  1. Yeah tilt it down a few degrees and that should do it :) cant remember if they have circular bits that sit on the bolt head/nut or if they are 6 sided????? About another 5 degrees ought to do it, bit anal but i guess thats me being such a saddo lol!
  2. Simply awsome skills mate, utterly staggering. If you dont mind me mentioning though you have got the ABS cable carrier on the wrong way round, it should resemble a letter U with the ends going into the arch not out of it. Would hate to see you having to buy more if the wheels rub or anything. Keep up the good work :)
  3. Well another epic effort of Jim's is about to hit the doormat so watch this space. Keep the articles coming too please as without them there cant be a magazine. ;) Kip.
  4. Tempted fate buddy :) hope you get it sorted asap! nothing like a set of brakes that work lol!
  5. Na you could do a G60 conversion though with 280 discs but i think the 256 are enough for the valver if they are working right of course.
  6. Yep definately a problem for me too! if i clack on whats new it logs me out, if i click on another page IE 1,2 or 3 of todays posts it logs me out! it'll probably log me out once i post this. Bit naff really and i'm losing interest rather quickly! :( Ooh it sent without issues :) a slight bonus!
  7. Yep same here :( getting a bit annoying having to log in all the damn time :/
  8. Coud've sworn they were less than £20 But sounds like i'm wrong again lol!
  9. Hi Chris, i'm pretty certain these are still available from the dealers for about £15 :)
  10. I'm with Peter James on both the Nugget & My VR, Not Footman James, http://www.peterjamesinsurance.co.uk/ :) cant fault them at all, i just hope it wont be a problem when i come to insure the Nugget again
  11. HA HA! love the description james, you ought to be an auther :)
  12. Yep i think this is the case so may be worthasking around but then you probably want to insure it for theft or fire too!

£450 mate i bought one for the Nugget a few months ago! ;)
  14. Na standard will be fine mate as it gets hot but not that hot!, had a few done now and not had a problem with melting paint :) That is basically what you get if you order a cam cover now, it comes with the blue VW logo and the VR6 DOHC in red as per off a golf VR6 as the plain silver one is now obsolete, and looks like its been masked up and painted black. You can see that the VW logo still has silver in the middle so he has masked off the circle rather than the lettering VW
  15. Easy enough to do Lee, get a spare cover and get cracking with the rattle cans :)
  16. Another vote for Graham at DG, i travelled down from sheffield and left it with him for some major work a year or two ago and it hasn't missed a beat since the work, dont drive it much mind lol! :)
  17. Looks bloody perfect to me Tom ;)
  18. Outstanding work Kev! Really impressive.
  19. Why run it so low that you have to modify it to clear the road? just seems stupid to me mate but each to their own. :/ Dont mean to sound like an old fart but i am so i probably will lol!
  20. What engine???? Best method for most is to start the engine from stone cold with the cap off topping it up as you need to, but dont let the level get so low that it sucks air in. wait until the fan kick's in and whack the cap back on. Messed around for hours not long ago and this method seemed to do the trick. also before this it may help to remove the standing water in the pipes by blowing all the water out, disconect from the main block and blow like billyO' :)
  21. Hi Alex, as already mentioned we most certainly (the CCGB) do not have anything set in stone regarding discounts for members, we do often say though that if you ask when ordering and flash your members card can often easily recoup the £10 annual membership fee from most dealers as many easily offer 10% or more. Guess they know they have the monopoly being so far away from the next dealers! Happy to order stuff for you from my TPS dealer in Dronfield and post it to you mate, a bit awkward but i'm sure it'll save a bit in the long run. I can post large heavy items as long as they are less than 20k for £15 so a big box of bits would be a reet old saving ;) :)
  22. Agreed far too good to break Baz, that would be a real shame so get it up for sale and see what happens.
  23. Yep i'd check the coil pack for cracks, best to remove it completely to do this too, only takes 20 mins or so and if you could get a donor one to swap that'd be a bonus. One year when i went to Stanford hall i parked up after a perfect drive to get there then spent all day sat there without being started then when i came to leave it was missfiring badly, it had a dirty big crack underneath it and it seemingly went while stationary :( Lol!
