys used for painting wheels with a loss finish?
-
want one, blue and cream or red and cream. cant even find one for less that 1.5K - one day!
-
As far as I know you can. I recoded my locks to accept the same key. It’s easy to do, just involves repositioning the inserts so that’s another option.

what else chews a hole in your wallet??

That’s the best mk2 colour! Almost got one once but the engine was a dog! Nearly let the colour sway me despite the engine lol A Corrado in this colour would be ace, would even change my idea of getting a nugget yellow one for my summer car for such a colour (wont be gtiing said nugget for a few years yet like.

I ordered this mount off a chap on the CGTI forum, will post a link if he says its ok. Only £45 cant be bad.. EDIT: I have spoken to mr.brown on CGTI and he is more than happy to help you guys. You should contact him via CGTI.. link: http://www.clubgti.co.uk/forum/forum_po ... PN=1&TPN=1 Construction Very nice, plastic/powder coated Installation. I have a 9a and the ‘ol bay is somewhat packed. I decided for easier access to the front mount I would remove the radiator/fan assembily. Once that was out of the way the installation is fairly easy, Un bolt the 2 bolts on the bottom of the mount, and the nut on top Jack up the engine (I did it under the gear box as only jacking a bit) Old mount out, new mount it. Used some thread lock on the hex bolts that came with it to stop them shaking loose etc. The test drive. Ok this whole ‘no more vibration’ thing is a bit of a myth! But read on its not all bad. When I started the car there was a quite a bit of vibration as my car is a bit shaky on start up. Once started the vibration wasn’t to bad at all, but defiantly noticeable through the steering wheel. When driving the whole thing settles down, still a bit more vibration than normal but then the Corrado is a ‘sports car’. Gear changes are 100% more smooth and rigid as are down changes and on/off throttle at speed. Now the beauty of this beast is the near instant pick up when you go for it off the line – mint. *Some sub frame movement but should be no problem as its bushed. Overall My mount was dead so maybe a new vag one would have giver similar results?? However I do doubt it. The solid mount cuts out 90% movement and gives better pickup/gear change/ acceleration with only slight increase in vibration. Hope this helps you make your mind up :D

sad thing is it looks done well....must have cost a bob or two!!

  bugger - well so much for saving money

I find its not the arms so much, more the lack of curvature on the normal blades. I’m thinking that with a aero blade and the amount it curves that they would work well, the may still need a bit of grinding of the supporting arm things though thanks for the reply :)
-
Ok chaps, searching German ebay i have found a guy that sells aero wipers for standard arms.. And also a few lupo sets. Two questions: 1. how long are the lupo wipers that are used for the corrado. 2. is there anyway of making a passengers side lupo arm fit (im told they are to long) cheers If you want to look try searching 'Aero-Twin Scheibenwischer'
