Provided you already have a TRW rack it should be okay.

I think you might notice a significant weight-saving - in the wallet...
-
Herefordshire - not Hertfordshire... Think other end of the M4...
-
I'm in Herefordshire. They fit fine - see the picture.
-
Hmmm... Well, the 16v is running 7" with ET35. The VR is running 7" with ET42. The 16v does have coilovers though.

It shouldn't be too much of a problem. They were stuck down with a bituminous mastic that stays sticky - so a little cleaning with lighter fluid and thumb-pressure will stick it back in place. If it's shredded, then go buy yourself some damp-proof membrane from B&Q. Otherwise waterproof duck-tape is the answer.

ET43 for a VR...

If the door seal (fitted to the body of the car rather than the door) is wet, it's time to check the condition of the waterproof plastic film behind the doorcard...

Mine are the M3 style red/clear items.

No idea. I do seem to have 2 spare sets though...

Yes - to a KR engine.

Now sorted. The braket was bent...

Maybe I should look at this as an opportunity rather than a problem. Anyone got a good front-mount intercooler for sale?
-
For £125 you can have my Inpro's...
-
Yup. But I haven't fitted it yet.

Like it says in the title. There's a reinforcing rib on the inner side of the bumper skin that's fouling on the base of the intercooler - it means the bumper on that side of the car won't sit right. I can trim it back to get clearance, but that still leaves me wondering why. Anyone with a standard intercooler got some pictures with the bumper off showing were it's supposed to sit?

Thats why I recommended the GF1602R - a mild change in profile for less than £200. Plus you get to spit flames out of the exhaust on over-run... :D

The cables end up out of adjustment because the engine and gearbox mounts are shot. It sounds like you need to adjust the mounting of the cable on the gearbox that's furthest from the inner wing. If the adjustment is being done by VW using the proper tool, I'd be interested to know the cost and results.

Suddenly, the direction that James Renshaw's car is heading in becomes clear. The colour is even the same...

I'm using 205/45/16 on the VR6 and the G60.

The 280mm brakes do have more bite. WHile the pads are the same size, they're spaced a little further out from the hub.
-
Keep the standard inlet. The larger inlet means more power at high revs at the expense of any go at lower revs. Kent GF1602R cams are worthwhile along with a panel filter and free-flowing exhaust. Mine has yet to have the Stealth treatment, but I might be tempted to try it before selling the car.

Of the VT front mount

Less than £100 for new wishbones fitted with bushes. Plus labour to fit them. New bottom balljoints would be a good idea while you're there though.

I'll put a picture up tomorrow. Small enough to post as well...
