The only cure is to finish the damn thing

Car idled perfectly but had big bore TB, new distributor and new fuel reg fitted and now the car idles at about 650rpm but some times rises for no apparent reason, rises to 1000rpm, some time the revs don't seem to drop as quick to tickover on blipping the throttle, ie. they fall quicky to 1500 rpm then slowly to 650rpm. ideas?
-
Picked the car up today, just had big bore throttlebody fitted along with new alternator, new distributor, fuel pressure regulator and new plugs. Not running perfect tho' :( Then a 7hr stint of cleaning + fitting roof lining + A and C pillars. Ton's to do, less then a week to go, so it will be at GTi Festival semi finished.

Yes, seen them on ebay. I want a full cage in mine :)
-
Not really trying to break new ground, just building the car i want. Still, theres not a standard panel on it. The dash is genuinely original.
-
Just had to show you the paint now i've give it the first of many coats of polish. Reminds me abit of the preditor the way its reflecting the background.

Mines a 92' has a plastic cover, i'd say the answer is no.

wonder how TVR have got around this problem of gaining enter with no lock or handles with a flat battery?
-
Yeah, suppose i only need to be able to charge the battery externally. I'll look in maplin for a plug connector to stash behind the tow eye.
-
Got an interesting problem. My C no longer has any external locks, so any bright ideas on how i can get into my car if the battery goes flat? (no bricks and breaking of glass  ). Ideas? Hidden second external soleniod button for the tailgate?

I'm dying to post pics showing it in all its glory but it would spoil the impact of seeing it in the metal before the pics appear on the forum. Only two weeks (hopefully) until its return.

:D :D :D Its back!! :D :D Had to drive it back with the Coilovers on full hard until the ride height and wheel spacing is perfected. Very bouncy but remarkably, not harsh at all. FK's are the dogs. The paint job, amazing. Those rear wheels.
-
Slightly OT, but i did promise Bally these pics of my C. Picking the C up tomorrow :D If your on the A1 between 12-2pm you can't miss me
-
Buy them at a show, FK were £140 at inters and Inpro £160. Thats a massive saving as Inpro's are £200 + VAT + P&P mail order.
-
Any idea what size the nuts are which fix the cam cover on a VR6? M6? My C's still 60miles away so i can't check. TIA

Not yet, last time i went there was no, glass, front bumper, bonnet. Plus I'm saving a few mods for the first show. Wait while you see the engine

Steve was going to paint it for me in december, but Carl taylor crashed his car and Dan rolled his so he kept having to push mine back. I really wanted the car finished this year and steve couldn't be sure when he could do it. So i had to cancel on him which we were both gutted about. The new painter is also on the scene and a mate of steve's, who steves been ribbing relentlessly (as he does) about being up to the job of painting my car. Hence he's making sure he does a belting job as he knows steve will be trying to find the slightest flaw in his work..
-
bingo. Don't worry, the painter will be getting all the praise he deserves. I was very lucky to catch him at the right time, my car was at his shop within a week of asking him to do it. He's now booked up till next year.
-
You've missed something.
-
Just for you Jim,
-
I'm actually worried about getting the car back, it will be heartbreaking getting the first scratch or stone chip. Its the first time i've ever had new paint. Picking it up next saturday. :) then got the engine to build up, get the trim in and the dash swapped. Some of the new stuff is going to have to wait till later in the season or for the PVW shoot as i just don't have the time.
-
I know its completely stupid and never intended to do this. I've turn a car i love driving in to a car that becoming completely impractical. But i've got to finish it now i've started and it's impossible to cut any corners when you decide to do something to a certain standard.
-
Since kev doesn't want me to show more pics of the body mods :( , here's the result of 20hrs of polishing instead.
-
There never complete :!: :!: :!:

The indicators are least of my worries come mot time. Think your right about getting out more tho'.
