  1. £182 delivered from Awesome-GTI for the Neuspeed rear, I had a look at others but they were the cheapest and sold the rear on its own. Dead easy to fit, just bolts on iirc, didn't take my mechanic long at all.
  2. Mmmm RWD and turbo 8) Wonder what that's like to drive...
  3. Quite a few insurance companies seem to be trialling this sort of thing, although the ones I've heard about are based on how many miles you do, not what hours you drive it. Can't see how they work out not driving between 10pm and 6am will save money, surely you're less likely to have an accident because the roads will be quieter? I certainly wouldn't agree to it anyway, having them know the details of every journey you make is way to big brother for my liking.

    R32

I'd say get a manual R32, my mate has a mk5 gti company car with DSG and reckons the DSG is a load of sh1t that spoils the car, interferes way too much apparantly. Might be better in the R32 though?
  5. Is the effect more pronounced on the VR then? I ony noticed a minor improvement when my 25mm rear ARB was fitted :?
  6. Sweet Jesus that's fast! 8) 16vT is definately the way forward...
  7. I would say the Febi-Bilstein from vwspares.co.uk (£52 delivered), or OEM would be your best bet. There was a thread last week about how crap the GSF rear mounts are, personally I wouldn't trust their fronts after reading that. edit: ignore that last sentence
  8. I like them both but if I had to choose it would be number 2
  9. Bonnet bra's look really sh!t to me, I'd take stone chips over one of those anyday of the week. (also dislike pretty much everything already mentioned)
  10. The original thread on here about it http://the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewtopic.php?t=43539
  11. I've recently changed all the mounts on mine to febi-bilstein from vagparts, all looks to be good quality stuff, reasonably cheap and have had no vibrations or untoward side-effects since having them put on.
  12. Shame, I used to like the old Astra GTE. £2K for an exhaust though?!? Clown.
  13. I hate everyone on the roads when I'm out for a drive and regularly swear at them, not that they can hear but it makes me feel better. (You easily get fecked off when virtually everyone on the road where you live is of retirement age and consequently drives way under the limit). Also, I quite often give innocent people the V for coming the other way at one of the three overtaking places on the 15 mile journey to work.
  14. Herbie ... sinister? What could be sinister about a beetle with a mind of it's own, that pays no attention to it's driver, falls in love with other cars, has it's own passport, oh wait... Wasn't that the Italian Job?
  15. So many to choose from, can't pick a favourite but always liked the Batmobile from Batman Returns, most Bond cars (esp. the white Esprit), Herbie, and the Smokey and the Bandit Trans-Am. The DeLorean probably wins though.
  16. Ah yes, I've watched that bit back now, wasn't watching that closely first time so I thought it was just his clothes flying off .... it wasn't!
  17. It's not that bad, just some really painful looking accidents, there's no blood and guts but it's definately not one for the squeamish.
  18. Well I went with HIC for mine, after a bit of phoning around for other quotes they reduced the price from £597 to £545 and the excess from £425 to £250 . Could probably have got brentacre to beat it but HIC did a better job of selling their policy and I didn't have time to spend all day talking to insurance companies. Maybe if you spend time calling different insurers you might get yours down to a sensible level Jim?
  19. The GPC website it well known for being crap, in fact I don't think it's ever been updated, the price for front splitters has been incorrect for years.
  20. We've got them in Devon now aswell, on the M5 roadworks at Exeter. Like others have said, you spend more time keeping an eye on your speedo than looking out for potential hazards. Not that I ever speed through roadworks but it can't be safe for everyone to be constantly making sure they're not creeping over 40.
  21. What a tool! Some of his other work http://www.skylineowners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=56873 Edit: forgot to mention that some of the language in the thread is NSFW.
  22. Limiting the mileage makes a fair difference too, so if you don't actually do 12,000 a year it's worth telling the insurer.
  23. It's crazy, out of curiosity I've got quotes for stuff like Lambo's, Aston's, etc. and the premiums are usually about the same as the Corrado! There must be something making yours higher though, loads of miles? business use? proximity to dodgy areas?
  24. Welcom to the forum 9olo, nice looking Polo you have there, Weitecs have a good rep on here, not sure about the air filter but the bmc induction kit seems popular with VR owners.
  25. That's odd Jim, I spoke to martinb at HIC on monday about mine and was quoted £597, and mine's kept on the drive, only have 2 years no claims (3 with elephant but nobody accepts their stupid 10 month accelerator), 3 points from an sp30 in september, and an "unknown combined alarm/immobilizer" (all I know is it's a Toad, could be a cat 1 but I don't have a certificate). It's limited to 6000 miles though. Need to get a few more quotes yet before commiting, the excess was about £425, which is a lot higher than I would like.
