  1. Surprising but when GTI Engineering had a MK3 VR6 golf as a demo years ago they chose an auto a it was actually quicker!
  2. LOl! Shame it was only ten pence :) I think the original slush puppy sticker i found might be worth considerably more :)
  3. Lol! Just as well as you'd be in the bloody ditch! :)
  4. Wow how did it manage to do that???? Crikey :(
  5. Aye me too 1.8 16v Sheffield also lol!
  6. No great rush but next week i wanna take the cross member off and get it painted up while it's all off, daft not to i guess! will defo be adding pics in this till it's finished. Or should that mean put back together as it'll never be finished lol! The paint is good but will be going back once all bit's in place for a good buffing over. I am completely happy yeah i cant begin to tell people how much, i'm so attached to this damn lump of metal it's painfull :/
  7. Indeed it does Yan, my 8v is phenominal on roundabouts even with standard ride height, the VR is pathetic in comparison and although 2 of my cars are cosseted beyond reality i'd like to think i drive them as they should be driven. (pondering the Nurburgring as we speak :) ) Need to go back again someday! Yeah the foam Grrrr! flippin stuff!
  8. Sounds like the problem i had with my 8v mate, i had an auto trician out and he re-soldered a few bits on the relay which runs the ECU and it has been faultless since..... The relay is one above the fuse box but I cant remember which one (top right side as you look at it????) Hope you sort it!
  9. lol! sure they do :) I know what you mean David but to me a set of tyres every 5 or 6 years aint too extravagant! :)
  10. Yeah not too bad only ever use genuine vw rear bearings though! they cost a bit more but last 10 times longer than cheapo's :)
  11. Agree mate i know i'm in the same boat as Chris when it comes to tyres ie they dont wear out due to the much lower miles we do, but i definately change them every 5 years due to age as i know i like to get a little enthusastic shall we say driving sometimes so i like to know the tyre isnt gonna give way. £300 ish for 5 years use! It's a no brainer. Chris i'll talk to you Sunday and give your hands a slap! :)
  12. Thanks Steve :) think i'm gonna take it nice and slow though and tidy up a bit as i go along too :)
  13. Hi Stan, Just checked the members list and he isn't listed so if Dave is ok to join up then that'd be much appreciated. kip
  14. Hi Stan, yes we have a spare spot. As there's no chance f getting a pass to you now i'd turn up around 9 and tell the staff on the gate it wasn't sent out in time, i'm sure it wont be a problem. Ps If your friend is not already a CCGB member I hope you dont mind me asking but I'd like him to join on the day! Any problem on Sunday give me a call. Paul (kip) 07890109122 Be nice to see this car as i've read a bit about it too :)
  15. Lol! Yeah You guys are funny! :) it's all smiles here though :)
  16. You still have to pay mate they'll have folk collecting on the gate for all club stands/traders etc.
  17. Yeah that did cross my mind to type that too Chris, think our first one was £600 lol! he said of course sir :)
  18. Hi Steve, it does but i think it best to actually go along to a local branch and see them face to face, mine are no problem and often order stuff for a few hundred quid without advance payment. I have heard some dont like dealing with general public though.
