Congratulations to you and the family Jay.

Red leads are standard from VW and at £128.00 a real bargain........
-
When I jacked the VR up today to put the speedlines on I noticed that the front struts tops and coilovers would move around. Is this normal or are the strut tops knackered?
-
Fitted red leads today and painted the engine cover:
-
Finished engine pics: The plates where from Passion Restoration Products. Bill said the car was originally from the main dealer near him but looking through the service book and speaking with VW, it more then likely came from Merlins. The plates are spot on quality and they make window stickers and tax disc holders too but not sure whether to fit them or not (mike stick with the Corrado club tax disc holder). I was a bit miffed with PRP as I ordered plates begining of December and they promised me them for Christmas, I got them on the 29th Dec. They had great communication until I sent payment!!! I measured the car on the RS's and front was 585mm and the rear 600mm (measured from floor through the centre of the wheel to the bottom of the wheel arch). I then put the speedlines on and the measurement hasn't changed, still 585mm and 600mm. Not sure whether to raise it 20mm or so as I arent sure on the ride height at the moment. Pictures as promised (bit crappy as my camera doesnt take good shots in the garage and it was raining outside), I'll take better ones when it comes out: Out of interest, what height does yours run at?
-
Yeah, I agree. Its getting painted tomorrow. Strut caps are gone already. Did they have any caps on from new? the black parts under the chrome have a VW part number on them. No probs, I'll let you know - your not going back to speedlines are you?. Does anyone know the standard ride height of a Corrado on 15's?

Finally got round to changing the Inlet manifold over and loosing some of the 'bling'.: still to decide wether to paint the engine cover to match the manifold or leave as is. Also, pick up my red HT leads tomorrow so will post a better pic when I fit them on Sunday. My daughter bought these for me for Christmas: Next job in the Holidays is to fit the refurbed speedlines and raise the suspension a little.
-
What about RH ZW1's? They really suit a Corrado and probably the only wheel I'd consider changing RS's for.
-
All done now except for the new HT leads. Not a bad job really and easier then expected. It did seam that everything I wanted to remove was covered by something which led to something else being taken off!! Started with leads, and engine covers: I tried to take the throttle body off and leave the throttle cable connected but one of the screws was really tight so I had no choice, was probably the best thing to do though. Everything removed: Putting everything back was easy and I had it done, a lot less 'bling' but more OEM and as I wanted it: Going to have to slowly start taking things off the engine now and cleaning it up.
-
Does look really smart but wanted to go back to standard. Red HT leads to be ordered tomorrow I think.
-
The Engine is as I bought the car, but I believe Bill bought the cover and had the VR6 DOHC etched on it. I'll keep the pics coming as I progress. I changed the gaskets incase and they were only £15 for the manifold and throttle body. Hi Chris, I think this should be the link to my thread. http://the-corrado.net/showthread.php?58058-Blackberry-VR6-BBS-RS301-s-17-year-wait!
-
Quick pick to start with then:
-
I do laugh at these but found it a real shame what they did to the mini. I do hope it was switched half way through or was a damaged one to start with!!
-
Cheers guys, managed to find a hex socket that will fit in the cap screws at the front. These are now loosened so full steam ahead. plenty of pics will be taken so I know how it goes back together, I'll post em up.
-
I'm going to change over the inlet manifold on my VR6, I've got the new gaskets but wondered if the bolts needed to be torqued up afterwards or just pulled nice and tight! Is it a fairly simple job? If anyone in or near Hull fancies popping over and giving me a hand it would be more then welcome!!!

Looks awesome, cant wait to have a good look over this next year And RS301's are the way forward in my opinion....

Remove the stereo install (amps, subs etc), put the engine bay back to standard and try and clean more engine parts.

Spotted a blue VR parked on a driveway in Hartlepool near to Elwick. Anyone on here? was going to stop if I could see someone around.

I'm going to try and make as many shows as possible, so you best save me a space at most events! (the car cost enough and need to get my moneys worth)
-
Hi Chris, long time no see! When is it being painted? Anything else happening with it? Me and Katy will probably see you at the shows next year now I've got a Corrado. Chris
