IIRC i could not get the draper one to work very well, i think it says somewhere on the opacket that it's not suitable for VW's, it will work tho. What i did was to find an old socket and grind it down until there was just two pegs left and use that to turn it.

Sorted the bugger. The horn "loom" (if you can call it that - it's only about four wires!) had a dodgy bit of wire on it that had worn through and was occasionally earthing onto the body of the car.
-
Yeh i got the twin pack one maded by a company called 'ring'. They just have two spade connectors on each horn that i just plugged in to the existing connectors. I treid swapping all the connections as well, but still no luck, i'll have another bash tomorrow though
-
Just tried the new horns and...........nothing, this is doing my head in, what's going on???!!! All the fuses and relays are fine and i have 12 volts all the way to the connections for the horn it's self. All i can think of is that the horns i brought aren't designed to relplace a factory twin horn setup like a corrado, cos they come with a relay and stuff.
-
I've got a healthy 12 volts at each terminal, so i tried taking the horns apart but they're pretty much sealed units, so i got a nice set from halfrauds for about 10 quid, that'll do
-
Yeh i'm guessing that the switch end's ok cos the relay's clicking on and off
-
Yeh i did that first (cos i could sit inside the car - away from the cold)
-
yeh it's the two tone set up, i'll get on the case tomorrow - if it doesn't snow! cheers
-
Ok the relays ok and so are the fuses. What is the best way to check the wiring with a multimeter?
-
Nope nothing, just that very wierd clicky noise
-
What is says really, i've checked all the fuses, connections and earths but still nothing. My biggest clue is that when you press the horn you get a clicking noise from behind the fuse box, almost like a relay. Also the radiator fan doesn't seem to work any more and as there on the same fuse do you think it's connected?? Can anyone please help??

i got one for my 16v last week for about £130 for euro car parts, it was a reconditioned genuine one. watch out for the £100 surcharge tho! -
I eventually got mine out of a passat at the scrappy.
-
It's ok i've found out it's 22 for 1991 onwards and 36 for anything before that.
-
It's about steering racks (sorry to disappoint you) I need to know if the input shaft for a 1991 valver w/pas has 22 or 36 splines. Can anyone help?
-
I've got to place all 4 rear solid pipes, rear calipers, steering rack, one tyre and afew suspension bushes. I'm getting my mate to do the brake pipes as i'm not 100% sure of what i'm doing and i don't want to risk it. But he reckons no more than about 4 hours.

Take it your MOT didn't go too well then mate
