    Ccgb?

I too can feel rather an outsider in many event type days. But I think this is a natural feeling, annoyingly you have to put quite alot of effort in to these things to reap the rewards. Sadly many of the regulars at these events are just that, regulars! Overall not many people come along and show their enthusiam or comimitment to joining in and becoming an active member. The way I have made good friends in the CCGB is through the Weekend Events, where you get to have real time with people. Although we can all have times when you meet people for the first time and you just click, but there are plenty of others when it is not like that and takes building on. And ontop of all that - We are Brits after all ! Somewhat reserved ! I think your point none the less will be taken on board. And - I can't help but say - Are the other Club Memberships just £10.00 ?? (Hopefully I won't get all red faced here !!!!!)

    Ccgb?

As most of you will know, I am not a Committee Member, but a very active Club Member who I believe really contributes to the Club. The CCGB is only a lax, due to the same old people getting up off their backsides - when they have time - to do something for the Club. My response is not aimed at any one person in particular - but - Personally I am sick to death of people complaining about the Club they are always the ones who are never offering to help, submit articles let alone think to arrange any type of social gathering themselves. If they only did this they may understand exactly how much effort goes into orgainising such things. I hope all those complaining will be attending the AGM next April to put themselves forward to the Committee. With no Club, there would not be the events for the Forum folk to even consider attending, so to pay the £10 Membership I feel is a small price to pay. Most people who orgainise these things will be out of pocket considerably more than £10. Feeling much calmer now !!! Please remember this post was not aimed at anyone specifically.
  4. I am joining you, brilliant market - worth a trip. Looking forward to it.
  5. Brilliant day guys. Despite not being too involved with the cars running on the rollers, there were nice cars all around, the smell and sounds of good cars, sunshine, not too cold and then meeting up with old friends and meeting new folk. Not a bad drive in the morning - yeah Good day. I agree we have got to get name badges, I am really crap at remembering names, especially if I see someone once a year for 5 minutes to talk to !!!!!!!!!! So, again - sorry if I did not recall your name. Usual Thanks, Jim, he is a star, these things do take some pretty serious organisation and time. To everyone who helped on the temporary fix of my car window. Fay - I think your kindness was really appreciated by OllieVR6, so no worries. And of course to Vince for the coffees and storing of my car for window fixing !
  6. It really is great to see people come together and help each other out. Restores the faith that sometimes gets lost in this mad world of ours. Looking forward to a good day tomorrow, weather forecast is sunshine !!
  7. Cool, looking forward to it. Miles is also joining us. Skies have been clear in the mornings and for a couple of days now, forecast indicates same for tomorrow. It was thick fog until Wednesday. !! Hope those with problems with their cars get them sorted to join us. BBQ is now at Stealth, so food with be within an hour of arriving ish !! Safe journeys everyone.
  8. Oh that's a shame, I hope you managed to get it fixed and join us tomorrow. By the way guys, if you have not been to one of the RR days before, it does get very serioulsy cold. Do have extra clothes with you. I checked today with Vince, he does have plenty of coffee and hot chocolate !! Wendy
  9. See I said you had plenty of time to fix it !!!! See you on Sunday
  10. That's the one. The Esso website gave a postcode of OX16 8SZ.
  11. Brilliant, So, lets meet at the Esso Garage. Coming off the M40, take the 1st Exit into Banbury, at the next roundabout, take the 1st exit left, straight over the next roundabout, the Esso station is on the left with parking both infront and behind the pumps. I will be there for 8.45 unless I hear from you otherwise. I will also pm you my mobile number. Wendy
  12. Brilliant. Where to meet - Banbury is easiest, I have suggestions of where, my 1st choice being a limit of about 6 cars, so will just wait to see if numbers grow. Either way, 2 minutes drive off the motorway. Then, what time. I would like to be at Stealth 9.30 latest, so 8.45 -9am, I can do a tad earlier if necessary but would prefer to just drive faster !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously, I do not want to do before 8.30am. Its Sunday !!!! Hope its dry on Sunday and not foggy, has been massively so last 5 - 6 days.
  13. I hope you are all getting off the M40 at Junction 11 (Banbury) and joining the A423 to Southam - excellent Road and picking/meeting me up on route !! ??
  14. Cheers Steve !!!! Don't put everyone off though - I love a good blast down to Stealth in convoy and think we should have one from Banbury, or the layby just past my village.
  15. Not Again !!! I keep missing this - already booked up !! Shame I am desperate for a run again - been very few this year. And - apart from a strange door lock problem - very much in love with my car - she is running superbly !!
  16. I will try that - Thanks and put spare key in bag.
  17. Went to car yesterday - and key would not unlock door - Agh !! Opened boot with key fob and tried again - successfully. This happened again later and I just kept patiently trying key and eventually got in. So - is this the door key lock that is going/faulty ? Am I likley to be locked completly out of the car at all ? If so, How do I get in ? Is this something that needs replacing and are they still availbale does anyone know and at what sort of cost ? Will squirting with oil into the lock help at all ? Thanks Wendy
  18. There is also a Hand Car Wash just down the road too - although I don't know if its open on Sunday. There is definitely a Hand Car Wash (Romanians !) open in Banbury, approx 12 miles from Stealth.
  19. All this just proves to me how sensible I really am - despite some friends thinking I can be a little wild in my ways of thinking. Serioulsy I wish I had that type of money to throw away and be foolish with. I do not mean any offence - but I really do think you have been offered some very good advise here and are just ignoring it. Presumably the reason you came onto the Forum is for advise from people who own and know these cars. I do however wish you luck with whatever you decide.
  20. Put prices into the equation if it is a cost issue only. I doubt running a second car no matter how economical it is will be anything other than more expensive then your current costs. A second car is going to also cost on running repairs, plus of course the initial outlay. If it is saving the Corrado's mileage - then take it off the road. Simples !!!
  21. The only reason I have not sold my car at several times in the past - is observing what seems to happen to the majority - they buy another. Now being very fugal with my money, this is therefore just not an option. Losing money on cars is not something I handle well. Plus I am told so many times that I have a really good car - so if I bought another I would be so dissappointed if it did not match up to the one I own now. Although it has 186500 miles on the clock, I am only the second owner and I think it shows. One day, I may eventually buy a run around, but I love my Corrado and am not sure I could really see it parked up in the garage. As has been said before - you will be back !!!!!
