Some good advice thanks. I think that I will remove the paint from the middle slats on the grille and paint the reflectors black as suggested. I won't get to drive it till Monday night, so if I am still alive afterwards I will post the results.

After many unsuccessful attempts at purchasing a replacement glass for my busted in-pro headlight I thought it may be worth trying the original glass. They clip straight on and I am really pleased with the result. I was never 100% happy with the clear glass as it looked a bit to bling for my liking. I have not tried them at night yet so I don't know how this mod will effect the beam pattern. Will test & put the results up when I can. Please let me know what you think. Also let me know which grille I should stick with. I cant decide ;-) With Original Grille With Eyebrow Grille

Yes, they would fit a standard unit, trouble is you cant get a clear lens from anywhere. trust me, I have tried everything, even contacting in-pro directly. If anyone knows where I could get a drivers side clear lens please! let me know.

Hi, If you are the importer could you import some lenses please. It's a bit underhand to sell lights but not lenses for when the inevitable happens.

Someone lend me about 25k and I will be 1st in the q

not sealed as I have posted on another thread, just remove the 8 clips. O/S busted so I took the lens off to plug the hole. Still looking for a new lens if anyone can help I would be most happy.

The beam is wrong anyway ;-) feck knows how it got through the MOT last year. I got the lights direct from germany via eBay 18 months ago. They are aligned for left hand drive. I have been told that if you get them from a UK supplier that they give you instructions on how to set them up for the UK. If anyone has these it would be great. High speed driving on country roads is not recommended with my current set up unless on full beam. I am pretty annoyed that in pro don't sell the glass as last time I looked the sets were over £200 if I had known I would not of bought them. A repair is out of the question as there are cracks as well as a hole.

thank khurrado but they are not the same, the in pros are clear. I was going to limin-x on it was on my urgent to do list then sods law was applied :-(

Hi all I had a stone go through the glass. I have plugged the small hole it made with araldite but it looks nasty. I am having trouble locating a replacement lens. I don't want to fork out for a whole new headlight. The glass just unclips so surely there must be a replacement available. Thanks

Hi all I recently removed the carbon canister on my VR6 to alow my induction kit access to cold air. Should I a: leave to tubes as they are b: Join them together (ie bypasing the cc) c: Stop being so silly and put the cc back d: Something else Tried a: but got a putt putt noise on tickover. Tried b: but the car does not start as well as it used to. Cheers Nick

I def want some german plates. If I get stoped by the law I will just babble on in german. Hey I may even get away with a number of motoring ofences by prtending to be german

Easy 10 minute job. If I can fit them anyone could ;-) I think they are a vast improvement on the OE, eapescially at night with some nice blue tinted bulbs in. The only problem is I think they were for a left hand drive as the light shines higher on the O/S I have tried to adjust but I suspect it may fail the MOT next month. I may just put the old ones back on for the MOT. If anyone has had a similar prob & has a solution I am all ears!

Thanks all Think I agree. Will leave it as it is. Hi Mr Beige :D You would not believe how much better the car is. To think that I have been driving it like that for over a year! I knew there was something wrong but never guessed it would be that simple to fix. Goes like the clappers now & since I rerouted the induction kit it roars like a lion grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thanks, hope to get an image or two of the interior up soon.

I was converted to optimax a while back. I Went to fill up the other night and optimax has been replaced by Shell. It now sells V-Power 99 octane! I noticed an almost immediate change for the better in the c. Its more expensive than supermarket fuel but If I wanted cheap motoring I would not have bought a VR6 in the first place.

phew, 8 hours was longer than I expected! Due to rusted parts. I had to resort to the hacksaw in the end. Its done now but the back is to low, looks like I have a boot full of sand ;-). Wont take me long to raise it a bit when I have recovered from today's efforts. When its all done with new tyres I will post a pic. Thanks for your help on this.

yeah, got the compressors. had a problem with the top mount bolt as the shock was turning. poped into the tyre place round the corner & they did it with an air ratchet. major prob is now trying to get the 2nd bolt off to get to the spring plate & dust cover. The nut is stuck tight & I dont think its going to come off. any ideas?

Ok supercharged I am about to fit my kit but have a question about the front bumpstops. I got the Mk4 stops as recomended but I am unsure how much, if any, to lop of them as you stated that they are shorter. Also is there a thread anywhere with step by step instructions on the fitting of suspension on the VR? Have looked but cant find anything. Cheers
-
yeah thanks, spoke to the people just round the corner from work, they recomended both Toyo & Avon, Avon wins so far at £78 each. Will get them fitted and the wheels aligned after I (hopefully) get the shocks on this weekend.
-
will do. are all parts people miserable? is it one of the qualifications :-) GSF staff where well helpfull, not grumpy & fairly clued up on the C
-
ok, have ordered the mk4 front bump stops & top mount kit from GSF as I had no luck with the local VW dealer. Called for a price/stock & they could not be bothered to call me back. Usual cock service from Barnards !

Hi, found the info I had before [http://www.spax-suspension.co.uk/c1473_3203_7704_7705_7725.htm] lists 2 kits for the VR a TAP107 which I have & a TAP190 The site states that the TAP190 lowers by :40mm but the TAP107 says lowers by: (nothing indicated) Most confusing. However I just gave them a call & there is no difference between the 2 kits. Wish I had called before I presumed they were standard height ;-) So if anyone wants a set of 40mm lowered springs let me know or look on ebay soon! Stu, I still have the Wolfrace Europsort wheels with nankang ultrasport NS-II tyres. Need 2 new fronts after I have fitted the suspension. Can you recomend the best tyres or should I stick to the nankangs?
