Hi, A mechanic friend the other day told me that he thinks the piston rings have gone on my valver, because of the smell (kinda rich exhaust smell) and it get through oil a bit too quickly. Does anyone have any other ideas?or if it is the rings what the best to go about fixing it? cheers

Basically the flywheel stores the kinetic engery from the engine, it like keeps the momentum going. If you lighten it the engine has less weight to move and will rev up quicker but will also go down the rev range quicker aswell.

i ordered mine from GSF, about 5 quid a bottle and you only need about half of it. To bleed the system just raise the front of the vehicle and unscrew the cap off the pas reservoir thingy and do loads of lock to lock turns and just keep the reservoir topped up as your doing it.

Just changed the fluid - twas very dark green, now it' sgot some nice new stuff in it, i bled the system aswell and it seems to have sorted the problem.

Yeh done that, got a feeling the previous owner used the other stuff tho, i might try draining the fluid and replacing it with the green stuff just to be sure.

Hi, The power steering on my corrado is VERY noisy, sounds like it's straining or something and groans alot. The belt is ok but does squeek on full lock. Is the pump shot? Thanks for any help

Hi my corrado has a clifford alarm (not sure which one as it was fitted by the prevvious owner) with a remote to activate the central locking. The remote locks the vehicle and sets the alarm, but does not unlock the car only deactivates the alarm, so i have to unlock the car with the key. Not a major problem i know, but it still annoys me.

Yeh it's around that neck of the woods, mine had broken off cos it was just hanging down, i'm not sure where exactly is mounts up i just wedged it into a gap and taped it in.

That's what i first thought, but it only fits in one way. don't matter much tho, just one of those little annoying things.

Hi, i recently brought a new ambeint temperature sensor (£20 +VAT!) as mine was for some reason missing. After fitting it the MFA reading was fine although there was a minus sign in the middle of the screen at what ever temperature it was reading. Is it always like that cos this is the first time i've had it working and it's on my first corrado! Any ideas? or iam i just being an idiot?!
