  1. Now that's a Ford I wouldn't mind owning!
  2. Verrrrry nice, I do love the sound of a charged VR :)
  3. You big girls blouse, a 1.1 petrol engine in a paxo, difficult to park
  4. Probably not, it's possible, although sadly unlikely, that her insurer may have forced her to have a medical exam to check if she was still fit to drive. Or her premium may have gone up enough that she could no longer afford to drive.
  5. I've had the estate version of that as a hire car (might have been a 1.6 though) and they are pathetically slow. Think the worst motor I've driven was a 80's nissan sunny I had as a courtesy car two years ago, truly horrible car, even had a coat hanger for an aerial  Never been so embarrassed when driving a car!
  6. Not being funny but if she didn't even notice she hit another car she shouldn't be allowed to drive a car, a wing mirror is nothing, next time it might be a small child she hits and just carries on oblivious.

    Hello

Welcome to the forum, a VR6 is quite a step up from a punto 1.2! 8)
  8. Talk about a lucky escape!
  9. I've never done any work on a car, wouldn't even trust myself to change the oil without something going wrong  That's why it goes to the garage whenever anything needs doing, bought a new throttle cable for it the other day, supposedly dead easy to do yourself so it shouldn't take my mechanic long to fit. Oddly enough I've always bought haynes manuals though :? needless to say they remained pristine and got given away when the cars were sold.
  10. They may not be mass produced but Caterhams (factory built ones) and Lotus's are still classed as production cars, in fact the Caterham R500 held the Autocar 0-100-0 mph production car world record in 2004. That has 230bhp from a n/a rover 1.8 k-series engine (128bhp per litre!).
  11. Yep 1995, the P plate ones were just registered late.
  12. Think I've got that book buried in the loft somewhere, forgot the Corrado was in it, I like the comment about it being "bullet proof"! Almost as good as one of the magazine reviews that praised it's good headlights.
  13. I personally wouldn't use tyretest.com as more than a rough guide, the last time I looked on there the t1-r was rated overall best tyre so I bought some, not a bad tyre but certainly not as far infront of others I've tried as it's score would suggest. Next time I'm going with Kev's recommendation, he seems to have tested all the major ones that come in standard sizes so should know better than most. matth76, Michelin don't make the Pilot Sport in standard VR sizes.
  14. That's harsh, if fully comp you should have audio equipment protection up to a certain amount (£450 with elephant), don't think you need to have declared it to the insurer either unless it's worth more than that. Stuff like this happening is one of the many reasons I'm glad not to live in a city anymore, living in Manchester when at Uni I had my car broken into twice in the space of eight days, all they got were a few tapes I'd left in the glovebox, cost me £100 in excess payments ... feckers! Nowadays I occaisonaly forget to lock the car in town but never have to worry about anything being stolen (never remove the HU fascia and there's always change in the coin slots for parking aswell).
  15. I prefer the bottom ones, the others are too obviously aftermarket for my liking.
  16. This site any use? If you have a look at the fundamentals section on there the part number you have doesn't match up to the ones listed. 64580 is the correct GSF part number for the S2 though.
  17. According to this site, Porsche introduced their active spoiler in 1988. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a joint development between them and VW.
  18. Gutted  It will happen eventually though :(
  19. 14/19, but if I was driving along at the time I wouldn't have seen many in time to slow down, sly feckers! We've just had the pleasure of specs cameras being installed on the M5 (between junct 29 and 30), feckin load of balls, never heard of a single accident there caused by excessive speed.
  20. lol, nice idea but unfortunately it doesn't work like that, the more weight there is the harder the brakes have to work to slow you down
  21. If, like you say in your other thread you're eventually going to charge it, then big brakes are pretty much essential. As for cost, 312 conversions are reasonably cheap, or you can spend £1.2-2K on 4, 6, or 10 pot kits. http://www.the-corrado.net/wiki/index.php/312mm_brakes
  22. What a c0ck! (The borbet centres held up impressively well though)
  23. It will certainly help your handling, replacing the worn T1-S's on mine with T1-R's made a very noticable improvement to the handling and general feel of the steering.
